I heard a media commentator say something today that made me pretty dam bitter " he said that people who live in rural areas of the country (who often vote republican) accuse big city democrats of looking down on them, they see the democratic party as elitist; if this were true why is that big city people (who tend to be democrats) always "try" and elect a President that is more concerned about their plight. Obama is attracting the more affluent voter in the country while promising to take more money out of their pockets by rolling back tax cuts, telling them they are going to have to help pay for health care for people, which is not something they need they have health insurance. All the while the republican"s raise their taxes so the rich pay less, cut programs that help their communities, and couldn"t care less if they have access to health care......I"m starting to ask myself why the hell I"m still a democratic frankly, because the republican agenda is better for someone in my tax bracket. Perhaps it"s time I stop insulting these people in rural America for giving a dam about them.

One of the reasons companies give for moving their factories overseas is the low costs of operating. If companies in the US were to take away the cost of health insurance then America would be a very competitive place to operate.

Ironically most of these countries that we relocate to either have universal health care (which GOPers hate) or no semblance of health care (private or public). Therefore American organizations do not have this huge cost to carry for their overseas operations.

Can you imagine how much of a benefit to the private sector universal health care will be right here in the USA?

Here's where Obama goes after his real opponent when he could just as credibly say the same about Clinton (whose health care plan includes a WINDFALL for the protection racke... insurance companies).

Hillary downs a shot and a beer in Indiana. That certainly will get a big laugh from the beer garden crowd. If there's anyone who believes society should be governed by the elite It's McCain and Hillary Clinton. As for McCain and his openness with the press, that has to do with his massive ego. He's a control freak. Where's Vicki?

Sure I"m BITTER

I live in one of the poorest parts of the United States.

Employment on my reservation is over 60%.

I live 90 miles from the nearest small town, Winslow, AZ.
I drive 180 miles round trip to go grocery shopping.
When I spend 1/4 if my grocery money on gas I am extremely BITTER.

In the last year my propane bill for fuel to cook and heat my home
has more then doubled " you could bet I am awfully BITTER when I
have to scrape the money together to pay that bill.

In the past two years I have not had an increase in salary.

We depend on tourism for our lively hood on the reservation. How many
people do you think are going to visit the reservation when gas is
almost $4.00 per gallon here?

Recently many of my friends traveled to Phoenix Arizona to sell their
art at the Heard Museum art show. Many had the worst show of their
lives. When the press is talking recession do you think people are
investing in Native American Art? Let me tell you they are BITTER "
they are very BITTER!

Have I turned to my faith when times are this bad?
You bet who else will listen to me?

Bless your heart. I hope Obama makes things right with all Native Americans because you are TRUE Americans and I hate that you have to hear all the rhetoric from other Americans who seem to not even care about our country any more.

b2008...I know you made a comment from the heart...but after hundreds of years of the Native Americans getting screwed over by the U.S. government, even Obama isn't going to make things "right with all Native Americans" !!!

If you ever want an education on the "forgotten ones" of our country, travel to any reservation. I am very familiar with most in this country, and the Southwest has some of the saddest conditions in our country. The reservations that have casinos and large hotel are doing better than others...some, like the Seminoles in Florida are well off even !!! But this is not the case with all reservations. Visit the Navajo, the Hopi, the Zuni...etc.,it's a sad statement for America.

And to Jaradan...many Native Americans are posting here on HuffPo...however few are on the reservations as with Kwaayesnama. Heck...most Native Americans are not even recognized as such by the U.S. government...as if they are the ones to decide who is a Native American and who is not !!!

Just thought I's mention this !!!

This is really interesting to hear from a Native American person. I rarely get a chance to hear from any Native Americans in person or via the media....

MCCAIN: 'HILLARY CAN STILL PULL IT OFF';
SENATOR PREFERS CLINTON CONTEST
Mon Apr 14 2008 10:46:19 ET

**Exclusive**

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain has confided to his inner circle that Hillary Clinton may yet be the Democratic nominee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, a development the senator from Arizona would personally welcome!

"Look, I know something about long odds, they had me written off last summer," McCain explained over the weekend, according to a top source.

McCain would prefer to go up against Clinton in the general election, insiders reveal.

He has instructed his campaign staff to "chill out" on countering Hillary Clinton's torrent of claims and promises as primary voting comes to an end over the next 6 weeks.

McCain made the tactical decision to downplay Clinton's tale of Bosnia sniper fire, leaving some McCain staffers frustrated and perplexed.

Instead, the critical focus has been on Barack Obama. McCain's official website features 14 press releases taking on Obama since the first of the year, only 3 for the former first lady.

Developing...

BO is really the one that is out of touch. All he's doing, once again, is sounding like a misogynistic *ss demeaning Hillary. So what, she learned how to shoot a gun and hunt. So freakin' what. If he had any COMMON SENSE whatsoever, he'd know that you don't int.o someone's hometown and dis' em. The people in HRC's hometown are going to take that attack very personally. Just like he did when he was dis'ing Hillary in NV, CA, AZ, and TX -- Latinos know and love Hillary. So, when the dumb*ss starting dis'ing her -- they took it personally, then his response was that they were racist -- pizzed em off even more. This guy just does NOT get it

Until any of these polling groups posts a plot that shows the proportions of all their demographics geographically across the state, anyone believing ANY of the PA polls at face value is an [insert censor-friendly invective for unintelligent, gullible person here].

If you split up this state by cultural boundaries, you'd get at least 4 or 5 sub-states. If you oversample in any of them you will get b.s. results. These things are not very much worse than my claiming that where I live in the western suburbs of Philly, Obama signs outnumber hillary signs at least 10 - 1. Therefore, Obama is winning 90% - 10%.

The only thing that hurts is having no credible data... and having to listen to blowhards who take non-credible data - just like the font of lies flowing from the clintons - as gospel.

Gee, you're the one who is willing to accept worse than GWB..McCain wasn't good enough for the pugs seven years ago, but you are willing to put him in as President now? His only platform is bomb, bomb, bomb...if it is possible, I guess things could be worse than GWB.

To give Bill Clinton his due, he was masterful in debates against the Republican candidates in '92 and '96. Gore did very well in 2000, but not as well as he should have; he would do much better today. John Kerry was, well, John Kerry. Obama in debates against McCain will be a revelation, and McCain, if he has any sense, will wear leg braces to keep his knees from knocking. I hope they have more free-form style debates in the GE, not those things where the candidates can barely look at each other. When Obama has the chance to get into a real dialogue with McCain, it will be more than a referendum against McCain himself. It will be a triumph over the current stunted incarnation of conservative thinking that will bring victories for many progressive candidates across the country, and will leave McCain thinking seriously about "early" retirement, and a long, long rest.

Meantime, we just need a few more delegates, and the resolve to endure Hillary's twisted realities for a few more weeks.

That is why they are trying to knock out Obama. He would eat Grandpa's lunch on national TV. He is not even man enough to stand up for his own family's reputation. Why is he considered such a mensch? How he even think about cozying to the same people who tried their best to degrade him and his family is beyond me. I guess that's not a family value.

This Florida poll out today is revealing- and proves that Hillary is the stronger general election candidate- note that Hillary wins FL against McCain while McCain wins against Obama-

Florida: McCain vs. Clinton Rasmussen McCain 44, Clinton 45, Und 11 Clinton +1
Florida: McCain vs. Obama Rasmussen McCain 53, Obama 38, Und 9 McCain +15

Well I guess that settles it. Rasmussen has looked into the future and you of course believe it. Wasn't rasmussen the one who predicted Obama to thrash Hillary in New Hampshire? Stop living int he fantasy world and accept the fact that your candidate is the real elitist. I mean really.....when is the last time she filled up her car with gas or bought a gallon of milk? She has had staffers and servants drive her around, buy her gorceries, pay her bills, and write her speeches for at least the last 16 years. How in the world can you believe that she is in touch with what "living in America" is really about? Wake up!!!

Will you please stop the Faux News style of cherry picking one single poll which supports your position? O'Reilly or Hannity would be so very proud of you. Please try to put some objectivity in your life. There are plenty of polls from more reputable polling entities which show a much closer race. In the Faux News tradition you fail to see the forest for the trees.

You seem to care more about polls than you care about your candidate. Are you sure you want a LIAR in the white house? Are you sure you want a womanizing husband running loose with nothing to do in the white house? Are you sure you want a husband who makes deals behind his wife's back (or front) that she says she doesn't approve of in the white house?

Yet you tell us that Florida has her winning in the polls. Isn't there other things you need to think about first?
