Obama campaign spokesman Robert Gibbs joined Morning Joe this morning, where he spun the Pennsylvania race as "great improvement" for Obama, citing the halving of Clinton's lead and the incremental gains achieved in demographics such as "working-class voters...white men and white women." Gibbs also threw down a gauntlet over North Carolina, suggesting that the state fit the profile that the Clinton campaign has been using to define as big, "important" states. Of course, all signs seem to indicate that Clinton has about as much chance of winning North Carolina as he did Pennsylvania, so the challenge seems a bit facetious. Also, the wisdom of similarly engaging in this "important state" argument seems a little dubious. But not nearly as dubious as grown men wearing silly t-shirts!

[WATCH.]

SCARBOROUGH: Two-part question here. Put up those shirts again, if you will. We're showing "Stop the Drama -- Vote Obama" t-shirts. I will ask you - why, why, why, first of all. And secondly, Barack Obama, probably on the same day you were wearing those shirts, said -- told a radio station, KDKA, that he was going to keep it a lot closer than people thought, that this was going to be a close race, but it didn't end that way.

GIBBS: Well, look, I think everyone talked about the bar that the Clinton campaign was set at was at least ten points. They finished a little less than ten points. We bought -- I bought those shirts on the sidewalk in Philadelphia. They looked great. I didn't tuck mine in like Axelrod did but --

SCARBOROUGH: Good for you. Axelrod tucks in t-shirts? Something my dad --

GIBBS: Well, it looked like my dad, too, so -- but, you know, look, I think we made great progress in Pennsylvania. Again, we made progress with the voting groups, improved our showing as what we did in Ohio. We brought new voters into the process, and I think as we go forward, look, we've got two important states coming up. You know, Andreas mentioned this a minute ago. North Carolina is a state that if you look at the most previous rationale to the current rationale for the Clinton campaign, it was how well they did in big states, and they often list states like New Jersey and Massachusetts in those big states. Well, North Carolina is a state that's bigger than both of those two states, and I would expect Hillary Clinton would be able to win a state like North Carolina. It fits in exactly the criteria that she laid out just a few weeks ago.

From Blacks4Barack...CALL DNC TODAY !!! Stress THE FACT !! Clinton Has Lost ENTIRE BLACK VOTE !

While the media is dissecting the demographics, for some reason they keep leaving one verrrrry important statistic out of their breakdown. The Major Fact Is.....BILLARY HAS ALIENATED AND LOST THE ENTIRE BLACK VOTE ! Where's THAT fact ? And they have the gall to think that they can claim her to be more electable to superdelegates.......with close to zero black support !!! Hillary Clinton is the first democratic presidential nominee in modern day history to lose the entire black vote ! That, too, is a fact !

It is time for EVERYONE to contact the DNC and every superdelegate and remind them that due to her own actions HILLARY HAS LOST THE ENTIRE BLACK VOTE ! SPEAK OUT !!!!

Call The DNC TODAY at 202-863-8000 or contact them at Democrats.org.

This is in no way meant to be racial. We are all in this together....blacks, whites, young, old, rich and poor......working together for a better America. But the fact that Hillary Clinton (wife of 'The First Black President', who started this campaign with 82% of the black support) has lost the support of an entire race of people....is not only pitiful.....but should be made....a very well known FACT !

Stop being a race baiter. BLack4Barack??? I guess it would be ok for someone the have Whites4Hillary? Everyone keeps saying that HRC had 80% of the black votes, BULLSHIT. those were polls not voters, that was prior to Obama getting on the national stage. The fact that he is getting 94% of the black vote screams racial voting. Anyone saying he would get that pct if he were white is ignorant and drank too much Kool aid. Blacks4barack what a f'ing joke.

Can somebody come up with a list of uncommitted superdelegates including mailing address, phone, and e-mail, and make it available to interested persons? We could ask people to send a polite note encouraging them to end Hillary's march to the sea and vote Obama.

LOL, saying Obama supporter and Polite in the same post is pretty funny.

Spin is very popular these days. Now HRC is claiming she's winning. What never never land is she in. The numbers don't lie and the DNC will never count the votes of MI and FL due to her signing that they wouldn't count. I don't know what kind of math her campaign learned but that's not the universal math I learned in elementary school. I do think though, to HRC's credit, that she is getting bad advice from her campaign people.

Idiots like that are the reason Hillary is still in this. She actually believes she can win and they actually BELIEVE her. atexas or assexual or whatever doesn't know what drama is-yet. Wait til the depression deepens and it's unsafe to go outside because of no ozone. God help us and get rid of Shillary.

Ah yes, I can see the Obama Supporters are out in full force today
on the blogs. I am beginning to think blogging for Obama is a paying job since
so many people here at Huffington Post can't possibly lack so much objectivity.

Anyway, Check this little quote out from Obama. Some of you may have seen it,
but in any case it has to be far more interesting then this article about t-shirts that seek only to marginalize the fact that there still remains a considerable number of people who would prefer
Clinton be the candidate.

Indeed, for more than two years after the 2003 invasion, Obama emphasized America's moral and strategic obligations in Iraq. "The failure of the Iraqi state would be a disaster," he told reporters in July 2004. "It would dishonor the 900-plus men and women who have already died. ... It would be a betrayal of the promise that we made to the Iraqi people, and it would be hugely destabilizing from a national security perspective."

I agree with you and your thoughts on the paid bloggers for Obama. They are constantly attacking Hillary no matter what. Obama plays a smooth dog and pony show and the people of PA saw through that. It's time for everyone to see that.

Hey Stumpy and little Stumpy. Hillary has to pay ... Obama has the people. The reason why you see more support also corresponds with the intelligence levels of computer users. Now get back to WOW and let the real brains deal with this. The only thing Pennsylvanians showed is that there are more scared ignorant people infesting their population.

Unlike Hilary supporters that rail on about kool aide and play like children in a school yard that say try to change the rules so they can win and if they don't will take their balls and go home.. Grow up

Let her stay in till all the primaries are held. It is a good thing for the political infrastructure of the Democrats.

It's a manufactured drama! Hillary has come back, purely and simply, by the votes of the dem for a day limbaugh drones. Any mention of this by the media would negate their hourly updates and force them to talk about reality. Remember limbaugh's directives to his drones, anyone?? We are letting the repubbles ruin our election process, AGAIN. The Texas election vote was stark proof of this when the caucus peoples didn't show for hillary and even said that they were dems for a day. That's why she won the election and he won the caucases. Jeeeeez, leweeeeeez.

You know, it is because of logic like yours, that there are those that believe we should have superdeligates. This is just in case the general voter is to incompetent to
to elect the right person. Manufactured ideas like yours just give them more fuel.

I quite watching Morning Joe when he started getting super smug, being rude to Mika, constantly using an arrogant bully tone when he talks about Obama. He has an agenda. Wonder what it is? To be the next Rush Limbaugh?

Boycott this Morning Dribble show and their advertisers. Joe is a pompous, arrogant and dismissive professional distorter of facts. He creates great harm to our society with his right wing propaganda. He may think he is cute, but sons and daughters are dying on battlefields while he plays pundit and distorts reality to his likening. Would it not be nice to have a morning show with true facts and civil discussion that informs the American populace?

I watched the show for Mika. But she has been 'muzzled' as of late. I deleted the damn thing off of my DVR because I can't have his show soil the wires and circuits of my beautiful wide screen.

what I don't get is why the media allows people like Joe and Pat to even cover the primaries - their slant is obvious - and I have no problems with Hillary supporters commenting, it's their race - but I do not think it's right to put in two Rethugs that only want Hillary so that they can tag team on Obama with the Hillary support - that's how this race has been since Ohio and Texas.

I'd rather get one of those Abercrombie shirts they were promoting on Tuesday night.

Either that or the "Vote for Pedro" I saw in the audience. "Stop the Drama" is right up there with Napoleon Dynamite when it comes to intellectual appeal.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:50 PM on 04/24/2008

Well if you're trying to appeal to Hillary's "base", you can't use anything "intellectual". Check out her PA supporters, media says they're blue collar and less educated. Stupid is as stupid does and we all know it depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

Yep typical Obamanite spin. Call anyone who doesn't support the messiah Ignorant. It's that attitude that will lose you the election.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:32 AM on 04/25/2008

I would submit that, while PA currently has somewhat more delegates & more overall voters, NC is a state that is more important to the overall future of the Dem Party than PA. Its demographics represent the future of the country, while PA is past its prime. The population is younger and growing while PA is stagnant. It will soon pass PA in terms of size, and may have already in terms of economic vitality.
