Slowly but steadily, a string of Democratic Party figures is taking Barack Obama's side in the presidential nominating race and raising the pressure on Hillary Clinton to give up.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is expected to endorse Sen. Obama Monday, according to a Democrat familiar with her plans. Meanwhile, North Carolina's seven Democratic House members are poised to endorse Sen. Obama as a group -- just one has so far -- before that state's May 6 primary, several Democrats say.

Helping to drive the endorsements is a fear that the Obama-Clinton contest has grown toxic and threatens the Democratic Party's chances against Republican John McCain in the fall.

Sen Obama,
can you explain to me why are people pushing Sen Clinton to drop out of the campaign so early?

Last time I checked the Democratic party convention is still scheduled for this summer.

I can see why you and your campaign team would want her to drop out as quickly as possible.

The longer this campaign continues the more time people have to investigate your past actions and decisions.

Truth always rises to the top and it is rising quickly.

Read the well-documented scathing expose:
Barack-I-Didn't-Know-Obama- By MBolack. Also read the "information source documentation" (links) and comments provided by bloggers to the sites listed above. Especially, check out the bloggers' sources: NY Times, LA Times, Washington POst, The Nation, The Republic, Chicago Tribune, Columbia Journalism review, Businessweek, plus more.

Sen Obama, with all due respect, you can throw out as many names of endorsers as you want to.

What is your point?

You see, when people have truth on their side...they WILL NOT back down...

Yes Sen Obama. 'Personal integrity' and 'fighting for ones convictions' is alive and doing well-
Once we learned the truth there is no way we can ever give up..

Please tell your campaign people to find another sound bite to use in this campaign because

"Hillary must drop out" is going south fast.

Will Monica Lewinsky be a key endorsement? Or will she be rejected and denounced?

Wow, Obama is getting more superdelegates? I'm shocked!

How much money did he give them? is what I want to know. Scumbag.

Hang on--raising money for fellow democrats makes one a "scumbag" What planet do you live on?

How can you explain that a first term Senator was able to help other Democrats out more than the Inevitable Candidate?

Hey Libby, grow up a bit won't you?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:38 PM on 03/31/2008

How much money? Why, did he also asked superdelegates to send a letter to the party threatening and bribing for votes? I think it was Hellary who did this.
No. He has not paid anybody. Calm down, chill out, and accept reality.

I know it's hard but it's time to face reality. Clinton's candidacy is toast. In the meantime, it might be helpful to realize that the rage among her supporters is not helping Clinton's campaign evolve toward a graceful exit.

you should also question how much money would Hillary have given if her PAC had more money to give ? She gave $50,000 to Tom Vilsack of Iowa after his failed primary campaign to retire his debt.

Obama gave more than $694,000 to superdelegates from Hope Fund since 2005. Clinton distributed $195,000 to them through her political action committee, HillPAC, and campaign committee. This money is not given to the individual; its given to the (re)election campaign. However, you must know that this is the purpose of these PAC Funds, to help finance the campaigns of your collegues. If all of your collegues in the Congress happened to be SuperDelegates then so be it.

This is one of the nastiest if thankfully non-racist anti-Obama comments I've seen outside of the rightwing blogs. It's hard for a Clinton supporter to understand, I realize, but some people do things based on a concept called "principle" and not "money." I know this is an alien idea for Clinton Campers, but it really does work. Try it sometime.

There are always going to be Clinton supporters like this who were so sure she was going to win that any other outcome is illegitimate. Watching them work themselves up into a frenzy is absolutely fascinating. His latest crime is to be endorsed by Amy Klobuchar. Bastard!

"who were so sure she was going to win that any other outcome is illegitimate"

Exactly---this sums up everything.

Libby? Would you be willing to call Barack Obama a "scumbag" to his face? I can arrange it for you...

I just don't trust John Edwards. His senate record was completely at odds with his candidacy positions and now this blaming Obama for the non-endorsement. Sorry but I just don't trust him.

I would like to see an Obama/Biden Ticket come fall.

Now that would be something! Or Obama/Dodd or Obama/Richardson, even Obama/Bloomberg or Hagel.

I like Obama/Biden way better than Obama/Edwards.

Barack Obama/Jim Webb '08 is the better choice. Webb offers more REAL experience than any of the fake experience Hillary could come up with. 'Just say no' to Hillary.

Obama/ Gen. Wesley Clark would be a great solution to McCain.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:33 PM on 03/31/2008

Webb would certainly dull McCain's military edge a bit, but I hear he can be pretty abrupt on the campaign trail.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:31 PM on 03/31/2008

Can you give some examples of that?

To me he seems perfect. He's an ideological double of Obama with big foreign policy and bipartisan creds, and if that wasn't enough, he flips Virginia.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:45 PM on 03/31/2008

I agree. Jim Webb would be a great asset in the GE.

First of all North Carolina' a congtrssional delegation is not endorsing Obama today . That was a lie perpetrated by Obamas campaign . Secondly don't request inauguration day off just yet . America will not elect a radical left winger POTUS. The media has very clearly chosen sides but that won' t be enough once the Republicans define him. After watching Obama bowl are you even sure he has a pair?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:44 PM on 03/31/2008

If it was a lie perpetrated by the Obama campaign, then why were they the first to throw water on it?

That seems like an incredibly stupid strategy anyway - announce an endorsement that doesn't happen. Makes YOU look like a fool, and it pisses off the people who you said were going to endorse you.

Both Obama and Hillary are equally to the left and good for them. Right now the youth of this country are the ones who will make the big difference in this campaign. The huge increase in registered voters thus far bodes well regardless. It will not take much to win some southern states with the right team. The Republican will be so out of line and McCain so out of it that the thought of another 4 years will be horrifying to any reasonable independent democrat or liberal republican.

Yah...bowling = the ultimate test of manhood.

Incidentally the real dynamic in the Fall will be age. McCain's slips in the debates and his deteriorating mind will make the results generational, not ideological. Ya heard it here first.

she should stay in, but can she do it with class? or will she play the "if I can't win then nobody can" game?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:26 AM on 03/31/2008

What's the point of staying in, if she cannot win by the math? If she's behind a hundred versus 500 and the outcome at the end is still the same - Obama gets the nomination - then what's the point of carrying on? She's only leading her supporters down the garden path of disappointment.

This blog explains why she was ever against NAFTA. She didn't disagree with it on policy, she just didn't want it to take away political goodwill or attention from her healthcare portfolio! http://robertreich.blogspot.com/2008/02/hillary-and-barack-afta-nafta.html

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:27 PM on 03/31/2008

I'm guessing that the people who are urging her to drop out believe that she cannot do it "with class" as you say. Ideally it would be better if all the states vote feeling that their votes are important. I expect the Clintons to point out that if she drops out now, the votes of 10 states (and territories) will not really count.

I wonder just what move of hers prompted Leahy and others to push her to quit. The Bosnia fake was well known before it became Big News, but maybe it was her "Hey, these things happen." reaction in contrast to Obama's A More Perfect Union speech.

Anyone have any other ideas?
