On the other hand ... I wonder about that tumerous-looking growth between the faces, with a DIMPLE, for the love of the uncanny. It looks like it's getting bigger as the child gets older. Will it pose problems? Can plastic surgeons remove that unholy swelling?

One reason for all the publicity this child is getting is probably due to the fact that babies born with this condition -- diprosopus -- are stillborn or rarely survive for more than a few days maximum following birth. Also remarkable is the way the culture treats the deformed. If this child had been born in medieval KKKristian Europe, she would have been killed as devil spawn. The Hindus, in contrast, make her a living goddess. It's a lesson in tolerance that the intolerance of KKKristian-driven western culture could use.

I know there are deformed babies all over the world, but it seems that India in particular has had quite a few of late. Is there anything specific about their environment or physiology that is causing this?

why do you keep posting stories of deformed girls from India? Why are you taking the dignity away of a child who obviously does not have the power to speak for herself? Are there no deformed babies in the US that you can post? Shine the mirror on yourself before you try to make freaks out of people that look different than you. Or better yet, let these kids live in dignity.

Some people hold her in reverence and touch her feet to receive her blessings. Then others make crass jokes that aren't funny but sick.

I couldn't read the links but I'm curious to know do the 2 mouths go to the same throat/espogus, will the mouths talk double or will one talk and then the other talk? And what about the vision?

When our returning soldier start having these baby's will we get pictures.

I have seen no such photos of baby's that are being born right now in Iraq with horrific birth defect.

Ok, can we all grow the fuck up? No matter what caused this deformity, the baby is here. And I can appreciate that her culture accepts her, when must would have shunned her. She's clearly a very beautiful baby, and just had the misfortune of being born this way. Most of you who proclaim christianity as your religion should appreciate this child's birth, because I know a lot of womae would have contemplated abortion after an ultrasound. To make fun of an infant, a child who can't defend herself is weak and disgusting.

This is why prenatal care is essential.

She should come to America and join the Democratic Leadership Council where two-faced people seem to prosper quite well....

The child is beautiful, unlucky to be born into a world that will turn away instead of helping her. I pray that she receives help in every possible way and lives a long life, not looked upon as abnormal. To all you people who find this disgusting I hope somewhere down the line you grow up.

Considering the amount of man made pollution now circling and covering our planet there is sure to be a lot more tragic birth defects like this one.I remember the Bophal incident in India when an American Co. (Union Carbide) chemical plant unleashed a massive toxic cloud over the population of that city that killed and crippled thousands of people.
Now Iraq and the Middle East is polluted with "Depleted Uranium" (promising even more birth defects) that the Bush Regime has used by the thousands of tons,ostensibly to bring Good Ol'American "Democracy" to that region!
