Barack Obama on Saturday accused rival Hillary Clinton of internalizing "a lot of the strategies and tactics that have made Washington such a miserable place," while Clinton implied that Obama's sensitivity in their last debate showed that he isn't ready for the "overwhelming" pressures of a general election.

By foot, bus and train, the two Democratic presidential rivals criss-crossed Pennsylvania making competing pitches for voters in Tuesday's crucial primary.

Obama, the underdog in this state, went on the attack, while Clinton's criticisms of her opponent were more subtle.

Obama accused Clinton of flip-flopping her positions on the Iraq war and trade policy to match popular opinion. He also organized a conference call in which Pennsylvania veterans who served in Bosnia slammed Clinton for her erroneous recollections of coming under sniper fire there while first lady in 1996.

For all of the campaign's recent controversies, from Clinton's Bosnia problem to Obama's recent gaffe about "bitter" voters, their closing arguments here boil down to what they've argued since the Iowa caucuses in January.

Clinton: That she's more tested and prepared, more substance over hype. Obama: That he represents a politics that is new and untainted while Clinton embraces a more cynical status quo.

For somebody who is supposed to be "different", this kind of seems like more of the same to me. And that isn't exactly honest.

After months of non stop research; finally a picture of THE person who has been working the hardest to diminish Pres. Bill Clinton's legacy:

If Hillary wins PA by a small margin, fine by me. In a way, it will still almost be a victory for Obama. A month ago, he was expected to win by double digits, and he has significantly narrowed the lead. I just don't want Hillary to have a huge win, because if she does, that means she will be in our faces for several months, and I have had my fill of this woman. Will we ever be free of her?

I can't help but wonder how Hillary would run without the help of Bill Clinton.

Maybe if hilly could stop mud slinging for a while, and run a better campaign.
she might be able to Raise enough money so she can pay the small business and vendors she left high and dry. (California for instance ) Where I live.. ....Portland Oregon... the city officials warned small business and vendors, before hilly arrived, to get there money up-front from the clinton camp............. Hum...............bushy ran 5 business into the ground before he became leader of the free world....look what that got us. do you really want a repeat of the last 8 years?
If so elect hilly!
On the other hand Obama has run a non-negative campaign ...that continues to be in excess of funds.
I'd like to know what you think! Please tell me.

If I may let me appropriate a quote to describe Hillary Clinton "she has no difficulty behaving like a man, but she often finds it extremely difficult to behave like a gentleman"

Could it be that any strong woman in this country is seen as shrill and bitchy? Just askin'.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:17 PM on 04/20/2008

No. There are many strong women in this country with decency and character. Hillary Clinton just doesn't happen to be one of them.

I don't think so.

I would rather have a president that shows empathy for the people he/she represents than a cold harded analyst that thinks of the American people only as statistics to be used for political gain. TPMcafe has an article dated 4/17/08 by Theda Skocpol who attended a 1995 stategy meeting held by the Clintons at Camp David at which they were discussing campaign strategies for 1996.

Ms. Skocpol said: "But what is clear in both in my memory and my notes is that there was extensive, hard-nosed discussion about why masses of voters did not support Clinton or trust government or base their choices on economic as opposed to what people saw as peripheral life-style concerns. Hillary Clinton was among the most cold-blooded analysts in attendance. She spoke of ordinary voters as if they were a species apart, and showed interest only in the political usefulness of their choices -- usefulness to the Clinton administration, that is."

Cold, calculating Hillary Clinton. Just wha we don't need - another Dick Cheney in the White House, only as president this time. Vote Obama 2008.

Obama's too sensitive? I guess that wasn't Hillary I saw crying before New Hampshire and then whining about her treatment by the media.

Very concerned about a statement that Chris Mathews just made on MSNBC. He said that he thinks he know what Rendel is up to and he believes that Clinton will win by a large margin.

Did anyone else hear this? What could he possibly mean? Do the Pennsylvania voting machines have problems?

If she wins the state by a large margin I can't help Pennsylvania or Ohio or any other state that talks about jobs being taken from them and yet they still vote for the person who is responsible for same.

PA had a big voting scandal in 1994 in which DEMOCRATS cheats: see NY Times story of 2/10/94

Judge Newcomer ruled that the Democratic campaign of William G. Stinson had stolen the election from Bruce S. Marks in North Philadelphia's Second Senatorial District through an elaborate fraud in which hundreds of residents were encouraged to vote by absentee ballot even though they had no legal reason -- like a physical disability or a scheduled trip outside the city -- to do so.

In many instances, according to Republicans who testified during a four-day civil trial last week, Democratic campaign workers forged absentee ballots. On many of the ballots, they used the names of people who were living in Puerto Rico or serving time in prison, and in one case, the voter had been dead for some time.

One of the Obama surrogates, retired Maj. Gen. Walter Stewart, went so far as to say the soldier buried at Arlington National Cemetery in the Tomb of the Unknown "was probably killed by a sniper" and that Clinton"s statement means she "would lack the moral authority to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown."

I know what side of the fence you are on. I am afraid that you will spin anything to suit your already made up mind. I will review the quote and decide for myself. I will use something called independent thought.

Also, perhaps you may want to consider what it is like to be a soldier and lose comrades in battle. If anyone made a joke out of anything, it was HRC for saying she was under sniper fire when she wasn't.

Excuse me? What about this factual report tells you what side of the fence cramos is on? Well, after reading your profile, I certainly know which side of the divide you are on.

Wouldn't be better if we all lowered the temperature a bit and remembered the end game...to get a Dem in '08. Frankly, I am sorry Biden didn't win. I think we'd have a much better chance against McCain.

Obama supporter maintains "Clinton is unfit to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier." Wow! Now that's an uplifting campaign message. Not negative at all. Changing the tone of the campaign. Doesn't this bother anyone else?

and yet , the obamacide post still has not acknowledged that Gallup has hillary ahead of Barack

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:30 AM on 04/20/2008

I have no problem acknowledging that Hillary is ahead. That fact that Hillary is ahead is what should be expected. The issue is by how much will she win. If she wins by only singe digits then Barack has accomplished his mission. And by the way he may be outspending her 3 - 1, 4 - 1 or what ever but he may have another goal in mind.

Cause her to spend her dwindling funds. Just a thought. Folks Barack was an unknown and Hilary is getting her behind handed to her. One last thought.

Leadership:

As defined from the encyclopedia
1. The ability "to get people to follow voluntarily."
2. Those entities that perform one or more acts of leading.
3. The ability to affect human behavior so as to accomplish a mission designated by the leader.

Leadership as defined (summary) that I learned as a military officer.
Leadership is the art of "Influencing" a group of people in such a way as to obtain their "loyal" confidence and cooperation in order to accomplish the mission

Everyone has their opinions and thoughts. I would only ask you which of the two do "you" believe is demonstrating true leadership.

I spent 12 years in the military, love my country, and will still fight and die for it. But I know whom I"m voting for.
No president can accomplish anything by themselves they mush have good people around them. Who do you think inspires more?

You be the judge

Sort of like how all the pro Hillary sites didn't report the Bosnia lie and all the polls that show Barack ahead. I also don't see the Newsweek and rasmussen polls that showed a large lead for Obama, well the rasmussen was not large.

I just love how you use the term "obamacide" I prefer using "proHillary" when describing Hillary sites. Do you think you plan on growing up anytime soon?

Does the "real" Hillary Clinton remind anybody of the charactor Meryl Streep played in the newest version of "Manchurian Candidate"??? It's like a mirror image!

That's, because Merryl Streep's character in "The Manchurian Candidate" was SHAPED after Hillry Clinton.

Watched G. Stephanopoulos for about 6 minutes this morning to see if he had learned any lessons from his abysmal attempt at the Debate to buoy Hillary's campaign and he hasn't. There was not even a pretense to objectivity about the candidates anymore. He opened the show with comedic hits on ONE candidate, Barack Obama...guess nobody said anything funny about Hillary last week? He then went into a discussion with McCain and right off the bat ask McCain if he thought Obama was patriotic???? He even showed a quote from Rove from GQ magazine about Obama and McCain took the obviously rehearsed pov and began his spiel on Ayers and then I had to turn it off before I puked. Oh, excuse me George did show a Hillary Clinton clip in which she was bashing Obama.

It would be great to send Hillary and her minions a message at 1pm on April 21 EDT and raise one million dollars for barack Obama in one hour...it only takes $10,000 people giving $100 bucks. And then we can tell George to Kiss that!

I have tended to ignore both sides whining about the press coverage. I sort of think if both sides are whining, the press must be doing a good job. But this case was particularily disgusting. Fortunately, George appears to have lost any kind of credibility.

BTW, Fox News Sunday this morning went after Charles Schumer about how Hillary is whining about fairness yet has continued to try to hammer at Barack over Ayers and Wright. Schumer was unable to answer the question is sich a way as to not make HRC look a tad hypocritical.
