John McCain Tuesday brushed off suggestions his well-documented quick temper may hinder his ability to serve as President of the United States.

In an interview with CNN's Dana Bash, the presumptive Republican nominee acknowledged he can get angry from time to time, but called that face a "very minor thing" compared to his accomplishments in the Senate.

McCain"s middle name is Sidney. Kindly call him Sidney. Sidney is a name that connotes just how much integrity and strength of character he has nowadays. And "Love, Sidney" starring Tony Randall was such wonderful show about an in-the-closet gay man helping a single mother raise her daughter.
Let"s just call McCain Sidney. It"s a fine name that lets us all know his game.

Along with his ignorance of foreign affairs and the economy his temper is of major importance. I have heard how he swears and yells at people he works with and I saw it when he called a questioner at one of his meetings a little jerk. We don't need someone with his lack of control in the White House.

Very minor, like his support for protecting the environment.

Maybe not that low.

Has anyone considered asking him about his PTSD? I have never met a POW who didn't have it. I know from personal experience that it can make you really grumpy at a minimum and is very hard to control. Sounds like he should release his Military and VA medical records.

Remember when an excuse not to vote for any woman was that she might have PMS and start a war or push the button? So now of course in his case that irritable nature is just minor. The GOP will say and do anything to keep everybody else down.

It's not his temper, its the freaking war and his desire to continue spilling American and Iraqi blood until some as yet undefined version of "victory" is reached. It's not his temper, its the economy (not his strong point) and his embrace of the Bush economic policies that got us into this mess.

It's not his temper, its his lack of moral integrity as he sold his soul to the neocon rightwing of the Republican party in order to get the nomination.

It's not his temper but the Keating 5 scandal and the lobbyists that seem to be all over the "Straight Talk Express". It's not his temper but his desire to go to war with Iran - yet another country that had nothing to do with 9/11.

It's not his temper but his plans to continue fighting the Vietnam war until he satisfied - except that this time, its not his life on the line but thousands of other Americans.

His temper is not the problem - it just makes all his other problems worse.

Yea it's a minor thing, matter of fact the last time he can remember losing his temper was 1984 or was that 1964? Oh, no matter as long as he remembers how to get on the "Straight talk express" he's good to go, now where is it parked? HAHAHAHAHAHA

He's correct that his temper is a minor thing. What's major is his inability to distinguish between Iran, al-qaeda, sunnis and shiites. However, when you add the two together it spells 4 more years of disaster....

Let's face it, if McCain's temper is a minor thing that's probably what he thinks Americans believe about 100 years of war.

The "100 years of war" misquote of McCain's actual comment is not far off the mark. The man is forever making controversial, unpopular, and even downright dangerous comments that turn voters off. "My friends, there will be many more wars...," "Bomb, bomb, bomb...bomb, bomb Iran..." "100 years of American presence in Iraq," "Al Qaeda being trained in Iran..." -- take your pick. I am sure that before November, we will have many more gaffes to use as anti-McCain fodder in the election. These troubling statements are indicative of a mindset that we do not need in the White House.
