Starbucks Offers Free Samples Of New Coffee

Starbucks is conducting a national taste test Tuesday for its new Pike Place Roast, a fresh-brewed coffee the company is hoping will boost sales.

Pike Place is a nostalgic brand for Starbucks and part of CEO Howard Schultz's plan to reconnect with the company's customers and return Starbucks to its roots. The new brew is named after Starbucks' original store-location in Seattle's famed fish market.

Starbucks offered free 8-ounce cups of Pike Place at U.S. stores Tuesday.

Starbucks... I have some way mixed feelings about them. On the one hand, they do provide very handsomely for their part-time employees (anyone working over an average of 20 hours a week is eligible for health benefits etc). But they also owe me some money from that lawsuit they're refusing to pay. And their customer care and quality has taken a dive.

They've just got to learn how to brew coffee. It's ALWAYS bitter - a sure sign that they don't use enough coffee grounds when brewing. I guess they save some money but it makes bad coffee.
