Vice President Cheney went on right-wing talk radio yesterday with a dramatic new argument for preventing Iran from getting nuclear weapons, casting the Iranian leadership as apocalyptic zealots who yearn for a nuclear conflagration.

Cheney also notably refused to comment about any recent conversations he may have had with Israeli leaders about the possibility of their bombing Iranian nuclear facilities. Some observers suspect Cheney of encouraging Israel to attack Iran as a proxy. Conventional wisdom in Washington has it that Cheney and other supporters of military action against Iran were sidelined after a National Intelligence Estimate last November reported that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003.

Cheney may be correct in his assessment of the Iranian theocratic dictatorship. One thing we all must keep in mind is how religious zealots consistently act irrationally. There is no question that religion is first and foremost based on a set of irrational thoughts and emotions and not reason. So, it is irrational for reasonable people to think theorcrats will act rationally. History is full of the hateful, irrational, unreasoned acts of religion and religious believers, the Iranian theocrats are at the extreme end of the religious zealotry spectrum and so we can not act as though they will behave in a reasonable, rational way.

Look at the snarl on that guy.

How would you like to be the one who tells him your country is going to jerk around the weapons inspectors?

Some one should slug this turkey on the right side of his chin so his snarl would be even!

The dog snarls for his war.

Every great nation needs its dog. All the while insisting that its dog does not venture past its leash. Problem is that, the dog has severed his lease and now dines in any bowl it desires. How does one catch its dog? Impeach? Vote?

Neither is any good without awareness. The dog will dine until the MSM is taken back.

Every generation has its Father Coughlin, its McCarthy, ... its goofball, spawned of aging and sickness, perversity, and monetary self-interest. No idea where this old fart gets his strongest motivation to lead America toward perdition, ... my personal patience for his spouting war speak, over and over and over, ... without any of the media pointing out that he has some form of mental illness, ... that grows increasingly thin.

He is a documented vasopath. Heart attacks, ... implanted defibrillator, ... scary robotic, sort of old coot. That he is our vice president is a sad commentary on our nation's judgement, ... but even worse, upon its current poliical system, ... which allows a candidate for president, such as Bush, or McCain, or Obama, or Clinton, ... to select, or have selected for them, ... a replacement, ... a person waiting in the wings to take their place. One must remember that every artery in a body beset with atherosclerosis is affected, ... heart, legs, ... Brain. Our brains all worked better when we were 22 years old, ... but we did not posess the experience to make full use of that performance. That is the irony of the Human mind.

Facing the Nation, ... if not the Reich, ... Is whom the Republicans will nominate as Vice President to McCain. Opinions vary widely All focus is that the the Reich provides a successor to the NeoCon legacy to the robotic vasopath, ... Cheney. This time they would love to

Well, here we go folks - they want to attack Iran before the elections - then McCain being the "war" President will be the only one who can lead the Nation through it - don't fall for this sh*t over and over and over people.

From the full article: "When my colleagues do take notice, I hope they point out that the advocates of a strike against Iran are the same people who enthusiastically advocated the invasion of Iraq, making similarly authoritative-sounding declarations about the uselessness of diplomacy and the easy triumph of military might."

The neo-Cons have achieved a wonderful debating goal by convincing us all that what went wrong in Iraq was not our military but the aftermath of the invasion, messed up by al-Quaeda and Iran. They have cut Bush's handling of the insurgency away from the decision to invade, and are willing to let the Bush leadership go down guilty of incompetence. I'm afraid, though, that the reason the neo-Cons aren't interested in returning to the debate about whether to start a war is not that they have learned anything from Iraq, but just that they can't sell it to us dummies who lack their guts and vision. Iran, they figure, can be taken down just as Saddam was, only without an invasion. We can 'trust' the Iranians to put themselves back together because there won't be any Iran to foment an insurgency.

Darth Cheney is the consigliare of GHWB and serves as co-president

much like Romney will do with JW McBomb. David addington will be

both of their Chief of Staffs, opening mail and reviewing the speeches.

Condi will be dropped due to polling showing that most Americans do

not believe Condi is either female or black but just a good ol' white boy.

Senator Biden, we're depending on you to carry out your promise to impeach if any action is taken against Iran.

And I had thought Darth Ceney went home to his ranch and we didn't have to deal with him anymore! He was quiet for how long about Iran? It's kind of like the old fart that tells a story goes to sleep for a while and wakes up telling the same story all over again. Cheney has to have one more war under his belt before he retires and I am hoping the US and Congress won't give it to him. I no longer trust that some bomber sent by the two in the white house will not just fly over and bomb Iran making them feel they can justify the next war. Like Hillary and John Mac they have made an art out of doing something then blaming the other guy for starting the fight. Our soldiers are tired and the equipment is worn out so are the nuts at the top of the tree planning on a Blackwater "soldier" war where we go deeper into debt to countries that hate us to pay for it? Can anyone tell these guys to stop? Just because it's time to vote coming up again and the republicans have used up the old danger color signs like they used last presidential campaign, this doesn't mean they can go all out and start another war to win does it? Hillary is doing her best to supprt Mac but do they have to win by adding a war too?

Americans, you do realize that the rest of the world will hold each and every one of you responsible if you allow your leaders to carry out their obvious plans.

Try to think back to WWII. Exactly what light were German citizens looked upon during and immediately after the war? Typing away on your keyboard won't cut it anymore.

The "world" won't do jack. For the last 50+ years Europe has relied on the US to protect them and they're counting on us now. They may bitch a little but nothing's gonna happen. Ever.

As an American who is absolutely horrified by what we are doing to the world, I hope and pray that you are correct. I fear that the only way that we will be stopped is when the rest of the world stands up and says in a collective voice that enough is enough.

Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.

This is the Bush/McCain strategery. Start a war so that only a certified old war horse can win the election. The previous war was an election strategy and it worked, why change a winning course. The American public has been proven to be war-lemmings, so why not. This is the only way McCain can possibly win, without it he is simply a joke.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:36 AM on 04/12/2008

No - the strategy is to start a war, then postpone the November elections indefinitely for national security reasons.

And we still have a Senate and a House of Representatives (Who do they represent ??) who are sucking up to Bush and Cheney!! They will go along with whatever B&C desires as regards Iran or anything else. We need A TAR & FEATHER PARTY in Washinton DC and let no one escape. ASP!!

It's a good thing Hillary had the wisdom to vote to name the Quds force a terrorist organization and give the Bush administration all the legal ammo they need to go to war with them.

Since when has legality ever stopped the Bush administration from doing whatever they wanted?

What I can't figure out is why, if Congress was/is bound and determined to cede their authority to the executive, we even need them.

Frankly I see NO need for republicans at all since they don't want to govern they want but instead get benefits and a paycheck for being rubber stampers.
