Not a professional shrink here, but happy to play one on the internet. ;-)
Bill and Hillary need couples counseling.
Period.
I haven't been the only one to speculate along these lines, but I was one of the first to lay it out. Originally, I was just funning, enjoying the latitude of a blog post, free associating into a possibility that could never be confirmed.
But yikes. This latest feels like confirmation. This extended blunder feels like more than a blunder. Not just the lies about how it was late at night on the one occasion when Hillary told the tall tale about sniper fire in Bosnia--not just that; he actually goes about Hillary's age and how all of us aging boomers know how easily we get confused.
Given the ancient McCain on the one hand and the youthful Obama on the other--there is literally no more destructive issue, on a personal level, that he could possibly have raised.
Time for the professional shrinks to weigh in.

Period.
If Hillary becomes President then Bill's lucrative million dollar deals will slow down or
come to a halt.
Does anyone believe Bill wants his "gravy train" stopped?
Heck, NO!
Gosh I'm a 60 year old female and when they had a surprise party for me -the theme for the decorations was all black-- black balloons- black favors- black invites... was I mourning my youth- was I forgetting the groceries, car keys, peoples' names, what I ate for breakfast, my colleagues' meeting dates and times, my appointments, my facts, my itinerary, my agenda, what to do if and when I got a 3 AM God-forbid-call, etc.......
The press is working overtime to stop Hillary!!!!
Stop Hillary and STOP NATIONAL HEALTH CARE.
DON'T BE FOOLED THAT IS THE MEDIAS MISSION!!!!
You mean stop "mandatory" health care. Hillary owes the health care industry big time. She has taken more money from them than another person in congress. The American people will be paying that bill with her mandatory health care. And if we can't afford it, our wages will be garnished.
My guess: Bill Clinton doesn't want to back a loser, and he probably knows that his wife is not going to be the nominee. He might even wish he could work for the Obama campaign and be in on all the excitement . He may not want to be First Gentleman because he might see it as a comedown after being President. Also, if he were First Gentleman he would be on a tight leash and might have to curtial his questionable business deals and other extracurricular activities.
bill clinton does seem to be undermining her. what will the democratic nominee say about mccain?
I only wish Bill Clinton was trying to knock his "wife" (I use the term loosely) out of the race.
I will absolutely get down on my knees and pray that he is trying to knock her out of the race.
The problem is, Bill Clinton is, just like his wife, too greedy to do that.
Gonna make a prediction here...
Not about the Dem primary. It's a given that Obama will win and Clinton will lose.
My prediction is that, within 6 months, there will be a hugely messy Clinton divorce that will rock the Democratic Party to it's very core...
You heard it here first..
Michale.....
Dude,
Good to see you back.
Why the change in moniker?
Nah. Divorced, they might be forced to testify against one another (ha!). But I agree wholeheartedly that he's undermining her campaign. Does anyone seriously believe that his ego could ever handle the inevitable administration comparisons? The competing legacies? She may think that whatever she has on him is sufficient for him to support her, but "Sat. night Bill" is slicker than snail slime.
Indeed, and it will come as a result of Bill publically endorsing Obama.
His heart will overcome his head and do what he feels is the "right" thing for America :-)
Okay, now you've changed your phrasing. But sorry again -- you were not even "one of the first."
This is SO much more entertaining than reality TV shows.
We may have to have these election thingies more often!
This IS a TV reality show. The ultimate one. Featuring the entire country (plus American Samoa and Guam) all the networks and an amazing cast of unpredictable characters. This has got to sweep the Emmys next year.
