Renee Zellweger went on Letterman Thursday night to promote "Leatherheads" when the subject of Tracey Ullman's spot-on impression of Zellweger (on her show "State of the Union") came up. Ullman has said of doing her impression of Renee, "I just put these eyelashes on and tried to think of Lamb Chop from Shari Lewis."

Renee pointed at a picture of Tracey in costume and said of it, "My reason for calling a therapist for the next six months... the reason I'm growing my hair out. Every time I look in the mirror I see Tracey Ullman." She then joked that if she had a twin brother who dressed in drag, that is what he'd look like.

Apples and oranges.

Each of them is brilliant at what they do best. I'd hate to meet either one of them as combatants in a metaphorical artistic dark alley.

But in the performing arts emotions run high, they must if people are to give important performances. Randi Rhodes comes to mind for some strange reason.

I think Renee Zellwegger is a fine actress and a classy lady. Tracy Ullman is no where near in the same league as Renee and she knows it so she has to tear her down. Cheap!.

Tracy's impersonation is funny, funny, funny and spot on.

It is sometimes hard to look at Renee's face.....

You may be correct however as a matter of curiosity, Is there such thing as the funniest dead person?
I often wonder when tabloid magazines publish the list of:
The handsomest bachelor "alive" - who will want a handsome "dead" bachelor?
The sexiest acctress "alive" - I have never met a sexiest "dead" actress - nor do I want to either-
The english language is a wonderful source of fun activites.
I have ask 9th graders the meaning of words and this is some of the responses:
Dialate = to live long
Enema= Not a friend
Protein= Favoring young people
Tablet= A small table
Vericose=Located nearby

The "Tracy Ullman Show" was BRILLIANT, and the brightest of bright spots during the Reagan-Bush I teevee era (along with the first two seasons of "Murphy Brown"). They just don't make 'em like that anymore. TRACY RULES!

Oooh, yes, totally brilliant. I adored her, especially when playing the child in her room. And Tracy was the first Brit who bothered learning how to speak American. (Our theatre schools have always taught us to speak Brit - mainly for doing Shakespeare and Shaw - but theirs never returned the favor.)

Tracy Ullman's impersonation was the video clip of the year as far as I'm concerned. All she does is act exactly like the celebrity, and because it's so accurate it's funny!

I'm not jealous of successfull women. I just dont' like it when they portray themselves as something their not. They're the ones who don't like themeselves w/ all the changes to their bodies and appearances.

When did I say something that wasn't true? Or did I say something about her acting ability? No i didn't. I simply can't understand why these people will do absolutely anything to stay in the public eye and relevant. If that means having a knife carve up their face. So be it. If that means putting in breast implants. Of course. If that means starving yourself. You bet.

Calling me names isn't going to make what I said untrue. How do I know she's had quite a bit of surgery? Because I have motherf'ing eyes! Thats how. It doesn't take a chemical engineer to see that she's transformed her face and body into something she wasn't born with.

Also, you're the one who seems to be in the miniority here. But I actually don't think you read what I wrote anyway. For the slows ones: I didn't say she was a bad actress. I said she has had multiple surgeries to her person.

Are you her mother or have a stake in her career? Or are you her BIGGEST fan!!!?

Oh my goodness. That picture of her from when she was 18 is something else. She used to be so gorgeous.. No wonder why she's seeing a shrink. She must be tormented over how much she has damaged her looks with surgery or chemical treatments. She did alot more than Botox. She also looks like she doesn't eat.

Wow. I actually read the comments below *before* watching the clip. The 1'10 clip. I was expecting to see a drunk or stoned Renee, based on the wise and insightful comments of some of these HuffPo commenters.

I think I understand now why HuffPo run these entertainment pieces. It draws the haters away from the rest of the site.

I actually watched the show last night and Renee was high! Her segment in entirety made it obvious. Usually she doesn't use a heavy Texan drawl in interviews, but she was so gone that it kept slipping out.

I saw her on the show last night too. It was incredibly awkward to watch her. The accent was uncharacteristically strong for her. I thought that she was trying to appear all cute and southern, but when she talked about her place in CT she seemed out of it, no longer. You are right. She must have been on something.

Have to disagree there. While I was not a huge fan of her on SNL, she was far from the weakest link there. And her show 30 Rock is one of the only consistantly funny sitcoms on TV right now.
