At a town hall in Eugene, OR yesterday, Hillary Clinton was asked by man in audience who is supporting Obama whether her attacks on Obama were hurting the Democratic Party....

Clinton concluded, "Elections are about choices, and you are supposed to present your case and you're supposed to critique the other case. That is what you do in an election. It is not a coronation. It is a contest. This country is worth fighting for, and I am going to fight for it. I'd rather you be involved and not for me than to be apathetic and not involved."

HRC certainly thought it was a coronation - she did NOT have a plan in February after Super Tuesday. She thought she would be "crowned winner" at that time!

Too bad that Clinton and her resigned/fired/demoted/renamed chief strategist did not get the memo on the nature of nominating contests last fall. But finally some advice that I can use: I think that I will be "involved and not for her" as Clinton suggests.

How long did it take her to realize that?

when Jim Neal used this line "we have primaries here in NC, not coronations" to respond to James Carville - an ardent Clinton supporter - it shut Carville up, so she figures it will shut voters up - NOT!

Watching CNN today, I was struck by how Hillary is now channeling Obama. Her cadence and speaking style was exactly like his. Has anyone else noticed?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:53 AM on 04/07/2008

She doesn't seem to have an original thought - everything is channeled - her husband, her advisors, Bush, Cheney, McCain, Edwards, you name it - she's been there - she needs an Oscar for her many faces.

Her campaigning is nothing but cold hard calculation of what she thinks she needs to do to win. No matter how insincere.

That being said, its obvious both sides seek out the best way to win, both have calculating strategists on their sides. But with Hillary, its just so embarrassingly obvious that its just painful to watch at times.

Let's keep an eye out for whether she starts wearing more bronzer and takes out her blue contacts to reveal her hazel/brown eyes.

That's her MO....Hillary has no real self; she wakes up each day and asks herself: 'who will I be today' She steals other people's ideas and their personality traits, just as easily as she would attempt to steal the nomination. This is part of her pathology and what many people are finding so disturbing.

HRC was fine with a coronation a few months back when she assumed she would be the one being coronated...

"This country is worth fighting for, and I am going to fight for it."

Here's the problem. I can see "fighting" between parties on both sides because you are offering a very different set of policy positions. But here? Obama and HRC are very very very close on policy. So, she is fighting for the country????

She is fighting for herself. Why should I trust her? If she will sell out the party and Obama--why wouldn't she sell out me?

"Neal, who is running against Hagan for the Democratic nomination, spoke out from the back of the room.

"I said, "We have primaries here in North Carolina. We don"t have coronations,"" Neal said later.

He said Carville did not respond. "It was the first time I"ve ever seen him quiet," Neal said."

I KNEW she got this from someone else - it was in an article about Carville and Neal.... sheesh - not an original thought in her head.

the monster just figured out that she is not the chosen one? well, duh. it is not a coronation, even if you are the princess monster and think the nation owes it to you because you were the duped and neglected spouse of a cheatin' lyin' husband. your crown, is tarnished hillary and no one wants you as president. because you too have taken on the cheatin' lyin' title and it is disgusting!

seriously... as more and more days go by, i am more and more convinced that samatha power is the f*ckin' oracle!!!!! she nailed it right on the head.

She gave a good answer, but it's another lie. She and her surrogates play nasty but then expect only kindness in return.

She screamed foul when Sam Power called her a "monster" and demanded that she resign. She also tried to get David Schuster fired for saying she was pimping out Chelsea. She complains more than anyone when she is criticized and blames it on sexism.

Youtube's JedReport has great video of her talking about how the primary would be over February 5. She was expecting a cakewalk. In this case, she simply got beat by a better candidate.

Hil-liar-y's new coed message is "who would you hire". We all know the connotations of that.

That comment makes the case for affirmative action all by itself. Knowing people are prone to pass over the black person, especially a threatening black male, regardless of what they say.

You of all people should know this is true, since the coronation process began the day you announced you would run for President. Thankfully that coronation was stopped when Obama began winning. His rise has been nothing like how you got started.

No this is not a coronation. I feel that Clinton is the only one that thought is should be a coronation- hers.

Did HRC learn that she wasn't going to be crowned POTUS #44 before or after she learned that BHO was getting more of the smart money from fat cats who were, as usual, hedging their bets to be on the 'winning' side? Who 1st told her of the change in funding?

I never realized how principled she is. She's staying in there because of some sense of how much more good she can do than Obama. What a gal!

Hillary has deep rooted issues from her childhood.

It's sad she continues with her circus style campaign.

Is Obama to bame for the way she runs her campaign?

I think not.

I don't know what Hillary's childhood was like, but I do agree that she blames Obama for everything.

Right now CNN is broadcasting yetan other Obama speech - live no less.

Obama has received more free airtime from CNN and MSNBC than any other candidate.

The MSM has indeed coronated Obama and they've influenced this process.

They've influenced it the point that Americans actually think it's "bad" to let the primary process go on.

Think about that - it's "bad" for America to let all 50 states have a vote in the dem primary.

Amazing.

I for one have always been annoyed that Iowa picks our candidate. I've always been annoyed that by the time we get to New hampshire the majority of candidates drop out.

MSM is peeved at Clinton for not dropping out because they want the general election process to begin -- this way they can talk about the red vs. blue attacks.

This long primary process has affected the media's game plan.

You're crazy...CNN has been very kind to Hillary. If they wanted to destroy her believe me they have enough amunition from the past 15 years to do it with. I wish that CNN would air her dirty laundry on TV .If they did this race would be over in a week. Everybody would be able to see the real Hillary Clinton. This woman has so many skeletons in her closet....... It amazes me how she can lie with such a straight face. She is truly a psychopath.

Give me a break. The Clintonistas seem to be supporting two contradictory statements:

Hey! Let all 50 states vote! EVERYBODY needs to have their vote heard!

and

Then when ALL the votes have been counted and our candidate still loses, how about if the pledged delegates and superdelegates completely overturn those votes and give the nomination to Hillary?

If the nomination should be decided by superdelegates and pledged delegates ignoring the wishes of the people they represent, why bother wasting time and money on primaries anyway? Why bother campaigning at all?

Susan1968,
Distortions again, the Obama speech was NOT live; Hil-liar-y's speech was live, geeez. I have been watching CNN and "Meet The Press " and Chris Matthews" all day. LAIR, LIAR, LAIR, like your master Hil-liar-y.

The MSM has kept her in this process. The MSM had been fawning over her for a year while ignoring the other candidates. There are plenty in the media, including most of CNN that is still in her corner. All this whinning about the media is distressing. Only Nixon complained this much about the media. Hillary is the female political clone of Tricky Dick!

Do you have any sources to cite the fact that he has received more coverage?

BTW, the MSM coronated Hillary before the race even got started. She was supposed to be THE ONE according to all the news reports and political shows. She was supposed to win until, strangely, people started voting.

Well, or at least it hasn't been "a cornation for her" since what occurred on Super Tuesday when Hillary didn't receive her crown.

Too bad that she & her Hillaryland 'queendom' didn't plan for anything in this Primary Race AFTER Super Tuesday. That's a tough way to try to win her crown.

And since then, HRC's attempted to "crown" Obama with everything in her kitchen sink.
