New York Times Responds To Reverend Jeremiah Wright's Year-Old Letter About Paper's "Misrepresentations"

This is more evidence of how the NY Times is a propaganda voice for the Bush Administration and for their Neo-Con lite candidate Hillary.

Great story in the New Yorker about (of all things) why/how newspapers are going out of pirint and Arianna is featured as a counter voice to print media....very interesting .The writer however just grazes the truth as to why so many of us have abandonned the print media for alternative news sources.

Many of the reasons are highlighted in this thread and by the NY Times business as usual type of reporting. Frankly, Rev. Wright summarizes the NYT misdeeds and this is why commercial media has become irrelevant. This paper along with the Washington Post and others have for several administrations given us a faulty and biased view of our world , our govt and our affairs. They deserve to be put out of business.

Some if not many of the comments are provocative/stimulating and interesting/ thought provoking. Others merely misconstrue the meaning of words. Many people can't discern the difference between racism, prejudice and a stereotype. If someone say something about whites: they conclude that they are racist. If someone says something about jews or Israel: they are anti-Semites.

Heck, all the time, just on television, all these pundits/critics/analyst are telling us what black folks are like, and they aren't even black, yet they know, somehow! Crazy!!!

By election time, when hillary is crying her bitter tears over being a LOSER, and senile McBomb is talking another 100 years of war, there will be nothing left to reveal about Obama, and for once, this nation will elect a man of substance, integrity and honor.

The more I learn about thhis Reeverend Wright, the more I like him. So waht if he said a few things that are not quite accurate. We all do that, especially pastors. For God's sake, isn't just saying that Dod exists is an unsubstantiated claim? And all pastors do that.

Lighten up folks. Generally speaking, what Wright says is the truth.

Why even bother to write to the New York Times, the voice of Bill-the-smiling-murderer-Kristol? This is exactly what NYT wants, i.e. some action to keep the anti-Obama news alive.

Okay were exactly is the story here? Just another chance to invoke Wright's name keep the negativity stirring. The media has gone beyond shameless trying to stir up crap over this man. The media has done no coverage on the other thousands of other speeches by this man when he talks about unity, kindness and forgiveness -- nor have they covered the community work and services offered to the poor by this church. All about the ratings trash sells news does not.

So the hit pieces are truly hit pieces. Even if delivered by surrogate media.

It almost sounds like The Times actually wants to negatively impact Obama's candicacy by the end of that last sentence...

The response sounds like proof enough to me that it's just what the paper wants after all...

If the Times were truly interested in the religious angle of presidential candidates, they would send Jodi to interview the hate-filled, Catholic-bashing evangelical kingpin, Rev. Hagee who McCain embraced just a few month ago when Hagee publicly endorsed McCain. Is there a YouTube loop of Hagee spilling his vile hate-speech about Muslims as well as Catholics?
Also, what about a story about McCain's switch from life-long Episcopal to Baptist a few years ago--when politics crosses McCain's religious road, is it not news?

More BS and smokescreen from the NYT, as expected. They don't address Wright's complaints, but concentrate on the timing of their release in the media, as if it mattered.

What does matter is the reason the NYT itself didn't publish his letter a year ago.

It seems The Clintons and the NYT have a lot in common

Why is it that anyone who doesn't act submissive to authority is automatically a danger, according to US politicians? Rev. Wright was NOT calling for condemnation of the US. He was giving a sermon on how America will pay dearly if the government keeps attacking, or sponsoring the attack, of innocent men, women and children.

Economic sanctions are attempts to starve a populace into a desperate overthrow of their government. Nice, huh?
