John McCain's temper is well documented. He's called opponents and colleagues "shitheads," "assholes" and in at least one case "a fucking jerk."...

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

It's going to be a fun campaign...

I'm sorry. Someone explain to me how getting mad at his wife, if even true, is newsworthy. What...is this supposed to imply that he is unhinged or something? Any married man who hasn't called his wife a "bad" name probably isn't much of a man at all. And vice versa.

Fight him on his policies, not this nonsense. This dumb focus is why we continue to lose.

John McCain's temper is just what we need for U.S. diplomacy. I could just imagine him meeting with foreign leaders, or foreign media, and spouting off.
His personality aside, what should worry voters is his record and stance on important issues that WE live with daily.
He does not endorse universal access to healthcare. He refuses to endorse civil rights legislation. He has no understanding of economic issues, and thinks everything is swell, despite the downfall of the market, credit crisis, inflation and rising unemployment, and has admitted he knows nothing and can't do much to solve those problems.
He's endorsed the use of torture by voting to authorize the military and CIA to continue torturing detainees.
He wants to stay in Iraq forever, and to bomb Iran, and begin another war there. Despite his having served in the military, he should know that our troops are stretched thread bare, commanders are complaining their troops are exhausted, equipment and personnel are in short supply, and our readiness to face any other challenge is non-existent.
After all the hype about Jeremiah Wright, little was said about Hagee's endorsement speech, which he embraced and solicited.
McCain wants to make the Bush tax cuts permanent.
The list goes on. McCain is a real nut case, and very dangerous. While respecting his service, I'm afraid of the damage he'll do to this country if elected.

He likened her to a trollop? That's some pretty retro terminology! Did he call her a "strumpet" and a "bawd" while he was at it? Egad! Maybe he's older than he lets on.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:44 AM on 04/11/2008

Sounds like the kind of guy you want to "negotiate" with Iran.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 08:46 AM on 04/11/2008

As the father of a brain injured young man I have done a great deal of study on the effects of mild to severe brain damage. A few very common examples include memory problems, like never remembering the Sunnis and Iran would not cooperate in Iraq, aggressive bouts of behavior combined quite often with profanity and lapses in judgment like calling your wife a cunt in front of the press. We know McCain was tortured and beat up in Viet Nam, it should be obvious from the injuries to his head and the behavior on the campaign trail that he is having problems thinking clearly. He should not be running for President, he should be getting medication and therapy to help him return to civilized society. All candidates should be tested for mental stability and intelligence. We can no longer afford to allow them to select mentally unstable Presidents just because they can be fairly easily controlled by their handlers. We need a President who is capable of digging us out of this hole and reintroducing America to the world as a Democracy which respect human rights and international law.

I wonder if he's always had this hot, uncontrollable temper. With the outbursts and the physical attacks on people (if true), sometimes I think he may still be suffering from post-traumatic-stress-syndrome from his war days.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 07:30 AM on 04/11/2008

I saw McCain interviewed by Dana Bash. She pleasantly asked him about something (maybe his campaign plane) and he said something like, "It's good for jerks like you."

Back at CNN, Blitzer and Cafferty reacted with shock and awkwardly said she wasn't a "jerk". Bash just smiled and said that was McCain's sense of humor, especially with the press. "Nothing personal."

If he's this bad now, with minimal stress, in full public view, imagine how he'll be when he's....older....under great stress....and in private?

For once I agree with a Republican. I don't think McCain is temperamentally suited to be president. "Scary".

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:16 AM on 04/11/2008

Betcha he never called Vicki Iseman the "C-word."

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:03 AM on 04/11/2008

If my husband ever spoke to me in that manner I would send him off to the moon without any oxigen or spaceship. What is the content of character of this McCain man that wants to be our president?
A person should not be judge by their political affiliation, money race or gender but for what kind of human being s/he is inside. I judge this man to be a poor sample of what a president should be. I judge him to be a sad excuse for a man. I judge him a lesser person for his lack of humanity.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:17 PM on 04/10/2008

There is a big piece missing to this "story," and that involves Mrs. McCain. I would very much like to know what her response was. If she laughed, then they are used to harsh sarcasm and that's their schtick. If she kicked him in the shins and said, "Guess who is sleeping on the couch tonight, Big Boy," that's another type of relationship. If she burst into tears and was humiliated, that's sad. Since she is independently wealthy, obviously she's not sticking with him for financial support, so there must be some goodies in the relationship for her. But we don't know, do we? Until we do, it's gossip.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 07:04 PM on 04/10/2008

That might be true if it had been done in private. But he did this in public. That's horribly disrespectful, and it makes you wonder if he can control his temper or mouth when he doesn't like something a foreign leader says to him.

That mouth could start WWIII.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 07:25 AM on 04/11/2008

Can we expect that this information will make it to the mainstream media on a regular basis? A 24/7 loop for the next three weeks will do.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:53 PM on 04/10/2008

The ironic thing about this is if you take away the "c" word -- which ought to invite every woman in America to vote against him -- he's absolutely on target in his description of her: "plaster on the makeup like a trollop." She is frightful. But then, he left his first wife for her, too.

In a serious vein, IF this report is true and if he's accustomed to speaking to his wife that way, it begs the question about whether there is any domestic violence in his past. People who speak violently don't always limit their assaults to words.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:58 PM on 04/10/2008

Would a Taliban leader talk like that to a woman? Probably yes. Would a rapist? For sure. Would a person with self esteem? Probably not. Would any woman, not just his wife, be spoken to that way if McCain "didn't feel good--a little stressed"? Does he think that women aren't any good because we all have pubic areas (a.k.a. cunts) ? Does he despise our feminine parts or regard them as wonderful?-----sought after?--------fought over?-----necessary equipment for a satisfactory marriage? Or does the man harbor so much rage that he lashes out at his weak, feminine, unthreatening wife like a psychologically deranged jerk?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:57 AM on 04/11/2008

Taking bets on who has the guts to ask him if he called Cindy a cunt. Certainly no one in the press. They bowed, scraped, and begged forgiveness after asking one question about Vicki Iseman. What ever happened to Vicki? If it was Monica there would be thousands of reporters at her door.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:50 PM on 04/10/2008

That's the most delightfully funny thing I've heard in this whole race. It sounds like an interaction between Frank and Marie, straight out of an uncensored episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:37 PM on 04/10/2008

In 1992 McCain was 55. I will be 54 in a few weeks and I, too, am going bald. In fact, in sort of a patchy and unattractive way. But my wife can joke about it without worrying that I will call her a trollop and a cunt.
John McCain is a nasty, cruel, vindictive man who should never, ever, under any circumstances be president of the United States.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:35 PM on 04/10/2008

Seems to me it is always the christian ethics right who are always falling short of their christian ethics.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:02 PM on 04/10/2008

Anyone who saw the ultra reactive hissy fit concerning Michelle Obama, defaming her patriotism is forced to look at McCains statements and conclude that maybe He is right.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:06 PM on 04/10/2008

Where was this documented? Please say there is a video on this one. That would seal the election!!!!!!!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:05 PM on 04/10/2008

It's quite amazing really. Of all the potential candidates the Republican Party could have had, they had to come up with a total idiot like John McCain. the only thing I liked about this schmuck was his wife Cindy, classy and cool - pity she gets treated that way, by a dumbo who married into her fortune which helped him rise in politics.

Obama is so going to run all over him.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:34 PM on 04/10/2008

His wife appears to be nothing more the 'arm' candy for an OLD man.
Want to bet she divorces him if he is not elected?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:55 PM on 04/10/2008

McCain is vulnerable enough on almost every issue (I'd leave out the 'almost' except for the fact that I never make absolute statements); why dig up schmutz (that's 'dirt' in Yiddish) from all the way back in 1992?

McCain called his wife a cunt, so it's okay for nasty (oops, sorry, I misread your tag) to call McCain a schmuck, the crude yiddish word for penis.

Obama supporters are so habituated to using vituperative language when attacking Hillary that it permeates all their comments.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:16 PM on 04/10/2008

CUNT that's a good word...I can hear my grandson calling my daughter that...GREAT!

When are we going to start holding our Presidents to a higher standard? Bush lies as if it were a contest or something...Clinton could not keep his penis in his pants even if it democracy depended upon it...and now because people are old and tired they can say CUNT in public? I DON'T THINK SO...

If McCain is that tired then let's elect someone a little younger. We can do that...YES WE CAN!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:14 PM on 04/10/2008

And Grandpa, he wasn't even OLD yet when he said it.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:22 PM on 04/10/2008

We go out of our way to hold all kinds of people to standards...but this is the Presidency...still the hypocritical Christian right will vote for him NO QUESTIONS ASKED...a man publicly degrades women and casually talks about one hundred year wars, and on top of that has 'senior moment' has no business even running...

he is old now...and my oh my God help us and God help women and children if he is elected!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:32 PM on 04/10/2008

I in no way intend to diminish Senator McCain's service to the country, but I fail to see how being a POW qualifiies one for the presidency. The only benefit to being a former millitary man I see is that it would foster an empathy for the plight of the soldier, give the CIC a first-hand knowledge of the horrors of war, and reflexively teach the CIC only to use the millitary in the most extremely and absolutely necessary circumstances. It seems that McCain has not learned this lesson and has, in fact, taken the opposite lesson. What appears to be moreso the case is that his torure at the hands of the enemy has bread within him a seething, supressed rage and anger, as well as a deep sense of violent hostility towards American adversaries - which must be destroyed so that no one ever has to experience what he himself had to endure for his country.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:13 PM on 04/10/2008

OOPS! Forgot my asterisks.)

Don't be conned, conned. He was BORN this way. And really, I don't think he endured imprisonment for his country, he endured it because he got shot down, after getting posted as a fighter pilot despite D's and F's at Anapolis (or wherever). Many did endure torture and imprisonment for their country, and where are they now? How many former POWs do we know by name? ONE. Just the one who married the rich lady whose daddy bought him the senate seat, but first, he had to divorce the lady who stuck with him through the "bad" times. A c*nt is a c*nt is a c*nt, to some people, and it doesn't take PTSD to create a monster. Sometimes all it takes is sperm + egg (= "McNasty"...his high school nickname, long before PTSD!)

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:31 PM on 04/10/2008

I fail to see how getting mad at his wife and calling someone a fu*king a**hole disqualifies him from being president. I hope you don't think Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton have never gotten pissed at anybody and cussed at them. If so..Let's not be naive. This was a silly story that was a reach to slam McCain. It is like the Obama did drugs when he was younger story. Who cares? and who hasn't?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:29 PM on 04/10/2008

He called his wife a name I wouldn't apply to a stranger. This is a sneak preview into how McCain handles stress. This is not the first time he blew up in public.
A president's ability to remain calm and logical is of the utmost importance. McCain fails that test.
Is calling your wife a cunt part of the, "family values."

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:09 AM on 04/11/2008

He didn't just "get mad at his wife." He called her a terrible vulgar name in front of others. That's emotional abuse. I never did see what she saw in him. Now, I truly don't. I can't stand a man who degrades his wife in public. Makes me wonder what he does to her in private.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:25 PM on 04/10/2008

Will Matthews ask him about this next week when he gives McCain an hour of his show

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:35 AM on 04/11/2008

I agree with you completely. It shows a lack of self-control and displays truly disrespectful behavior. If it were me, he wouldn't have gotten the complete word out of his mouth before he was eating a knuckle sandwich. The man most certainly has issues, that much is obvious.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:40 PM on 04/10/2008

NO no no nooo.....I am sorry. I don't want a president who cannot control his own language. You might think things, but common decency rules that certain words are not used against YOUR WIFE! I use the 'f' word myself but that is not such a degrading word as CUNT. I wouldn't even use that against a sworn enemy. That is the same as calling someone a N***** !! That lack of self control is very telling. It shows the same disrespect as our current president has to anyone who isn't himself.

What shame she must have felt to be called that! And in public! In his head he must think of her as the potential First Lady. If he uses words like that to her....what can we expect. Moral character......where has it gone?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:53 PM on 04/10/2008

*sigh* Looks like Grandpa was right.

As for "Who cares?" You can SEE who cares. WE ALL DO. Must be a real nightmare, for you, and your entire Reprobate Party.

Most people just don't think the way you do. You're scheduled to find that out. OUCH.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:51 PM on 04/10/2008

What makes you think that Toby25 is a Republican? The fact that he suggests that Hillary or Obama might at one time or another have used street language?

As for who cares...I don't and I have never ever voted Republican.

I will vote for the Democratic nominee even if someone produces evidence that he called his father a m----rf----r or that she called her mother a c--ks----r. I used dashes to avoid upsetting your tender sensibilities.

You sanctimonious prigs disgust me.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:43 PM on 04/10/2008

It's not sanctimony. It's criticism aimed at a man who might be our next president. I, for one, would like to know about his temperment, and if his marriage is just a sham.
If elected, McCain will continue the flow of money to the wealthiest 10% or so. He'll keep bush's war going, and he won't withdraw any troops. He'll bomb Iran, if we haven't already, by that time.
I don't care what McCain says, he is just a carbon copy of bush.
