lack of sleep!!!

American's are chronically sleep deprived. I find that my frequency and intensity of headaches are affected by how much sleep i get...or dont get.

plenty of fluids
careful of food allergies/sensitivies
7+hrs sleep per night
keep poisons, i mean medications to a minimum.including over the counter
eat a healthy, balanced diet
stay in shape by exercising regularly(get that blood flowing)

these help me

I awaken with migraine beginning, and I know the weather is going to change. I have to give in to it, then it passes. I don't eat certain foods, and red wine is like poison. You have to keep a diary to figure out what to avoid (the weather is beyond control). A friend's dad suffered for years with cluster headaches; one day he thought it might be caused by certain foods. He determined which ones; he's headache free.

Food cause most headaches, if you are prone to getTING headaches, watch your food intake.

ALL PEOPLE ARE NOT THE SAME, FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU AND LEAVE THE DRUGS TO THE DOPES.

wE TAKE IN FOOD THAT DOES NOT AGREE WITH US, THAN WE TAKE DRUG TO FORCE OUR BODIES TO ACCEPT THEM.

With some headaches putting an icepack on my feet helps.
I don't know why it works, maybe it draws heat from the head, I don't know.
But it works for me.

We had headaches at work and we found out that it was sewer gas.

Not drinking enough water/fluids can also contribute to mild headaches. I'm surprised the doctor didn't mention that.

One thing that concerns me is the headaches that are caused by flourescent lights. With the coming mandate that all homes use flourescent bulbs, I'm surprised that there is so little talk of the side effects from that lighting...which includes headaches and fatigue. I am opposed to the government mandating my lighting source--I don't feel the need to cover for the failure of industry and automobile manufacturers to come up with sufficient pollution controls.

Many people are surprised that medications that are commonly prescribed or sold OTC for headaches have a side effect of headaches in some people. I have found that Ibuprofen causes me to experience really bad headaches...ironic, since many people take it specifically for headaches.
