The Clinton campaign is using robocalls to tell Pennsylvanians Obama is not the candidate for them. In less than 24 hours, voters living in Lower Moreland Township of Montgomery County received three calls from the Clinton campaign, two attacking Obama and one advertising Bill Clinton's event in Fort Washington on Friday.

"In his TV ads, Barack Obama sounds like he'll take on the oil companies," a male voice tells voters in the first attack call. "What he doesn't tell you is that he voted for the Bush-Cheney energy bill, a bill that's been called the best bill energy corporations could buy. Every gallon of gas takes over three bucks from your pocket. So, why would Barack Obama vote for a Bush-Cheney energy bill that has put six billion in the pockets of big oil? Enough talk. It's time for action. Hillary Clinton will take on big oil and she has the experience to get it done."

The second call attacks Obama on his healthcare plan: "Pennsylvania families cannot afford Barack Obama," a stern female voice says. "Barack Obama's health care plan fails to deliver health care for every American, just what the HMO's and pharmaceutical companies want. What's more, Sen. Obama's healthcare plan imposes a $900 hidden tax on families. That's $900 more than anyone should have to pay to stay healthy. Pennsylvan

I truly believe that robocalls are just another cheap form of brainwashing. If you are dumb enough to actually listent to a computer for any length of time you might be not so smart about who you vote for. Barack has asked for real people only to make calls for him. No cost and people are doing it out of support for a real chang and hope for the future not a return to what really never was. Bill Clinton not only rode the dot com wave and made out good he has signed the NAFTA into law and still is making millions for them both by selling our companies and jobs across the ocean. Robo calls are doing the cheap only if you have to pay for people to support you and make the calls.

Barack Obama was right with his analogy , never pandered , said things like they are like it or not . Thats the kind of Leadership we all need at a time like this , A New Frontier to work on .
They all were wrong , so why should they, " The Clintons " , have another shot at the Highest Office in the Land ??

And what about these huge Conflicts of Interest if we have Bill out there calling Hillary in the WhiteHouse at 3 AM saying hey honey don't finish that trade Deal just yet , I got requests , hum , hows this going to be in the best independent Interests of the USA ????

Does she not know that REPEATED robo-calls actually do the OPPOSITE of what you want them to do??
They are annoying as hell..........especially if more than one and it's a long, protracted message. My husband got two........he hung up BOTH times.

Sam Donaldson just said on Stephanophalophagus" show "This Week", Obama supporters see his presidency as some type of "entitlement" because they complained about that so called debate, as if he isn"t winning in popular vote, delegate count, and states won...

My sister lives in PA. In one day she got four robo calls from the Hillary campaign and one call from a real person for Obama. She is making many people angry.

Judging from the comments to this story on HuffPo the robo-calling is having the opposite of the intended effect.

Another well planned Clinton strategy. Maybe she should try making the calls at 3:00 a.m. using her voice.

Who stays on the line for robocalls?

If it's a recording, I hang up. Somebody doesn't want to talk personally to me? Well, the favor is returned. Then I block the originating number.

Robocalling - meaning Hillary is making the calls personally, right?

Robo calling is a great idea if you only have a couple volunteers.

I got one Robocall from Fast Eddie (Gov. Rendell) many weeks ago. Since he had recently screwed retired PA state employees by switching their health care out of Medicare and into a substandard privatized plan - and was sucking up for the VP slot - I was less than swayed toward HRC. I got delightfully positive calls from Franco Harris (earlier this week) and Michelle Obama (today).

What is it with this great Clinton love of robo-calls? A couple of years ago, Bill Clinton made robo-calls for Joe Lieberman and harassed us endlessly with them. Ever since then, I've felt that these calls are a great way to sour the electorate on your candidate. Why does Hillary think that repetitively annoying people a great way to get them to like her?

I would ask voters if they would support a person who believes in the constitution and has taught constitutional law. Then I would follow up with the fact that Hillary Clinton refused to sign a pledge to restore the constitution, the only democratic candidate to refuse.

Hillary's health plan forces people to buy healthcare, while Obama's lowers the cost of healthcare so people can afford it. There is a fundamental difference between the two. The problem here is that Clinton has gone completely negative and it is turning off many Obama supporters and should she end up being the nominee, she will have a hard time bringing some back in the fold. That is fact. Just like Obama will have a problem with some Reagan dems and some die hard Clinton fans in the fall and trying to convince them to vote for him should he be the nominee. The fallout however, will be greater if Clinton is the nominee because people will 'feel' like she stole it from Obama. She has a harder time making it appear as if she didn't steal it unless she comes close to the popular votes.

Obama is attacking Clinton about health care in a television advertisement with claims that have been widely discredited by experts.

1. The Obama ad claims that Hillary"s "plan forces everyone to buy insurance even if you can"t afford it." Health policy expert Ken Thorpe reviewed this claim and found it to be false. Under Hillary's plan, everyone will be able to afford coverage.

"Ken Thorpe, a health-policy expert at Emory University who has advised all three major Democrats, said he ran cost estimates for the Clinton plan at the Clinton campaign's request, and found there should be enough money to make insurance affordable for all." [Wall Street Journal, 12/5/07]

2. The advertisement also claims that that Hillary's plan would make people who fail to enroll "pay a penalty." Sen. Obama's own plan would fine parents who fail to enroll their children and he has said he will consider imposing penalties on people who don't enroll.

3. The ad also claims that Sen. Obama's plan reduces costs more than Hillary's plan. There is no citation for this claim because it is false. Hillary's plan has more aggressive cost cutting measures and has more generous subsides. Because Sen. Obama's plan leaves 15 million people out, it would drive costs up, because everyone would have to subsidize emergency care for the uninsured.

I can't believe anyone who says "everyone will be able to afford my plan." There are some people who go hungry every night, let alone buying healthcare. This is an arrogant statement made by someone who was PAID to evaluate the Clinton healthcare plan.

This is all a big joke. Bottom line: Hillary is going to tell us what to do, because she knows best. Obama knows that a radical change to healthcare will be a negotiating process with all parties sitting at the table, but in the OPEN and not through back room deals. It comes down to which style do you believe in for governing.

I'll take Obama. Hillary acts like a "know it all." No thanks.

Hillary has millions of dollars for her campaign, yet she decided not to pay the health care premiums for her staff for two months during this campaign. She also decided to not pay bills for party platters, office space, bands at time of service, at receipt of first bill, second bill, threats to go to collections.... She decided that she rather hold on to her "cash" to pay for the tv ads rather than for the services she was using immediately.

As an adult, if you are facing with decisions to lose your home to foreclosure, pay your "affordable" health insurance premium, put gas into your car to get to work so you don't lose your job---shouldn't you have the right to pick which one of these bills are your priority? Hillary never explained what she would do to people like her (who have the money) yet refuse to pay her bills. Should she go to jail?

Look at it this way-She is wasting what few resouces she has left to pay for these robo calls that no one wants to listen to especially on a beautiful spring week-end. Very small audience I bet.

She is really testing Obama supporters with her Rovian style politics. She has basically adopted a cutthroat, win at all cost strategy which may win out in the short term, but it could be damaging in the fall because there is risk of alienating a large sector of the party. (Yes, those Obamabots as many Clinton peeps say).

Clinton supporters are so brainwashed by her lies and deceit that they can't see that they show exactly the same support for Hillary Clinton. Right the two candidate are involved in a fierce battle and of course her most loyal supporters are going to be like that. i don't blame them.

But to say that Obama supporters are robot like is ridiculous. The facts are Obama has won the hearts, minds and trust of more people, in more states and with the most delegate winnings. We are just doing what we should be doing, supporting Obama and making our voice heard that we will not stand for Hillary Rodham Clinton stealing the 2008 democratic presidential nomination from its rightful winner.

Many clinton supporters probably think Obama won't be able to stand the pressure of the republicans or that he won't do a good job in the white house. Obama supporters and many endorsements from people with far more washington experience think otherwise. He may not have the washington experience but he has experience in all the right places. If we want some real positive change, we don't need someone with washington experience. Obama is a bet i'm willing to play.

Remember: Clintons endorsements are worth little. Most of her endorsement are favors given back to Bill Clinton from his presidency. Don't believe me? Read todays NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/20/us/politics/20loyalty.html?hp

Now that she's struggling, her support is defecting.
