I've confirmed what my sources told me this afternoon: that Robert De Niro has left CAA. But I'm still trying to confirm the second part of what my sources told me: that De Niro is going to Endeavor. The very idea of him leaving CAA, where he's been a client for such a long long time, is astonishing. I remember when Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane and Richard Lovett made it a top priority as soon as they took over CAA in 1995 to do everything they could to keep De Niro since he was tied so closely to departing Michael Ovitz. And let's face it, "Bobby" had a fabulous career before then and since then.

I find him to be intense and very interesting. Always have.

Yeah, they keep wanting him to appear in roles like Bill the Butcher in "Gangs of New York" and to restore his diminished reputation, can't they let a guy become a punchline in peace???

The Good Shepard made drying paint look like a Best Picture shoo-in.

DeNiro's had a "fabulous career" recently? The only tolerable film he's done in ages is The Good Shepherd.

Not that it matters--any one of his films with Scorsese is enough to make him a god.

Yeah, I was going to post the same thing but rpence beat me to it. I would add that his character in "Jackie Brown" is the only passably good thing since "Casino".
Let's face it: De Niro only shines in extreme or mob roles; he isn't much use anywhere else.

What? You didn't *love* him in 'Meet The Parents'?

maybe they told him that he can't play roles like Brad Pitt, Leonardo Caprio get. Hard for him to understand that he is old now, and that we had a fill of gangster movies. Sorry, De Niro everybody gets old you are not the only one. How long you gonna lie on the screen. Take your money and afford yourself a nice vacation with friends, there must be someone you care about.

What a ridiculous comment. I'm sure that De Niro has no problems with his age. And neither do I...he is by far more sexy than Pitt, Caprio or any of the other shallow youthful actors that currently enjoy their fame in Hollywood. Haven't you heard??? Men, unlike women, only improve with time, becoming more sensual as they become more mature. I have no use for Brad or Leo, maybe when they are older they will become more manly...yeah, they are pretty to look at but neither are great actors in the way that De Niro and Pacino are.
