Former Miss Universe contestant Erin McNaught is used to her racy image but says a billboard with her photograph and a provocative slogan has taken it too far.

"I wasn't thrilled with what that line was implying," Erin says. She says the company emailed the slogans to her for approval but it was at the time she was moving to Melbourne to be in Neighbours.

Ultimately she signed the contract.
Her sour grapes will have to be chocked up to a learning experience. Question though, how many jobs is she going to be able to book as a model once she has the reputation for being a prude?

i hate to be on the side of a corporation, but she needs to lighten up. maybe she needs a little cockortwo, or if it be her preference, maybe a vaginatoo.

How is it hypocritical to model for a wine ad and to not want the ad to say that you like a "cockatoo"? (I'd write it out, but my comment would probably get pulled) It's not like she was posing for porn ads - that would be hypocritical. Also, what if she's gay? What if she was molested as a child? What if...a billion things. It makes me think less of the wine company for wanting their product associated with an ad like that. It's not funny, it's classless, and it's not fair to the model.

I can't believe that most of you think it's okay just because she's a model, as if posing with a cockatoo for a wine ad is akin to being a hooker (which I think should be legal if both parties consent anyway, but regardless...) - she's a pretty girl who made money posing for ads. Not everyone can be or wants to be an engineer or an accountant or a doctor or whatever. Would you prefer she worked at a fast food place? Or, what if she was an employee of the wine company and was in the ad as a representative of the company and a product she helped make - would she still "deserve it"?

Also, my cockatoo finds it offensive to be associated with sex. And wine. She abstains from both.

OK, the WINE is NAMED Cockatoo Ridge.
How is a slogan that says, "She loves a cockatoo" exclusive of the product?

Otherwise, It is just a bird.
Sexual innuendo is in the eye of the beholder, and FACTUALLY no more than third on the list of "what does it mean". Product--Bird--?--Penis?. Get over it.

FlippyO, your cockatoo is unable to associate with sex because it is your captive in an artificial environment where you provide no opportunity for sex. It has probably also had it's reproductive orientation derailed by being imprinted on humans. So, your example, is at best, a non sequitur.

I really hope that was sarcasm. Paying people because they are pretty is part of what's wrong with humans, not just Americans. And yes, I'd rather she have a real job. Being pretty isn't a skill or a talent. She gets paid because she was lucky at birth. I don't know about you, but that strikes me as the most superficial bullshit we as a species can engage in.

"Look at us! See how pretty we are! You can be pretty like us! Buy our crap!"

It's the VAIN meeting the VENAL pushed by the MANIPULATIVE.

Enjoy your ads.

Oh wah wah wah. She needs to get a sense of humor and grow the hell up. She don't want to be used like a piece of meat?

Then retire from modeling and join a convent.

Hypocrite.

Maybe she's just being pedantic, preferring properly spelled out words over allegory?

When you make your living showing off your body to sell products (like any model), you loose the right to be offended at being treated like a piece of meat. Sex sells and if you didn't want to be a sex object, you should have gone to school and learned a skill other than being pretty. You did it to yourself by your career choice. No sympathy at all for you.
