Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democratic majority leader, is among the Democratic party leaders concerned about the tone of the presidential campaign. In an interview, Mr. Reid said that Democrats fretting over divisions in the party "need to relax and cool it a little bit."

He said he has had separate conversations with the House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and former Vice President Al Gore recently and is confident that the nominating fight will end naturally.

Yes especially if all $%^&* hits the fan after Rezko trial begins. That must have been why Obama supporters wanted to rush Clinton to quit the race, as once this stuff gets out there Barrack Obama may not look so pure and may not seem like the candidate of change they thought he would be. He would seem like a corrupt politician instead. This is a corruption trial and Obama had been close with and had business dealings with the Syrian born Tony Rezko for over 17 years. This could cost him the nomination af all is revealed

Well, I'm comforted. But perhaps he should have said this to Hillary---who just this weekend informed the world that she will take it all the way to Denver. This sounds like a stall tactic to me, but even if ti isn't, Reid is no match for Hillary the Hun.

Harry Reid is a national treasure and the highest ranking Democrat in politics. When Harry Reid says a deal is gonna happen you can take it to the bank!

It's already over. It doesn't matter who the Democrats nominate. The Republican machine will fix this election, just like they fixed the last two. Why wouldn't they? Once one starts to steal elections, one has to keep stealing them (it only gets easier!) to avoid punishment and stay out of prison. And Team Rove will be able to brush off the accusations by saying "America just wasn't ready for a black or female President".
I wish I was wrong about this; but with Diebold counting the votes, I can't see any flaws in their plan.

When do the Democrats get to replace Reid and Pelosi? Those 2 might be responsible for losing seats in the House and Senate in November.

Ladies and Gentlemen it is without question that Barack Obama will be the Democratic party nominee. He won more votes, more pledged delegates, more states. You cannot simply move the goaI posts any longer just ask Bobby Bowden or Nancy Pelosi. I for one appreciate the tempering Senator Obama has received from Billary"s "kitchen sink, Tonya Harding" strategies. Senator Obama will be stronger for having risen above her divisiveness and our candidate will thus be prepared for the Karl Roves and their fear be afraid be very afraid techniques.
John McCain a.k.a. Senator "McWar" cannot create more make believe boogeymen; the American people are now on to that b.s..

I fought in Iraq in the All Americans 82nd Airborne and join the now legions of my comrades opposed to the war which has cost 4000+ of my comrades in arms their lives and maimed another 25,000+. How much does a trillion and counting cost each American family? I ask any citizen who doubts the price of this war to visit the nearest Veterans hospital to them. The one I visit for therapy has a plaque on it that states The price of freedom is clearly evident here. The price for Iraq is way too high for a war which we should not be in. No WMD, No ties to Al Qaeda Etc. Etc.
Vote Barack Obama America!

The calls for Clinton to drop out are ridiculous. Has Obama reached the 2025 delegate mark yet? If not, then shut up and let people vote!

I think Obama is going to end this contest with 145 more pledged delegates than Clinton. If that is the case, who should we nominate?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:47 PM on 03/29/2008

Al Gore, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, John Edwards...but not Barack Obama or Hillary clinton!

Senator Reid, I know this is a cliche, but you can't be part of the solution if you're part of the problem. You and Senator Clinton have become part of the problem.

I suggest Obama get down and dirty in PA. hit her hard with commercials of her Bosnia story and the reality, make commercials with her Nafta record and her protest that she was against Nafta secretly all along, then her "feigned outrage at Obama for calling her on Nafta" show the actual record on TV,show the Canadian press account of the whole thing,..also the Ireland peace thing and what those in the know said. and how she and her goons claimed she just "misspoke" ..make it abundantly clear that woman is eigther insane or a liar, eigther way,she is no good, she can't be trusted.I'm sure there is plenty more to show as well.Don't think the republicans won't do it,and no amount of damage control will work this time.

I have discovered why Obama and his supporters think he has won the nomination before everyone has voted.

He bought it fair and square!

1.) Clinton was free to give more than she did.
The arrogance of inevitability prevented that.

2.) It wouldn't have done a damned bit of good anyway. The SDs aren't stupid enough to vote against the will of the people. (The popular vote)

You only now discovered that politicians give their political allies campaign contributions? Are you twelve? And why do you single out Obama when the article directly involves Clinton in exactly the same practice?

Would it be that you do not have a single honest bone in your body? I think that may explain it.

Tomorrow I will be attending a fundraiser for a congressman with whom I have a close relationship. He has a Political Action Committee that he uses to help challengers to Rethug congressmen. He build relationships and alliances, and as he does good work in the House, he can call on those he has helped to consider supporting his work. I'll give him a few bucks.

Shocking!

Yes he was bought by us, almost 2 million small donors with an average donation of less than 200$ who have given record funds so finally someone will represent us in the white house.

No, this just goes to show that Hillary Clinton is more concerned about Hillary Clinton than her fellow Dems. He's supported 52 of them to her 15. And if you want to go down the cynical road, maybe he simply is more prepared and calculating than she is. Clinton is probably kicking herself for not doing the same thing!

But seriously, really.

Are you aware, mtrav, that many of these bloggers have/had children go off to defend america. Instead, what happened is that this pansy president and his draft dodging cohort has refused to protect them with modern equipment, refused to allow them to return after their obligation was completed, and have reaped billions in illegal no bid contracts for their friends who have since left this nation to avoid future expected litigation. This is not diatribe. It is righteous indignation. And Reid, Pelosi, et al, are next to worthless when it comes to stopping the current administration. Suits should be filed and criminal charges made against every single person involved in carrying out these preemptive war plans of Bush. Every one of them.

I agree. I suspect it's just this bad in real life. I suspect that the Democratic party will not be anything I'd ever be able to get behind after this is all over.

I think the similarities between Obama and Clinton on core policy issues has actually opened up a gulf of difference is a variety of ways. What's bothersome to me is why we aren't exploring other topics. We could discuss gun control, the role of the executive branch, the direction we'd like to see in education policies and how that really plays out in terms of current programs, the role of the government in global warming practices.......

There's so m
