NEW YORK — First lady Laura Bush will be "guest host" for an hour of NBC's "Today" show next week.

The network said she'll host the 9 a.m. EDT hour April 22, the morning of the Pennsylvania primary. By that time in the four-hour morning show, politics is usually set aside for issues that affect women, who make up the majority of the audience during that time period.

Mrs. Bush will participate in several segments and interviews, NBC said Tuesday.

She will be joined earlier in the broadcast by her daughter Jenna to talk about their new children's book, "Read All About It!"

The first lady will also give Ann Curry a tour of the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas.

Well, why don't they just crawl into bed with her and damn the objectivity the news is supposed to possess.

Thanks for the warning, but I never watch it anyway.

Maybe they could ask her to interview Lewis Black.

What a snoozer that'll be. Remember when highly placed political figures (and spouses) stayed separate from the spying eyes of the media? Tried to maintain a semblance of dignity? Now not only political figures, but the network news anchors themselves show up on comedy shows, making fools of themselves, just being one of "us". No more sense of decorum. The dumbing down and leveling out of every social strata. Aside from all that Laura Bush is just plain dull.

Imagine NBC, owned by GE, having "Lady" Laura host their morning Today Show.

Who could have ever thought GE, WAR WEAPONS MANUFACTURER, with

recent losses in the Market, would ever bring Mrs. Warmonger to the public?

The two go hand in hand.

Expect "Lady" Laura to talk about her daughter's upcoming May wedding.

SO SWEET!

However do not expect her to discuss the 4,000 + dead American soldiers

who are missed by their spouses and families or who never got the chance to get married.

NBC SHOULD CHOKE ON THIS WARMONGERING HOUR!

NO WONDER WE CAN'T GET REAL NEWS FROM THIS NETWORK.

At least Laura can cop an insanity plea, if they ever put that bunch on trial. I truly believe she doesn't have a clue what her husband has been up to. Either that or she is on powerfull medication, or like Bush himself, found a way to insulate herself from the real world.

I can't even fathom who would want to watch this woman. NBC is headed for a huge ratings loss. ICK!

This just solidifies my belief that the Today Show has gone down the toilet. If there is anything of substance in this show at all it happens in the first 20 minutes - after that it is all entertainment and gossip. Ooh, a tour of the "ranch" with schmaltzy Ann Curry. I'm sure Ann will find something to gush about. Oh, I know! She's gonna help clear brush! Laura Bush - ha! is anyone home there in that head? And while I'm at it, how much energy is GE wasting by sending Matt Lauer around the world - again!? I'd rather watch something of substance, say, National Geographic or something similar. I could go on and on.... this makes me want to vomit.

I don't think she looks like Eva Braun.

Well, I'm disappointed. She couldn't get "guest judge" on "American Idol"?

Have you noticed that she has that blank stare like those chicks from the polygamist's ranch?

Whoa! I see similarities.

I wonder who she had to run over to get this gig...

And the ratings plummet!!!

Where's Katie when you need her???

Bobblehead Laura. I can't even stand to watch her - anyone notice how her head bobs all the time. She must be in the early stages of parkinsons disease. What a worthless first lady she is/was.

...and halfway through the segment Meredith Vieira quietly points out that Laura is interviewing a coffee mug.

WTF!!! She's married to the dictator in chief.

Maybe she is trying to get her own show, when they finally leave the White House, gag me with
a spoon...

My only question is WHY???

In addition to WHY???
add
WHY NOW???
Is she only now trying to appear relevant?
Two word;. TOO LATE

"By that time in the four-hour morning show, politics is usually set aside for issues that affect women..."
Was everyone too busy hating the Bushes (which, granted, is pretty easy to do) and the news outlets (also not a difficult task) to notice the incredibly sexist implications of this sentence?

"NBC is owned by the General Electric Co."...

...who make weapons for Bush's war(s).

So she's concerned about "issues that affect women, who make up the majority of the audience during that time period."

...what about the women of Iraq whose lives have been made a living hell by her moronic husband and his gang of war criminals?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:25 PM on 04/15/2008

She must be completely clueless, staying married to the worst president ever. Did I mention boring?

WILL SHE LET AMERICANS KNOW THAT HER HUSBAND BELIEVE IN TORTURE AND WHERE HE HAS PUT AMERICA DOWN THE TUBE

Great...that ought to bring the I.Q. up for that show to a respectable 38...

Pretty fitting. I can't bear to watch the Today show at all. I sometimes catch some of the Early Show - at least they have Harry Smith and Russ Mitchell. The best comment I can make about the rest of the cast is no comment at all.

Anyone remember when she thought this year's Christmas tree was the best of all, but then she thinks that every year, but this year she really thinks that's what she thinks.

So, all tortured logic and associated blathering in our house is now known as Laura Bushing.

Dave Garroway, Jack Lescoulie, Edwin Newman - we need you now.
