Former president Bill Clinton's campaign rally this morning at the junior high gym in Corydon, Indiana was a wealth of Hillary Clinton surrogates, among them many who had their own thoughts about Sen. Barack Obama's recent comments about small town voters....

Over seven stops in North Carolina, Clinton said "Everywhere I go there are all these people with signs, saying I'm not bitter - I'm not bitter."

The reality is that Obama shot himself in the foot with this statement. There is no sugar coating this. My response, as an Obama supporter, who has contributed to his campaign, was HOW COULD HE BE SO STUPID?!!

He virtually had the thing won and had Hillary on the ropes, and then he does something like that. Hopefully this is only a flesh wound and not a fatal one. If the Democrats have to go with Hillary, they are doomed. She already had the strongest negatives of any major candidate before she started he war of total inihalation against Obama. This campaign has made her even more disliked. By now she is virtually unelectable and if she were still to get the nomination would most likely lose, leaving the country stuck with senile old war monger McCain.

He still has the thing won. Don't let the "rootin' tootin' splittin' hairs team" fool you. When Obama and Hillary each showed up at the same event and talked about this in turn a few days ago, the crowd cheered Obama and boo'd Hillary. All this latest flap is doing is giving the MSM jockeys something to flap their jaws over.

That big huge black vote for the Clintons left in South Carolina, months ago. Hello President McShame.
When everything is hitting the bottom. Do you people who go to church and gun shops read economic publications? Maybe he (Obama) should have been a little bolder. My father worked for Chrysler Foundry for 44 years, layoffs (union) . What would he want with a gun? People say he was the most religious person they knew and even though he sent his children to Church on Sundays, he rarely attended himself. He knew the difference between church and state.

First they hand out some stickers to a few people, then claim they saw some stickers! Is there no bottom to the depth these frauds will stoop?

"Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation " one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman"s 17-year career.

Why?

'Because she was a liar,' Zeifman said in an interview last week. 'She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.'"

A pathetic end to a triangulating fraud. Let's attack the other guy for describing the reality of the situation. let's forget that 16 years ago, I said the same thing in a different way. Whichever tactic provides temporary advantage, let's use. Let's lie when it appears useful and use any kind of contradictory tactic based strictly on political advantage. Let's use an anti-intellectual approach because those with any discernment will quickly be able to spot the complete bogusness of our claim to power. Those who fall for such a campaign (or McCain's permanent Orwellian warfare plan) will deserve everything they get when things go precipitously downhill. Unfortunately, those of us discerning enough to see through them will also be similarly damaged.

Anyone who lost a job due to NAFTA add five points. Those of you who lost health insurance add five points. Those of you whose check runs out before the next one comes add five points. Those of you who are having to go without to feed your kids add five points. Those of you who are driving a car that might not make it until you can afford to get it fixed add five points, Those of you who have a job that you should have gotten a cost of living raise, add five points. Those of you who are amking what used to be middle income wages add five points. Those of you who have money saved for that rainy day add five points. Those of you who fall into the working poor where SCHIP would not help if your kid was sick add five points. Who among us is bankrupt but cannot afford to file add five points. Anyone who has lost their house add five points. Less than twenty points you can afford to be angry and vote for your choice. Those above 35 points maybe should look at how very angry you can get and be able to do nothing about it. Over 50 if you are not angry and bitter you might need to re think your life. No one but Barack wants to help us change these things.

Here's something that really pissed me off. Bill is running around making sure that every one knows what Oboma said. Check out what he said. Hilliary needs to comment on this.

As the rumination continues over Barack Obama's comments about economically-depressed small town voters, statements made by Bill Clinton on the same topic -- uttered while he was running for president in 1991 -- have now surfaced.

"The reason (George H. W. Bush's tactic) works so well now is that you have all these economically insecure white people who are scared to death," Clinton was quoted saying by the Los Angeles Times in September 1991.

A couple months later, Joe Klein, writing for the Sunday Times, reported that Clinton made the following remarks:

"You know, he [Bush] wants to divide us over race. I'm from the South. I understand this. This quota deal they're gonna pull in the next election is the same old scam they've been pulling on us for decade after decade after decade. There is more, please read at websitedd below

One of my favorite fairy tales was of Hillary throwing a shot back and a beer all in the same day.

How much more desperate can she get? She is beyond throwing the kitchen sink into this ring.

She is using kitchen knives to stab her opponent in the back. Shame on her indeed!
I thought she wanted the Democratic Party to prevail in 2008.

I saw a newsclip of Barack drinking a beer at the bowling alley (he was quite natural and relaxed about it not knowing the camera was on him). Hillary drank her beer (and her shot) as she was looking for the best angle to be camera shot from for best affect.

Oh Brother!

Annie go get your gun!
Wild Bill is ready to go to town for a trist with a prostitute.

We don't need him disgracing the White House a second time.

I missed the "Hillary tossing back a shot" clip but saw the beer video. She didn't get the mug near her mouth until a stooge in a dark suit leaned in and whispered to her.
Can anyone else imagine the instructions?
"Camera behind me is on you, lift the mug to your mouth and act like you're drinking it. No, Hillary, don't chug it. Dainty sips. No, it's not the same as downing shots. Try to act natural. Well, try harder."

Am I bitter my mother's cancer wasn't diagnosed in time due to improper healthcare? YES!

Am I bitter that I played by the rules, went to college and earned a degree but still have to decide between bouncing a check and paying bills? You BET

Many years ago, if my husband and I had the same careers we have now, we would have been middle to upper class in this area. Now, we are the working poor. Struggling to pay everyone and keep food on the table the house in our names.

I don't understand why Pennsylvanians would want more of this life or why anyone would!

Please note that Obama's comments were directed at what many people in these areas focus on politically. People worry about their right to have guns-they should be worried if they can afford to buy one. They worry about immigrants being their neighbor-they should be worrying if they can keep their house! Where is the offense in finding refuge in the church? While many of us go to church regardless, when times are tough, even the faithless tend to ask God and the church for help or solace. These are truths and if people can't accept these truths, then how are they going to accept the harder times to come if the wrong candidate is chosen?

These are my thoughts from 'small town Pa'

Our ability to live comfortably began it's deterioration under Reagan. We were given a good start toward recovery during the Clinton years, but Bush was able to wipe that out and cut twice as deep into our financial classes as his father had.

I'd like to have our recovery term managed by someone who has more experience than Obama does. All politicians are liars, and give us a pack of rhetoric. But, we have a history of 8 years with the Clinton's, and the economy did a remarkable turn. The Clinton's truly have dedicated their lives to helping the middle and lower classes. No one trashes the Kennedy's for being rich, so I'm at a loss for why the extreme level of hatred for the Clintons.

I'm thinking most of the people who post here as Obama supporters are really Republicans trying to make sure Clinton supporters don't vote for him should he be the one who gets the nomination.

Your post is more newsworthy than the reports that John McCain also found Obama's comments to be "elitist," and that he thought the people of PA were "disparaged" by them. Thanks for proving McCain and Clinton wrong.

What Obama was saying is that when people do not feel that their government listens to them, that when over the years of Dems and Repubs...jobs go and the young people leave...that all the people can do is vote on what they have...religion, guns, immigration. They are lost in the world with what they have known leaving...their jobs their kids, their hope.

Obama didn't say it well..but he said the same thing in 2004 on the Charley Rose show...he was on for an hour and it is very good.

I think he was trying to say that voters don't believe that have a effective goverment is possible, so they vote on wedge issues such as right to bear arms and the abortion issue. But somehow his point has been all twisted up.
He was actually attempting to defend small town values to the San Fran crowd.
But the press or the Clintons will never tell you that.

Former President Bill Clinton is simply angry (and bitter) that Senator Obama again pointed out that President Bill Clinton's trade policies (which lacked what President Clinton promised while campaigning the trade deals would include -- specifically real labor enforcement provisions) caused devastation in many places in America. He is alluding to "stickers" Senator Clinton's own campaign distributed in North Carolina, that the good people there rejected in mass. I still wish that former President Bill Clinton had remained above this fray and retained his dignity, but he didn't and there is nothing anyone can do about it now.

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/04/12/882730.aspx

Specifically, here is the relevant excerpt:

"In Goldsboro, close observers noticed a (light) smattering of stickers being worn by attendees. "I'm not bitter!" read the simple rectangular label on the lapels of a couple dozen in the crowd. The campaign says that the stickers are evidence of outrage at the grassroots level.

Yet it's unclear how spontaneous the sentiment was. A boxful of the stickers was spotted at Clinton's first event of the day -- being whisked backstage."

Note to KimberlyKay;
What dignity? Former president Clinton squandered what little he had left when he horned in on his wife's campaign. Bill Clinton has what I call the Kahunna Complex; he wants to be the only big cheese in the fridge. From Day One it's been one classic example of passive/agressive sabotage after another. He opens his mouth and her numbers plummet. He's done more damage to Hillary Clinton's political career than she has with her "embellished" resume and rewritten history. Someone at the honcho level in the DNC should sit the two Clintons down and explain how easy they're making the McBush job of stealing the Oval Office again. .

One lady even said she didn't know what the stickers meant. She was clueless. Boy what a low blow to have stickers made up saying something like that.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:25 PM on 04/14/2008

And then the Clinton campaign said the stickers were an idea from one of their volunteers. There they go passing the buck again.

So did the volunteer have the stickers made up or what?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:29 PM on 04/14/2008

No, Senator Clinton's campaign admitted they made up and distributed the stickers, but claimed that the "idea" for the stickers came from a volunteer. The strangest thing was that few in North Carolina wanted anything to do with any of the stickers.
