The protracted and increasingly acrimonious fight for the Democratic presidential nomination is unnerving core constituencies -- African Americans and wealthy liberals -- who are becoming convinced that the party could suffer irreversible harm if Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton maintains her sharp line of attack against Sen. Barack Obama....

More than 70 top Clinton donors wrote their first checks to Obama in March, campaign records show. Clinton's lead among superdelegates, a collection of almost 800 party leaders and elected officials, has slipped from 106 in December to 23 now, according to an Associated Press tally.

Close race = high ratings for the MSM and the various pundits...
Race over = low ratings.
Therefore MSM talking point is always, relentlessly;
'What must Clinton do to win this race?"
Reality will rear its rude head at some point though, once Bill has called in all his favours...

I've noticed that Senator Clinton has looked at this as something like a ball game where it's not over until the bell rings at the end.

I think a better analogy would be a chess game. I see Senator Obama slowly knocking off Clinton's pawns, rooks, knights, etc. until there is just the King and Queen left, while Obama still has most of his pieces on the board. In the mean time Hillary just keeps moving her two pieces left around and around just out of reach of the checkmate situation and is saying "can't catch me" and yet everyone who is watching the game knows that it's really only a matter of time before she's cornered.

She made too many mistakes in the beginning. She s nothing like her husband and is making him look like an idiot. The press is just as stupid for not calling this a long time ago.

BTW, the actor ROY set up his donations BEFORE he died, to donate to Obama 50 bucks a month. ROY was that dedicated to Obama.

So Rose, your idiotic post is well idiotic and mean and ill intentioned. Just like your candidate.

I will have to agree with one thing...

Go Hillary...go (and keep on going)

The actor's name is Roy Scheider and he had set up automatic payments on his credit card to donate to the campaign. I fail to see how this is Obama's fault, nor how it makes him a fraud.

If you want to talk about fraud, look up the Paul v. Clinton trial.

Turn out the lights....the parties over. Clinton now has to decide if she is a Democrat or a petulant brat. Will she begin the healing and bring her supporters back into the fold. Or will she destroy the party and the Clintons reputation over narcissism?

There won't be any mention of this on the MSM. They are trying their damnedest to stretch this thing out as long as it can go. It's good for their ratings. For the moment they are all Pro HIllary and the line you'll be hearing is "Obama can't close the deal"...which he did weeks ago.

That's because they are watching Hillary act like a raving, screaming, maniac - she's evaporating right in their faces - and she's sending her husband out in the boondocks of Indiana and North Carolina to divide the races and say any and everything racists - someone should be out their watching Bill Clinton because remember the Senator that called a camera man a racial name, facacta (sic) when he thought no one was listening -

If 70 Hillary contibutors have begun to finance Barack Obama, then we ARE at last hearing the dingey- dingey-dong of the bell for Hillary. Hillary can read that money stuff! If she can't read the actual game math, or even tea leaves, she can read money like nobody's business. Obama, thankfully, has decided to stick with his own campaign themes and let Hilllary shadow box with herself. Obama is smart to stick it to her by ignoring her. She can't stand it for long and will soon deal herself a knock out blow, by her own mouth landing firmly against her own fist. Gee, I hope this is not too indelicate for other 60-ish women.

This says a lot when people who have supported her with money or endorsements have become so disgusted that they decide they have to go public to announce they can no longer support her. Doesn't it make Hillary supporters think about how bad it has to be for these publice figures to go public and say they were wrong to support her? I really wish I could have a rational discussion with a Hillary supporter who would be willing to explain why:

1. It would be "fair" to give Hillary the nomination when she is losing. (Forget the fuzzy math, this is about delegates according to the rules of the party.)
2. Why she said McCain has better credentials to be president.
3. Why the rules should be changed in the middle of the game when she and Bill had the power to change the rules when they ran the party and didn't.

There are a lot of other questions, but to start out, these would be great. The problem is everyone is emotional about their candidate and it is tough to be losing but only one can win. Obama is winning and the math says she can't win without overturning the decision of the voters. So how can Hillary win at this point?

A year ago, when Hillary was being acclaimed as the once and future POTUS, and Barack was down by 20+ points, I was writing here on HuffPo that we couldn't afford another round of amoral clintonian style politics.

While I remain concerned about Obama's lack of experience, and would have been just as happy to support Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, John Edwards or Bill Richardson - I am more convinced than ever that the Clintons have nothing to offer our country, in terms of principle centered leadership. They are - both of them - utterly devoid of principles, as this campaign has made painfully clear.

As a single father who raised two daughters, always telling them that everything in life is within their grasp, it has been hard to watch so many otherwise intelligent feminists abandon their moral world view just so a woman could sit in the big chair. I will be thrilled to vote for a woman, when one rises up who has both the character and the competence that the office requires.

Finally, my personal thanks to every woman who has posted on this blog - and elsewhere - to let the world know that the practice of identity politics is NOT in the best interests of anybody - not women, not blacks, not the country and not the world in these difficult times.

As far as experience goes, the main experience of Hillary Clinton that I can recall ,was her complete botch of the health care proposal in the early 90's. I'm a 76 year old grandmother who is not against having a woman for president, but I agree with you, not this gal. Somehow I don't trust her, nor do I believe the words that whistle from John McCains mouth.

As a woman, I often have to remind myself in between cringes that this shrill, devious, dishonest, and power mad candidate for President is also a woman who is involved in a watershed event. To use her favorite words, "Shame on you, Hillary Clinton"...for blowing it, when there are so many women who are well-qualified to lead this land but have not been afforded your opportunities.

I agree with one of the donor's comments. Now, I cannot even bear to hear Hillary open her mouth. Her vitriolic attacks against one of her own, have nothing to do with the good of the country, but reflect instead the Clinton's insatiable thirst for always more power.

From, one disgusted feminist. Hillary is giving intelligent women a bad rep.

Attacks are of course, part of politics. It's her lying, and the sort of off handed way she dismisses it that really bothers me.
