MADONNA is to sign the most lucrative contracts of her career - playing two gigs in Dubai for £12.5MILLION...

The Queen Of Pop is finalising negotiations on a deal to finish her forthcoming world tour in the oil-rich Arab state in November.

By my calculations, if one of the gigs - for which she will get £7.5million - runs to 90 minutes she will pocket a staggering £83,333 [about $165,000] a minute.

That's a pretty impressive pay day by any standards.

And if that wasn't enough, she is also in talks to perform at a private party for a mystery punter while she is out there which will earn her another £5million.

My Madge man told me: "Madonna is about to break another record by playing the most lucrative concert of her whole career - or anyone's career for that matter.

"She worked her ass off for years". And threw it in our faces for just as long by calling it "art".

I have liked Madonna for years especially for her in your face attitude. I'll take her music over today's country music which resembles recycled eighties rock.

Same old same old. She's always been about the money, not the music. She borrows popular trends and rides them as long as they last. She'll wear anything, change the way she talks, pose inappropriately, do whatever it takes to make more money. It's boring.

"she's in it for the money"?
Of course!
It's the entertainment business, not a social cause.
Sheesh.
Good for her.
If you're gonna' perform for those filthy rich oilmen in Dubai
Make 'em pay big time.

This didn't happen overnight for Madonna, She's worked her A** off for over 25 years, and is still going to strong. To EVEN be in the position to get paid that amount, in a world where women are marginalized, and looked down upon after turning 23 as "washed up", she has earned every cent and deserves whatever she can demand. Hey, starting out in NYC working at Dunkin' Donuts and eating out of the garbage can, she truly is an example of what hard work, dedication, and never stopping or saying no can do. She's quite an Inspiration to many around the world. She still doesn't make nearly as much as some men do, i.e. John Paulson, made $3.7 billion last year, George Soros earned almost $3 billion last year, in fact, the combined top 50 hedge fund managers last year earned $29 Billion (That's with a B)!! Madonna's pay day pails in comparison to Wall Street Titans and I betcha she works at least three times as hard! Go Madge!

Irony: while President Bush fights a war to "bring democracy to the Middle East", Madonna, a woman who epitomizes the opposite of the exemplary woman of Muslim extremism, is set to perform in the United Arab Emirates, a union of Arab nations where democracy is developing on its own.

That is a heckuva lot of money. Having seen her in concert she is worth it and I don't blame her for taking a load of money if it is offered but that amount is obscene. I am sure she will donate much of it to charity.

Can anybody explain to me why one person is worth that much money? I understand that she has a talent, but is that talent worth that much money? No wonder this world is in the toilet.

She is worth whatever one is willing to pay her! That's the bottom line!

of course she isnt worth that money..and not because she doesnt even have talent.
its because no one should be a position where they could afford to give her that money.

your right the world is in a toilet because people allow children to suffer and starve and glorify this kind of waste.
