I just finished watching her interview with Colbert. Boy, did he take it easy on her. He just let her give the stock campaign rhetoric. I imagine he'll go easy on Clinton, too.

I sure hope you can get the interview on HUffPo since the Cox Cable company and a two minute monthly broadcast required test duirng the major part of her interview. This Cable company often seems to have these tests about the time someone criticizes something they support or the Bush admiistration in general. I don't know if it was system wide or just in Kansas. My mute automatic closed caption would not even pick up the usual caption printing while it was on, so I think it was deliberate as it usually seems and I am happy to give them the bad publicity they so richly deserve.

I watched her interview with Larry King and was absolutely fascinated and mesmerized by this woman's remarkable composure, style, grace and body language. There's an incredible confidence conveyed by a person who can look another in the eye, hold that gaze and speak in evenly modulated tones. An inherently honest person has no need to avert their eyes, pepper their sentences with stammering "ummm"s or engage in that wretched wagging of the thumb atop a clenched fist.
Prediction: Colbert will fall under her spell.
Look, I know that both Obamas are far to the left of me, but I don't care. I have sufficient confidence in our divided govt. and despite their flaws, a Congress that (usually) keeps Presidents from having too much power. I love the idea of a young family with 2 small kids back in the White House and I think Michelle would make one helluva classy First Lady.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:00 AM on 04/15/2008

Well, I hope the colbert interview is shown her with sound as you can see by my post above, I did not hear half of it through no fault of my own. Darn Cable company jerks. I hope you caught it tonight just now and can report further.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:03 AM on 04/16/2008

What do you mean? There is already two small kids in the white house, Bush and Cheney.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:01 AM on 04/16/2008

Love your post.

One of the great things about the Obama campaign is how it has brought unlikely people together. I'm to the left of the Obama's but have been stricken by the candor, decency and compassion of so many of his conservative and moderate followers.

Shows how in many ways we are all more than the sum of our politics.

I'm for anyone now who is open minded, fair, kind, honest and has a desire to fix this country no matter who they are or what their personal politics may be.

" I love the idea of a young family with 2 small kids back in the White House"

Absolutely! Talk about real family values. I'd love to see this too.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:51 PM on 04/15/2008

Thanks for letting us know. I'll definetely tune in to that one. Can't wait to see what blooper Michelle makes this time to sabatoge her husband's campaign further.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:06 AM on 04/15/2008

Hillary saw your comment and was disappointed. You call those teeth, you call them nails, this is the best you can do? Take the gloves off. ('blooper,' that's a cute old lady's word, thanks cute old lady!)

I think Barack needs to go on Colbert also. It's unfortunate but true. Appearances on these kinds of shows boost candidates ratings. Barack, please reconsider and appear on Colbert. The BUMP awaits.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:03 AM on 04/15/2008

I think it's a smart move by Obama. If he were to go on Colbert, it would be a battle between two presidential candidates. With Michelle going on Colbert, it is a battle between a former and a future First Lady. Clinton is wasting time doing all these comedy gigs. That did work in the past, but 2008 is a different breed of election year. Obama is the candidate with gravitas. People are hurting, the Bush administration needs to be pursued in the courts for its crimes. These will get more votes than the fluff Clinton is offering.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:55 PM on 04/15/2008

He said Hillary will be on too : Go Colbert BUMP

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:17 PM on 04/14/2008

Hope she doesn't "mispeak" like she usually does!

What an embarassment she has become!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:14 PM on 04/15/2008

She might blow it. She comes off as too bitter about losing.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:25 PM on 04/14/2008

I hope she is proud enough of America by now.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:29 PM on 04/14/2008

I'm white, and I'm still not proud of what this country is doing, under the control of bush and his fellow bullies. Are you proud?????????????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:14 PM on 04/15/2008

well, I guess she is still thinking about it, it all dependes if Mr O. gets the nomination or not

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:04 PM on 04/15/2008

Can we be proud now? Bad war, bad economy, worthless dollar, it won't get much worse.
I say, nothing to be proud of, country anyway!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 03:10 PM on 04/15/2008

I am proud of being the best country in the third world. At least we have toilet paper.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:14 PM on 04/14/2008

Still have your Bush-Cheney sticker?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:35 PM on 04/14/2008

My idea of debate heaven?
To have a debate, any debate, hosted by Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart.
Why not? They couldn't do any worse that Anderson Cooper and Tim Russert, and they would probably do one hell of a great job. Co.bert and Stewart actually care about the issues, as opposed to trying to make themselves look respectable.
I suspect that it would be a debate played over and over again for years to come, as an example of how to get the candidates exposed for who they are and what they stand for.
Any one remember Colbert's Comic Monologue at the White House Correspondents' Dinner? It was the best come-uppance anyone has yet delivered to Bush and Rove, and in a perfect world would be played on prime time TV.

Please comedy central, can't you guys conduct a debate sometime this year?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:01 PM on 04/14/2008

How about a debate hosted by Joy Behar and Dave Chappelle? Would that not be more representative of the current stream of things?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:43 PM on 04/14/2008

OMG! Do you mean a moderator of a debate might ask a question that is relevant to the Actual situations that this country is in? (Military, Economic, Social, Medical, etc.) I wouldn't think that is allowed. We have to have softball questions like, "do you like your opponent", or "do you go to church?" or "What china pattern will you choose when you're President?"

It really is a sad statement about the mainstream media that we look to news parody shows for the real news! Cut through the snide comments and the truth is there. Watch the evening news and feel all warm and cuddly because the firedepartment got the kitten out of the tree. On rare occassions, a reporter grows a spine and asks a difficult question at a press conference. But don't expect to see a repeat performance.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:06 PM on 04/14/2008

Great idea! I'd pay to watch that one!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:17 PM on 04/14/2008

Good for her! It takes courage to go on Colbert. She'll do just fine.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:59 PM on 04/14/2008

i've heard her introduction to her husband.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nqCYFpUAJ2Q&feature=related
I was quite impressed.
It is taking quite a chance for her to go head to head with an improv master like Colbert, but I'm hoping he gives Obama the famous Colbert bump.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:50 PM on 04/14/2008

I expect that Colbert will fold, or at least pull his punches with Michelle Obama.

There's a ton load of fun he could have with her but I suspect he won't have quite the edge he's had with other liberals. Even Colbert would not be immune from charges of playing the race card; and I'm not sure Obamanistas would really get it anyway if Colbert were his usual slammin' self.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:06 AM on 04/15/2008

I agree. He's not going to take any chances.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:50 PM on 04/15/2008

not sure if it works for spouses , We will see the COLBERT BUMP when HILLARY goes on!!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:32 PM on 04/14/2008

Looks like KKK gang is out in full force, complete with toothless guest artists Mattie and Chiman1 waving their made-in-China American flags in one hand and holding a cross in the other. Even the hoods look washed.

What's up gang, a cross-burning tonight?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:46 PM on 04/14/2008

Full Force -- hell! more like King-size white sheet! I have a little "dinner invite "for you. Chat Room?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:39 PM on 04/14/2008

Yup.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:29 PM on 04/14/2008

Obama is a Stepford husband.

His wife makes Hillary Clinton look shy and quiet in comparison.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:30 PM on 04/14/2008

That is totally true. Did you see her in the CNN forum last night? She was horrible.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:46 PM on 04/14/2008

... says another toothless one agreeing with the first redneck.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:51 PM on 04/14/2008

Oh! Here comes another genius with his great observation.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:35 PM on 04/14/2008

I stood stationary for nearly two hours, listening to her talk in a jam packed Hall. By the time she was done, I was sweating from the collective heat of the crowd, and my knees were starting to ache and my feet couldnt decide whether they wanted to go numb or just keep tingling in a painful '1000 knives stabbing everywhere' kinda way. You might think I was glad to have a chance to go sit down and cool off but, I would have stood for 8 hours if she kept talking; and i'd of voted for her if she was the Obama on the ballot (I probably would of voted for her if that other Obama was on the ballot too). Beautiful woman, magnificent person, but most of all...she is Real. I saw no teleprompter in the room, no script on a podium for her read from. What I witnessed was a pure, straightforward, and from the heart telling of her life and the problems we all face, and face together.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:30 PM on 04/14/2008

Excellent post - and so good to hear from someone who actual has real life experience and not just a judgemental blogger. Thanks.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:42 PM on 04/14/2008

Man! I would just love to see Michelle as our First Lady. Had enough of that Stepford wife Laura. My last favorite Fist Lady was Hillary, but now she sounds more like a Republican.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:27 PM on 04/14/2008

She'll probably say someting else stupid. They done a good job of keeping her in the background lately. I hope she heeds she shows some restraint.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:22 PM on 04/14/2008

Ya, her backgrounds pretty important, its called raising kids while Barack is away. Who woulda thought?
