I just love how Obama vexes the media and flummoxes the Clinton people. She was annointed by the Dem Establishment to be the next president, considering the weak lineup the Republic Party served up. So in view of the disastrous Bush/Cheney rule, the old fool McCain would seem to be easy to knock over. Little did the Clintons know that Obama would resonate with his pitch for renewal and return to Constitutional rule of law. So now you have Clinton and McCain talking about more war to protect Israel, that everything is fine with the economy, that unemployed people are resillient and satisfied (even without work), that they'll cut taxes even more, and on and on. Will Americans really vote for the continuation of Bush's policies or go for renewal that Obama pledges? I think it's a no-brainer. Obama will crush McCain in November - with or without the swiftboaters.

1. Draft Gore and Edwards.
There is no one else who can win against McCain.
2. Draft Gore and Edwards.
There is no one else who can win against McCain.
3. Draft Gore and Edwards. .
There is no one else who can win against McCain.
4. Draft Gore and Edwards.
There is no one else who can win against McCain.
Barring that, it's time for a new political party to represent 98% of Americans.

Truth is NEITHER candidate can win without the superdelegates. Unless Hillary drops out, there is no way Obama can win enough regular delegates to claim victory.

Therefore both candidates are counting on appointment by superdelegate. It is disingenuous to suggest that only Hillary is expecting that.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:46 AM on 04/24/2008

You're saying that Hillary and Obama are in the same exact situation?

Who has more pledged delegates?
Who has more primary victories?
Who has more popular vote? (Oh right, I forgot, Hillary does have the popular vote lead IF you count Florida And Michigan, AND IF you ignore all the caucus states, because they really don't matter anyway.)
Who has more caucus victories?
Who has more red state victories?
Who has more blue state victories?

Oh, and as for electability:
Who is flush with cash, spending more cash, and is having more success at raising cash?

The answer to all these questions is Obama. The super delegates would be ratifying the peoples' choice if they back Obama. They would be overturning it if they back Hillary.

There is no legitimate argument equating their "appointment by superdelegate".

All your points are good, but they're completely irrelevant.

Just like you have to lead by two points to win a tennis game, it takes 2025 pledged delegates to nominate a candidate. Those are the rules. Never in the history of tennis has somebody said, "Can we just stop the game right now, and give it to the player who is in front? Or the one with the most endorsement contracts? How about the player with more career wins?"

Neither candidate is going to get 2025. So it's up to the superdelegates. I am quite certain that the Supers will take your points into consideration, and there is a good chance Obama will win.

But it is still going to be victory by superdelegate.

Freaking brilliant, as always.

There is a free community newspaper that is available at many stores and restaurants in my town. I pick it up every time I see it just to read your comic. Keep up the good work.

To even up this contest, the next primaries should take Hillary's name off the ballot, JUST LIKE MICHIGAN, and then she can add in Michigan's vote to her tally.

I think this about says it all . . .

The question is are Democrats going to be strong liberals. . .or cave in to fear.

It's game time for the Democratic Party.

Sorry to break it to ya but only if you're a superdelegate

:(

Did she really promise us magic ponies? Now I'm going to vote for her and contribute. And she is a woman, So I trust that I will get my pony.

LOl. Wasn't she the one who promised us healthcare the last time around?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:26 AM on 04/24/2008

No, the promise was to superdelegates. They seem to be the only ones gullible enough to believe it.

The cartoon was great. Just HILLARIOUS. Next cartoon work in that evil cackle she does when she knows she has been caught in a lie or caught being a total hyporcrite. She did that the other night when Olbermann asked her about her "arch enemy" Richard Mellow Scaffe.

As long as she's changing rules, maybe she can make thin thighs and slender ankles unattractive.

It's only fair.

All chuckling aside:
There must be something we can do... to get the truth about hilary exposed to the light of day????

...without axelrod...or michelle or barack having to say or imply it....and sucking the obama campaign... over to the dark side....... which is exactly what the clinton campaign is salivating for...

isn't there some station or journalist or paper that people more than us lunatic... activist, progressive...fringe read... or watch....or listen to?
that isn't afraid of clinton revenge?

how did she
keep any and all reference to the camp david "screw-em" comments off the air..??????.

anyone who actually heard accounts of the 1995 camp david meeting..couldn't deny hilary's obvious lack of empathy and in fact contempt and vindictive disdain for the very people... she pretended ....successfully... . to care so much about...

where is the free press ?

just imagine .....first hand accounts of her "screw-em" bill we don't owe them a thing... if they aren't with us they're against us attitude... "the most cold - hearted" opinions expressed by anyone....being seen and heard..

in a split screen presentation along with barack's remarks in san francisco
hilary would be exposed for the anti-empathetic person she really is....

What happened to the people's right to know?

there must be a way .. to allow the public to see and hear both sides of this elitist controversy..

.. surely the MSM would have to cover that......or ...wait a minute.... maybe not...

Now it really gets funny. Hillary, who is flat broke and cannot campaign in two states will spend the next two weeks in Indiana and leave the work that needs to be done in North Carolina to her ally the RNC. So expect her to be in Indiana while the RNC spends mega bucks attacking Obama in North Carolina and the whole time John McCain pretends that he is opposed to the RNC running these type of ads. It has already started!!!!!!!!!!

Expecting 'magic ponies' is what it looks like the loony Obama supporters do! They just 'believe' in this unknown unproven unvetted one term senator and for some unknown reason they think he will magically 'change' the way Washington works!
Yeah.. like that'll happen!

Sorry, Clinton has the corner on Magical Thinking, Ahyoka. How else can you explain how she's going to eventually get 60 - 70% of all the rest of the primaries, plus pursuade all of the superdelegates to vote for her?

Did Clinton offer you a Magic Pony to forget she voted for this war?
Is that how she won your heart?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:10 PM on 04/23/2008

exactly. It is mathematically impossible for her to catch Barack in delegates or popular votes. Who is "expecting magic ponies" now?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:45 AM on 04/24/2008

Keep yapping. November will see Obama On the ticket and Hillary trying to apologize to all her ex-friends in the party. She'll get to sit next to the other outcast Lieberamn.

Hillary is a big hyporcrite. She is Repulbican lite.
1) The Ayers comments when Bill pardoned 2 weatherman.
2) She is supposedly against CAFTA when Mark Penn and Bill are working for it.
3) There ample evidence that she stumped to promote NAFTA
4) She voted for this stupid war without even reading the Intelligence Report.
5) I could go on but I you get the idea. I'll close with--THE CLINTONS ARE COLLOSSAL LIARS AND WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED!

I feel sorry for all the poor struggling people that think Hillary is going to help them. Some 527 should put togethe a Camp David "Screw 'em" ad to run in the southern states.

How about people are just starting to realize that Obama is an "empty suit" with little or no accomplishments, has never brought people on the different sides of politics together, and is far far too Liberal for most Americans.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:43 PM on 04/23/2008

Really?? Then your alarm goes off and wakes you from your sweet dream....and you realize oh no, it IS true that HIllary is a liar with 2% chance of winning this thing and 99% chance of destroying the DEM party while at it.

"As long as my chances are not zero" just doesn't cut it as an argument when she is slinging mud and doing McCain's work. Karl Rove has been on vacation since Hillary started slinging mud.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:55 AM on 04/24/2008

Well then just go find your own cartoonist for those ideas then. If you can.

Pretty much Liberals are concerned about the needs of the citizens while Republicans create a hey dey for Big Business and Special Interests. And putting tilting the advantage to the corporate world at the expense of the taxpayer is FASCISM. All the socially conservative crap the Republicans trot out is to use the Religious people for their votes and volunteers. Even the Evangelicals are waking up to being played.

So the Clintons up to their eyeballs in the DLC which encourages Democrats to be kinder to corporations- you know more REPUBLICAN! With Hillary or McCain it is Bush 3. She won't get the youth vote with all her Obama bashing. So she will never get elected.

I'll take Obama anyday.

"far too liberal for most Americans" is equivalent to saying Obama is not conservative enough for most Americans. Your statement implies that Hillary is conservative enough for most Americans, am I right?
