The Democratic Party may prove to have been the real loser in the Pennsylvania primary on Tuesday.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York defeated Senator Barack Obama of Illinois by enough of a margin to continue a battle that Democrats increasingly believe is undermining their effort to unify the party and prepare for the general election against Senator John McCain of Arizona.

I am a Ron Paul fan but the only reason Obama lost was because of all they bullshit hyping about being Bitter by Clinton and her MSM.

Really is that why 56% of Republicans crossed over in PA in a closed Democratic primary last night. Rush doesn"t have that much power. You are witnessing the demise of the Republican Party in the NE, Midwest and the West, McCain and the GOP know it. Weather you support Clinton or Obama is not important, either one them are going to destroy McCain. I agree, this whole process is going on to long, but McCain is not razing the money the presumptive GOP nominee should be. McCain is between a rock and the hard place. For example 70 million Catholics the largest voting block in this country, are not going to support a candidate who will not separate himself from a rapture nut who calls Catholics devil worshipers and whores. Women understand that the balance of the Supreme Court matters. I can go on and on.

I"ve already voted in my primary, but my wife voted differently and both of us will support the democratic nominee, because the alternative is just to weird to contemplate. Not one Republican in her family voted for McCain, not a single one. Principles are great, but the modern GOP dosen't have any thanks to Karl Rove, and the Democratic nominee who ever he or she is going to have kick ass and take numbers as well as present a positive future for this country. You can"t bring a knife to a gun fight.

It really doesn't matter aymore. I am a white female 40's Obama supporter. Raised in the Midwest, but my mama didn't raise a bigot. I have no understanding of why there is still so much racism in this country. The one thing I was raised to despise is a LIAR. HRC has destroyed the Democratic party!!!! After reading last night's exit polls it became obvious this country does not deserve any better than the 2 Rebublican's HRC and McCain. Obama needs to get out before the establishment do to him what they did to the Kennedy's. This country ain't worth it!

Good point mama. Let it burn.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:39 AM on 04/23/2008

No, darn-it, it is worth it. You can't sit back while the country goes up in flames because you will burn up along with it. Get a bucket or a hose or blanket or a vote or whatever you have to contribute and help put them out. Someone very smart once said that the price of liberty is eternal vigilence. None of us can sit this out.

Barack Obama is clearly not in position to win in November. He can't seem to win the big states needed to take the white house in the general election..
Barack Obama is stubbornly hanging on in the democratic process, He should drop out of the race and allow Hillary to take the nomination and the democratic party to victory.

Sounds ridiculous right ? well it sounds the same in asking Hillary to drop out....

Oh, poor you. You've fallen for the "big state / little state" talking points have you? Sad.

But I agree that Obama won't win in November. And neither can Clinton. It's got nothing to do with him or her, but with what I heard on the radio last night as I was in a cab heading to Heathrow Airport. An English news reporter was interviewing people in PA about the election -- three white males in a row said they would not vote for Obama because all the blacks they knew were lazy and expected something for nothing out of life; and they wouldn't vote for a woman, because no woman could handle the pressure. They will vote for McCain or stay at home.

Nice.

These white males said things to a foreign reporter they would never dare say to an American one. They spoke the truth. Racism and Sexism are alive and well in America. God bless.... I have no more hope for us.

First of all the constituency you are talking about would not feel "more comfortable" talkin to a foreign reporter... lol. Link? I find it highly suspicious someone so supportive of Obama in some post, wants him to drop out in other posts, and then says the dems can't win the GE.

The Obama campaign has said repeatedly she should stay in as long as she could be competitive... but she is broke his opinion may be moot...

What I am suprsied at is the lack of response by the voters to Clinton's obvious selfishness...the math simply isn't there and she should get out but she won't until she ruins everything. Voters should be shutting her down.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:11 AM on 04/23/2008

The superdelegates should have shut her down before TX and OH. Instead they are so scared of her they would rather let the Republicans mess in the Democratic primaries instead of standing up to her. It makes you wonder how much the Clinton's have on them! The clinton's are pretty desparate right now. I am thinking Bill and her need executive priviledge to fight the fraud case coming up. If she can stall them long enough to get elected.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:52 AM on 04/23/2008

No they should have shut her down AFTER TX and OH... since they were saying she HAD to win both and she didn't exactly win TX...

The Democratic and Republican parties have one job. Provide political leadership for the country. Both have failed UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY. The parties are corrupt beyond redemption. They must be destroyed.

Poor Poor Obama, he has fallen and he can't get up. Oh wait what's this I see, It's Arianna Huffington coming to the rescue, she'll save his day, she'll pick him up and salve his wound. Wait Wait, what is this, OH MY, Hillary Clinton, she just came through on a white horse and ploughed right over poor Obama and poor helpful Arianna. OH MY, OH MY, this is a catty stroffee.

That would be witty (then again...) if it were true... he is still ahead on all counts and making in-roads with her coalition, not the other way around. There's no reason for Obama supporter to whine... he is more has more than 150 delegate count lead *laughs*

This is so true! The Republicans are laughing their asses off this morning. Their plan to run against Clinton and win is still alive and well this morning. Let's just pray that Indiana and NC have more sense than the people of my state of PA.

Obama might consider challanging McCain to a television debate now, it might make him look presidential and McCain look stupid for ducking him. Obama needs help for sure

I will be voting for the first time this November.

I am taking a long hard look at the Democratic Party and I am very uncomfortable with what I see.

I have never once considered voting for the GOP but after reading the exit polls and seeing how the voters lined up, I see no difference in both parties.

There are those who says they cannot vote for Obama because he is black.!!

In 2008 America a person's skin is determinant factor in who gets the Catholic vote, can you imagine what would have happened to the Catholic Church in America had they chosen the black Cardinal for the Papacy??

I want nothing to do with a party that is composed of racists!! Both the Democrats and Republicans are alike in this one regard.

Please don't let Clinton's silly campaign and constant spin of reality in Pennsylvania put you off. She went into it practically as an encumbant and the only thing that buffered her fall was the party machine she and Bill have been assiduously romancing. But the Clinton have burne throughpolitcal capital in the same way they've burnt through their gold. Clinton does not have the number of delegates needed to win the nomination and there's no way she can get ahead now. It's simple math no matter what spin they put on it. The only thing that might save her is if the superdelegates overturned the results of the primaries and voted for her. That won't happen because it would destroy the party. Period.

Don't be put off by primaries they get dirty... after all Bush slammed McCain's vet creds back in 2000... talk about dirty. In any case if you are liberal minded your only other choice besides dems is McCain, while I just defended him, I still wouldn't vote for him. We don't need a war with Iran... which may be a good reason to not vote for Chilly Hillary who is so feminist that she is still with her cheating dog of a husband... oh yeah she is where she is today becasue of him whoops. Yes that is my dirty shot but still true.

Yes, some Democrats are racist. However, you are guaranteed to see more of it - far more - in the Republican party. If you don't like racism, then vote Democratic. That's where you will see improvement on the issue because defeating racism has long been a major goal of the Democratic party.

Remember also that, although racism has always run deep in our society, we have seen much progress. It's been slow, but the illness is being healed. You can help make that happen by voting Democratic. We need an Obama presidency. It would help the racists see that America won't implode if we shed our bigotry.

When placing your vote, please also remember the impact your vote has on the Supreme Court. There are several judges on The Court who will soon retire. Republican presidents replace retiring judges with very conservatives ones, and The Court is already tipping toward conservative ideology. That, in itself, is a certain recipe for delayed equal rights progress.

You see no differnence in the partys because of the exit polls? Really? Exit polls have nothing to do with ideas or policy. Apparently, "all" democrats are not alike since Barack is still ahead in the popular vote. I encourage you to vote democrat no matter who wins... don't stay home.

If your main interest were the American people, why would you vote for McCain? You said, you brought up to hate liars... then McCain is not your guy. You say Obama should get out for his own safety, and you will vote for McCain if Hillary wins... Sounds to me like you were gonna vote McCain anyway...

The Villains in this are, yet again, the Democratic powers that be--the Congress and other party leaders who have the power to put an end to this and let the Dems focus on a really dangerous man--McCain. They need to find the courage to step out and end this by declaring for one or the other. The pundits are asking, "why can't Obama close the deal?" I think they have fun asking the question, but in their hearts they know the answer. The exit polls showed that race was a significant factor in Pennsylvania, and Clinton really has the racist vote sewn up, needless to say. America has spoken and it is willing to elect a woman but not a black. If Obama does not get the nomination, he has at least started a national conversation on race and aired America's dirty linen in public. We are not the greatest country in the world and until we can actually join the rest of the multicultural world, we won't even be in the second string.

The Voters would be the LOSERS if the radical left is able to short circuit the primary and keep Florida and Michigan disenfranchised. So much for Obama, a man willing to suppress the vote in two states so he can gain political power.

Your post is so divorced from reality, that you need to check you meds, or seek help.
Incidentally, with your mad assertions about the liberal left, how do you account for
the many republicans that seem to be comfortable voting for Obama.

So the 'radical left' challenged the party when it said there delagates would not count if they moved their primary up. Only Clinton, of the nine candidates running then chose to disobey the party and run in Michigan. Now her supporters say that others are trying to run the party. She chose to oppose the party and now does not want to pay the consequences. That is why she supports Bush and Bush tactics.

Spin.
Obama didn't make the rules. Unlike Clinton, he honors his word to abide by the rules.
Clinton doesn't care about disenfranchisment when she calls upon even pledged delgates to "come to the dark side" and support her.
"radical left" - what are you, a neo-con?
You may want a continuation of lobbyist-controlled government, the majority of primary votes cast indicate people have had enough of that.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:27 AM on 04/23/2008

donin, how do you speak of the rules and then have a problem if she does things within the rules? Super D's are rules as well, ya know... And look at Obamas history when it comes to lobbyists, he only didn't take there fed lobbyist money this time, so he could play the holier than thou card.. He's a fraud.

I couldn't agree more with the title. 6 weeks of constant bickering. All it accomplished was to show the GOP how weak the Democratic party really is.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:39 AM on 04/23/2008

Let's look at the facts shall we?

HRC was expected to win in PA, no great shakes there. The only thing that is significant was that it was by 10 percent

And the most important fact:

Tonight proved that an African American man will never be President because even though they talk out of both sides of their mouth, people will say one thing but they won't vote for an AA man. In fact, the way they're talking, if Obama is the nominee, Clinton supporters would rather vote for a conservative Republican who will set civil rights and woman's rights back decades than vote for an African American man.

I see the light. People will use any excuse (He's secret Muslim, He hates America, he has Wright, he thinks we're bitter about the economy, etc.) but the truth is, the rules for Obama are different than for HRC or McCain. . Obama has to be ten times as good, a saint, not too black, not too white, repudiate his church, wear a flag pin that neither HRC or MCCain have to wear. And G-d forbid if he slips up.

Just be honest people. I saw it tonight. No matter how educated or well spoken or eloquent Barrack Obama, all you see is a black guy. And that's the diplomatic way of putting it.

I'd just begun to have faith in humanity. It was destroyed tonight. It was nice while it lasted.
