Barack Obama said yesterday that Hillary Clinton is using attacks from the GOP playbook. Today his campaign circulated a fundraising letter, charging that Hillary Clinton and John McCain are using the "the very same words" to attack him. Obama isn't the only one who says it's two against one. The Washington Post points out that Hillary and John McCain are sounding like they are in an echo chamber when it comes to attacking Obama these days.

Sen. John McCain joined in the criticism of Sen. Barack Obama yesterday for Obama's comments about "bitter" victims of small-town economic distress, while Obama's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination weighed in with a tough new ad on the controversy.

Speaking at a gathering of newspaper editors and executives in Washington, McCain echoed the rebuke voiced repeatedly by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, calling Obama's characterization "a contradiction from what I believe America is all about."

Clinton will say anything, morph into any ideology, to derail "upstart" Obama's bid for the nomination. She's perfectly comfortable adopting right wing spin machine tactics regarding her continual distortion of Obama, his positions and some of his more controversial (though still insightful) comments. Her insistence, that only she and John M have the needed experience to cross the C&C threshold (really, who's threshold? Was that lie ever shot full of holes), exposes her machiavellian, scorched earth philosophy.

What are you really saying, Hillary? That McCain is more qualified to be be president than the leading Democratic rival? That you, and only you, can save the party and the nation? Pass me the barf bag!

This is 2008, and in 2008 bitter voters are propelling a man whose last two names are one consonant shy of Hussein Osama to the White House. This would be akin to Brits kicking Churchill out by voting for a guy named Tojo Hitler during World War 2.

It's the repudiation, stupid.

Republicans, your ass is Bush and Obama's the lawn mower.

Obama is already crying foul, and he has not even made it to the war. He is still in basic training, a recruit. He has not even really seen or heard a shot fired in anger. He is on the beach, with his supporters, and the Republican invasion fleet is 4 months away, all guns loaded, waiting to blast him back to the oblivion of the senate where he has voted the same as all the rest in what is now the helpless senate.

Very good, this is exactly right. I can't believe I keep reading hyped articles about how dirty Hillary's campaign is, when I can't remember a primary in my extended lifetime that has been so carefully civil. This primary has used every kid-glove of political correctness that could possibly be used, the way I see it. Every attempt to point out the slightest imperfection of Obama is met with waves of false shock about the bitterness of the campaign.
Of Course John McCain and Hilary are saying similar, things about Obama, he is running against both of them at this point. What the hell does he expect?
Isn't this an elitism of a sort to not realize that your political opponent is going to be critical of you?

Excellent point. Republicans have their own problems but lack of experience isn't one of them.

The are hoping for a much easier target my friend, your McClinton candidate. She runs with them and she plays like them. She attacks like them and she laughs at you for being such a sucker that you believer her, just like they do. She is cut from the same cloth, having to fain compassion for the camera, because it doesn't exist inside of her.

Republican Hillary -- all the way---- Until they get her in their sites.

And bamb! You think Bosnia was a problem for her? Just wait.
They have 8 years of Monica Lewinsky and flip-flopping on NAFTA.
They have her history in the Whitewater Scandal, Black Panther sympathizing, Marxist law firm, fired from jobs for being a b***h, basically.

The Clintons were just sued last year for Fraud and Deceit, Negligent misrepresentation, unfair business practices, unjust enrichment and civil conspiracy. The judge dismissed on "procedural grounds". But this is by far, over. The republicans are going to blast these court documents on how they screwed this guy out of his campaign donation money for a fund raiser he threw for them (spiderman creator Peter Paul) all over their attack ads. And, if you think he is going to keep his mouth shut you are crazy....

What is going to happen to them over this will make the "bittergate" look like a playground tuggle over who's next to go up the sliding board ladder. Which, in fact, it is.

There is no easier candidate to beat than Obama. That's basic reality. He has 100% support of a tiiny niche base and almost 100% rejection from everybody else. In the dem primaries, he's managed to get 14 million votes, while systematically alienating everybody else. The general election requires at least 50 million votes to win. He's done a great job of tapping out his base and ensuring that he cannot begin to recover the remaining 35 million voters.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:30 AM on 04/16/2008

I guess that's why he's beating Hillary by 10+ points in the national polls of Dems, and beating McCain in national polls of all likely voters (while Clinton is losing to McCain). Man, that must be some kinda big niche base!

Obama has a right to be alarmed. If he fools the Dems into giving him the nomination, he will be facing a trouncing of landslide proportions. He is too far to the left, inexperienced and an elitist.

LOL

Wait, ResidentChimp, you forgot a few more talking points from your campaign's agenda. Go back to your party book. I think you missed some spots. Your campaign will then be more proud of you.

BTW, are you working for the ResidentChimp himself? Or are you aiding his planned heir apparent?

I agree. It is an insult to hermaphrodites everywhere. It is as sickening as the insult to transexuals when they referred ann coulter as a transexual. Elections are too long and the internet makes them longer and rather sickening.

Folks, you have to understand big business or in this case a blog that is trying to be big business: The Huffington Post.

You see last Friday, the HuffPo broke the "BITTER" news about "TYPICAL", "GUTTER-BALL" POLITICIAN OBAMA. As many of you have already noticed, the HuffPo is INFESTED with Obama-MANIACS. Those maniacs make up a good part of the total web page views this site gets daily, page views mean advertising dollars!

So in order to appease them and not lose their loyal daily blogging, the HuffPo has been coming up with silly articles to keep them occupied.

As a P.R.O. (POSITIVE, RESILIENT, and OPTIMISTIC) Hillary supporter, I completely understand HuffPo's business and psychological strategy. As you can see they Obama-bots are the only ones commenting on these sophomoric articles. More reputable media does not even bring it up. Clearly none of them have mentioned anything about Bill Clinton's "insecure white people" comment. Perhaps it is not even true. Let me also mention, that the HuffPo understand Bill Clinton still has a lot of pull, whether democrat, republican or obamacan, they feature him frequently in large "front page" photo shots with big headlines.

Reminds of of the tabloids in London that use to feature Princess Diana every single day, the papers sold and had excellent circulation. Maybe, we should call him King Bubba! Waiting for the next Bubba headline!

Oh ?

How about the equal number of people they are driving away who are not Obama supporters ? Why ?
So many of their good blogs gets chuched. How do I know that ?
Mine gets thrown away, so many times, even I follow the rules, vile language is not my forte. Only negative point in Huffo against me and many like me, would be I am a Hillary supporter.

We're in the same boat, Bulbul. I have had the first comment many times in many different threads, only to have them scrubbed because they don't follow the "worship Obama" attitude of this site. That's okay. Come November they'll need us only to find most of us have moved on to greener pastures.

By the way, Clinton just received a big union endorsement. It's on the Yahoo website.

Wow. "Obamabot" "Obama-maniac" and "infested" all in one post!

Do you ever wonder if there is something wrong with you that you would find it appropriate to label people you don't even know in such a way? I mean, you've condescended and implied that no one who supports Obama could possibly be rational, right?

I am sure you are not STUPID so you must realize that such a sweeping and oh! sophomoric! generalization could not possibly be accurate. Therefore your only reason for posting it is to try elevate yourself by tearing down others. And to do it so smugly, with such oh! BITTER malice!

Thank you for your rant. It is duly noted.

The image is "beyond the pale" for Billary backers supporting their long running effort to betray the party for personal ambition because it portrays the reality in a nut shell. The image is effective. A curse on the knaves and fools who still support the billary dynastic anti-party campaign.

Posting this image is beyond the pale. As a Democrat who was finally pushed over the fence into the Hillary camp largely on account of displays of deranged Hillary-hate, like this, I'm growing ever more concerned about the sanity of those I thought shared my progressive values. Because if you're aligning yourselves with the judgement of people like Andrew Sullivan (consistently bad, except with regard to the torture and marriage equality issues) and applauding acting out like Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter (I'm looking at you, Keith, except that I haven't been able to watch your show for the last month or mroe) and think THAT's the way to persuade anyone besides your fellow travellers that Obama's candidacy is the only path to reclaiming our country, I fear we're all going to be screwed by mister Mcain -- big time. Get over yourselves, let the primary play out, and prepare to actually Promote the Dem contender in November. Please.

Please. This is the same kind of disingenuous, manufactured, pseudo-outrage that Hillary and her fellow Republican-style candidates try to pass off as real reactions to what are for the most part non-events. That anybody could somehow find the illustration for this article more disturbing than Hillary saying that she and John McCain have the experience to be President while all Obama has is a speech is ludicrous. And then to go on and suggest that it is Obama's campaign that is somehow undermining the Democratic party and the potential for a Democrat to win in November is just downright silly.

Right on, urgk. Self-righteous indignation seems to run high with a lot of posters here, and it's often coupled with tender sensibilities that are easily bruised.

Frankly, I'm always suspicious when someone posts along the lines of, "I became a supporter of Candidate X when it became clear how many people really hate Candidate X."

Anybody who writes that is either a troll, or in serious need of some psychiatric intervention. It's that kind of thinking that leads to copycat crimes and the wearing of "Free Charles Manson" t-shirts.
