Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. returned to the Sunday morning pulpit in Norfolk, Va., to remind an overflowing sanctuary that trouble is unavoidable, but does not last forever and is not suffered alone.

"I don't care what the prosperity preachers say ... there is no such thing as a trouble-free life," Wright said. "Don't quote Jeremiah Wright, quote Jesus."

Wright returned to the pulpit Sunday for the first time since video clips of his controversial views on race in America and the 9/11 terrorist attacks circulated on the Internet, roiling the presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

What the candidates say and more importantly do (and have done) should be the only criteria for support.
Obama is the best candidate still standing.

Hillary's demonization of black ministers, black christians, and the black church will come back and bite her in the ass. She better lock down the redneck and BITTER white women vote. She'll need them.

If you ask people in the US what is the most important book they will say:

"The Bible"

If you ask these same people a question of who wrote it, they will say?

Duh, uhhh, I don't know.

People open your eyes.

Religion has not yet solved any of mankinds problems.

Religion is at best a copeing mechanism and a power platform for those in control.

Your deal = Do as your told pay tides
Their deal = Do what you want, get cash, cars and houses for doing what you should be doing for free.

Biggest scam in the world.

### Newsflash ###
The current POPE helped cover up the child molestations in the catholic church.
He wrote a letter urging priests to delay cases until the statute of limitations expired.

We are all familiar with how these crazy ass terrorists are misleading faithful muslims by convincing them that god wants them to make a bomb out of themselves.

Religion is a scam.

Senator Obama has said that Jeremiah Wright is "a good man," despite having made some offensive and intemperate remarks on a few occasions. The following article just came to my attention. It is worth reading.
___________________________________________________________________________
In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy"s challenge to "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and joined the Marines.
In 1963, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, he volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman.
He did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. He was assigned to the Navy"s premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief"s medical team, and helped care for President Johnson after his 1966 surgery.
For his service on the team¦the White House awarded him three letters of commendation.
While this young man was serving six years on active duty Vice President Dick Cheney received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father.
After leaving the service of his country, the young African-American finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of a large church in one of America"s biggest cities.
This man is Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the retiring pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Very good post. The storm that ensued after the Rev's perhaps intemperate remarks was out of proportion. His remarks may have been offensive to some, but if those folks look deeper they may see that he spoke not one word of untruth. His comments may be painful for some to hear, but when one looks at the man's background it's hard to question the authenticity of his voice and the quite legitimate emotions that led to his remarks.

Don't quote me, quote Jesus!

Now that his a great quote.

I hope the MSM smoke that in their corporate bigotry pipe.

Not a very great quote, actually. There's little if no reputable account for the historicity of Jesus. It's a retelling of astrological metaphor that is as old as Horus himself (3,000 BCE).

Christianity is a farce.

this is a non story. PLUS Obama said last night on CNN's "compassion forum" that Wright was not his mentor he was his pastor. I've emailed the "journalist" of this article asking for a contradicting quote, because I have yet to find one in his book or earlier speeches

funny how anything and everythiing that does not paint obama as the new messiah is a 'non-story'...i guess it makes it easier to throw it all down the 'memory hole'...drink kool-aid much?

Trashing Fox at a funeral. Wow, is there a widow, any children? They must be all warm.

If you knew the Hon. R. Eugene Pincham you would realize for Dr. Wright to not speak of politics at his eulogy would have been to ignore his life.

Yeah that is great logic. So I guess I should sit in the front row and pull out a hoagie during your fat Aunts funeral. I mean if you knew anything about how your fat aunt inhales food.

Consequently it would never be proper to shave yer pits during a she-moonbat funeral.

Perfect moonbat logic.

like Fox hasn't trashed so many good people's character on a day to day basis and claim to be a Moral Authority - give me a break, if you don't live in a black community - what would you know about anything. You come off a hypocritical and holding a double standard. Have you watched the crap Fox puts out? It's disgraceful and an insult to people who have values.

Yeah you are brilliant. Why don't you jump a street corner and hold up a sign saying; "trash Fox at your mama's funeral, a real moonbat value."

I was present on Sunday when Rev. Wright spoke in Norfolk. As is typical of the media they don't tell the whole story. You may think that discussing Fox News is inappropriate at a funeral unless you know that some reporters snuck into the funeral by trying to pass themselves off as mourners. He made his comment about Fox while addressing this. It was one sentence and then he went on. I know it's difficult for many white people to accept a black man who doesn't pander for your approval with everything he says. You find it to be an outrage. It makes me proud.

Wright really stuck it to the media and Fox in particular. But he needs to stay on the high road and leave the historical analysis to others for now. Sensible people can admit the genesis of American racism is slavery. Rev. Wright just needs to use the Word against them and convict them with their own "christian values". That's the ridiculousness and hypocrisy behind American racism and these attacks on his words even though he was quoting a white man, even though he was giving an accurate (but painful) account of US history, even though he has served this nation more than his critics as a Marine and Navy Corpsman attending to LBJ's heart surgery, and even though he has done more to help the poor and needy than most that criticize him.

Thanks robX; it's just a damned shame that the American public does not WANT to know who Rev. Wright really is and that he has done more to help people than anyone of the so-called talking heads as well as the stupid people who did not even bother to listen to his entire sermons. All of them need to give Pastor Wright an apology as he stated accurately what was and is happening every day here in America. How they can even consider voting for that transparent bitch HRC or McLame instead of Obama who has helped so many people just like Pastor Wright, is beyond my understanding. They are absolutely stupid or ignorant for not seeing what great men Wright and Obama truly are. What bigots and fools, and when this country goes to hell (if HRC or McLame win in Nov), they will only have themselves to blame! I'm so glad that I won't be one of them! Thanks for the above - I knew all of it as I researched to I would not be one of the blind/ignorant!

The Trib's writers still are astonished when a famous minister of the Gospel tells people to quote Jesus 1st, last & always. That may be why the Trib posted the story.
