The Pentagon told a North Carolina lawmaker Tuesday that he couldn't re-air a video he'd shot in Baghdad after accusations surfaced that he breached operational security in detailing enemy rocket attacks.

Rep. Patrick McHenry, a Republican, traveled to Iraq with other lawmakers for the first time on March 22. The video was the second incident stemming from that trip that has drawn unwanted attention to McHenry. Earlier, he was criticized for berating a guard in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone for not allowing him into a gym there because the congressman did not have the proper identification credential.

Is McHenry too short to serve in the military?

I'm sure all of the neo-cons and ditto-heads would approve what's he's done - as long as he had a little plastic American flag pin on his lapel.

He is known as "Pat the Worm" here in North Carolina. I can understand how he would be impressed with his own importance: The American Taxpayer is paying this guy over $165,000 per Year to prance around and pull all the unbelievable crap he's pulling. That's almost $14,000 per MONTH!! Pretty nice work, if you can get it, isn't it?

And he has only the Republican Party to thank!

I'm glad I'm dying.....

This would be a good spot here to lament the death of the soldiers' blog. For the first 3(?) years of the war we were able to read the thoughts and feeling of our servicemen and women. But the Pentagon nixed all that under the fig leaf of 'operational security'. As though Sadr City militants whos neighborhood is suffering from an hr. of electricity a day would be closely studying Joe Blow's English language critique of the Camp Anaconda meatloaf that evening.

Silly rabbit, you can only send back video if you're embedded with an American unit kicking ass.

"Operational Security?"

It's called CENSORSHIP.

Orwell would be proud.

OpSec is intended to protect our troops and material assets by not relaying sensitive information to an enemy. It is not censorship. Judging by your comment I guess it would be okay to give all the pedophiles in your city the daily schedule of your kids.
