On the eve of a big contest in Pennsylvania, the Clinton campaign finds itself losing the money race.

Financial reports released to the Federal Election Commission around midnight this morning show that Clinton raised around $20 million in March and had roughly $8 million available at the beginning of April for use during the primary.

But the campaign also reported debts of $10.3 million, which makes it in the red leading into contests in Indiana and North Carolina.

After all the trouble that Mark Penn has caused, the least he can do is forgive the debt.

Hillary in the red and Obama in the bank. Now that's poetic justice.

Hillary vendors, a piece of advice: Don't take any wooden nickels!

Hillary Clinton has lost the primary nomination. She won't admit it but her financial backers certainly have.

You might be right. However, just consider the fact that she might be sabotaging Obama chances of winning this election so she can run again in 2012, while clinging to a thread of a hope for this nomination.

it is hardly an original thought. many have been saying that for quite a long time. the fact that she is even still in the race when, if the roles had been reversed, Obama would have been forced out after super tuesday with such a deficit. the only thing she is doing now is serving herself. nothing about her has changed.

You also have to consider the fact that Bill Clinton has been collecting curiously huge fees for his silly speeches these last seven years. Do you really think his sponsors weren't opperating under the assumption that his wife wouldn't try to be king? The spouse of a mere senator, even if from New York, doesn't command as much mone... I mean... respect. And part of Hillary's success with the decaying party hierachy is that Bill is also a tireless fundraiser for other Democrats. Where do you think her initial count of party-insider superdelegates came from? Not making it into the DNC as a powerbroker would cast a huge pall over Clinton, Inc.'s future stock value.

THIS, IS FRIGHTNING dor America!
Much has been already discussed about Barack Obama"s disturbing associations with a domestic terrorist (Ayers), to a prominent Palestinian advocate of suicide bombings (Khalidi), a corrupt Iraqi billionaire (Auchi), a sleazy personal fundraiser and mafioso (Rezko), and to his own genocidal maniac of a cousin from Kenya (Odinga), for whom Obama led a "positive" campaign effort to achieve his "election" a few years back. As many of us know, Obama"s camp has recently taken a defensive stance and have dedicated countless hours to spread the word around the internet that these issues are "irrelevant" to a Presidential campaign and that bringing them up are thus a full exemplification of "dirty politics".

Hillary's donors--large and small--might want to ask themselves why she's only loaned a measly $5 million (out of a $100 million+ personal fortune) to her campaign.
If she truly thought she could win, wouldn't she spend whatever it takes?
The answer is that she's only in this, at this point, to damage Obama enough so she can run against McCain in 2012. So she's going to save the rest of that $100 million for a real campaign, not the vanity campaign she's running (on fumes) now...

If I were a Hillary supporter, I'd hesitate to give another nickel to someone who's just using my money to damage the Democratic nominee.
(and note: she didn't "give" her campaign $ 5 million; she "loaned" it--which means she's going to be paid back, unlike her supporters.)

The Clintons have made $109 million since Bill left the White House. This doesn't mean they HAVE $109 million.

The fact that she is already in the red is THE reason why she needs a big win in PEN (more than 10 points).

She does not have to drop out if she doesn't win big there, it is not her moral obligation, and she doesn't have to drop for the good of the party.

But if she doesn't win big, you will see donations to her campaign run dry. An article from the NY Times says that many of her donors are already max out and getting very pessimistic about donating to a loosing campaign. A close contest in PEN for Obama will finish the job.

Any donations to Clinton after a close finish in PEN will go to pay off her campaign's debts, and the loan she gave herself.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't donate to any candidate, no matter who they are, no matter how I like them, under these circumstances. I'll pay my own debt before I pay theirs. And I certainly won't pay a loan a candidate made to his or her campaign when I know that this candidate is worth $109 million.

Its more like Obama is buying his nomination, overspending Hillary 3 to 1. sad, sad, sad, Not thinking about a candidate's character and qualifications anymore:

Wow, where was your outrage when it was Hillary spending her $100 plus million war chest on Super Tuesday (way outspending Obama) and expecting to get the nomination and not have to campaign anymore?

And you may want to do a little research about Hillary and people with terrorist ties. Her husband pardoned 14 or so FALN members at her request to help her win the Latino vote for her Senate seat. They actually killed 4 Americans and planted bombs that wounded and maimed many Police officers who were trying to diffuse them. And then there was her accepting $50,000 from an extremist Muslim group and trying to pass it off as being from a different group but got causght and had to give it back. The list goes on and on. And playing on YouTube right now is her number one backer Gov. Ed Rendell praising Farrakhan with some gusto. The hypocrisy never ends.

You know very well that Clinton would spend just as much if she had the money.

And Hillary has the name recognition already. She doesn't need to spend as much. Obama was completely unknown outside his own state before his speech at the democratic convention and even then not many Americans knew who he was.

By the way, the Clintons have much worse disturbing associations than Obama. And much more direct: not just a guy who lives on his block. But the Obama campaign has not gone there, to their benefit.

If this how she manages her money, I would expect her to do much good on the economy if elected.

Maybe she should dip into the 109M she has to finance her campaign.

I wouldn't put her over my child's piggy bank.

That's right, why is the little guy giving her money. Romney financed his campaign. Why can't she help her campaign out. She can't blame anything on anyone but herself. She has duped a lot of people. She has stabbed her own DEMs in the back over McCain. She is throwing harsh and disgusting negatives at Mr. Obama. It's time he started to fight back. She's losing the dems respect, she's losing delegates, she's losing money...

But people don't get it...or do they.
