Obama, 46, an Illinois senator, began his drive for the nomination with a message of unity and the pledge that he wouldn't run a typical political campaign. Today, Obama said he realized his campaign had strayed in recent weeks.

vsign ,why don't you step down!!!!
This is a true leader who can stand his ground. If you did a little more research there is more on Clinton, but we don't hear about that , so tell me how bias the media is!
If anybody needs to step down it is Clinton, if anyone can show the math on how she will win lets see the MATH! Not the Clinton math the real math, you know the math that Karl Rove used for the 2006 elections were he said his math showed the Republicans winning!

Sorry, this is a democracy. Hillary has every right to stay in the race. Obama himself says so. I guess you're another that just doesn't get how our country works.

"Obama says a fuel-tax moratorium would take money away from highway and bridge construction that the U.S. needs to spend while saving most people about $25 over the summer. "
...............................................
Let me get this straight
Gasoline prices have doubled in recent years to $4/gal, So McCain wants to remove diesel fuel taxes, (24.4 cents/gal) and all taxes on gas until September while Clinton blasts Obama for opposing getting rid of the current (18.4 cents/gal) federal levy on gasoline. Wow a few years ago $100 of gas will today cost $200. These two are proposing taking away highway funds (for the repair of dilapidated and unsafe roads) so that same amount of gas will cost $192 and $189, respectfully.

Obama is right. Its obvious that McCain and Clinton (same page again)! are relying on using carrots to buy votes (it stinks). Our infrastructure is in need of serious funding. Taking away funding is economically bankrupt and just an election gimmick!

If Clinton/McCain want to cut funding why don't they cut war funds. We need roads, not wars.

Save America!

There are millions of working class Americans that would love a little relief at the pumps. At this stage, any decrease will help many.

Obama should step down. Voters, the American people, do not want any more of this drama between Obama and his pastor. Listen to the American people for once and do your civic duty. There will be lots of apologists for what has transpired between Rev Wright and Obama. Communicate what we are feeling too.

This is our time as Americans to move ahead. We cannot do that with Obama. He is not credible any longer. Obama - please step down. Do it for your country and the American people.

I am 60 years old, a lifelong democrit. Obama is the finest candidate, bar none, that I have seen run for the office of the presidency. To pass up the chance to elect this man to the office he was born for would be a crime. Hillary is more of the same old politics. Obama needs to hang in there. He is winning.

I disagree. I am 53 and have seen better candidates. JFK for one. RFK also. Bill Clinton was a good president, for those that can get past his affair with Lewinsky. I wouldn't mind another Clinton administration at all.

Maybe we should talk about unemployement, jobs, economic security and et al. Did you read about Obama's call for discussing issues. The election is only six months away.
Obama is the most credible to me, by a long shot.

That would be nice...a discussion of the issues. Can he do it? And that means his cronies need to stop the negativity, too. Can they do it?

hillary is conducting the more negative campaign by far! she never misses an opportunity to take the low road. the likes of you criticize him for not taking the bait, for taking the highroad. it's clear that if barack wanted to go negative on hillary, he certainly could. he's trying to salvage the party. and yes, he can discuss the issues. contrary to hillary's racist stereotype of barack as a thief who steals all of her ideas (she even accused him of being a copy cat for going on the colbert report, for god's sake!), barack has developed his own proposals. but whereas clinton panders to people by laying out a laundry list of things SHE's going to do for us, Barack paints with a broad brush, calling on us to work together to move the country forward.

If any one needs to step down it's Hillary. This Rev.Wright crap is nonsense comparing to Hillary and the Paul case in California. Obama has a crazy pator and Hillary took illegal campaign funds, and lied about it. and that's just the tip of the iceberg. If you can't tell which one of these people should step down you're an idiot. I'm getting so tired of people like you who don't know fact from fiction....get a freakin clue! Hillary is a Liar, and a crook!

Nobody is stepping down. In case you haven't heard, America is a democracy. Hillary has every right to stay in the race. Especially after winning the last two primaries. Even your candidate says she should stay. But then he seems to know a little more about how democracy works.

Obama needs to turn more of his focus to The Bush Years and stop trying to put out the stupid little fires the Clintons keep setting in trash cans. Hillary Clinton has lost mathematically so she doesn't matter that much anymore. Focus on McCain and the press will follow. They've probably reached the limit of their attention span with the Clintons and will welcome the change. Hillary will become increasingly starved of oxygen and fade out fast.

Oh like Clinton made Wright damn America, and Hillary made Obama defend wright, huh?? Obamians are trip. They are just as reality impaired as the bushies.

"Reality impaired" seems to be dodging bullets in Bosnia. It's accusing your opponent of political posturing with the Canadians over NAFTA when your own supporters did it. It's calling New Hampshire a great come-back victory when a twenty percent margin really had turned into three. It's claiming that the people of Michigan all want you even though your opponent wasn't even on the ballot. It's offering the winner in the primaries a secondary spot on your ticket. It's claiming donations to the campaign that turn out to be a five million dollar loan from yourself. It's bringing up the race card then denying you denied bring up the race card. It's... It's... It's... One could go on and on. But the Clinton apologists always flip their own faults to the opponent.

We aren't talking about Hillary, are we. But if you must, her little lie harmed no one. It offended no one. She told a little white lie about her landing in Bosnia to put on a macho face. She's the only girl in an all boys club.

Did Hillary buy the governor in North Carolina, too?

She must really be in debt now.

He's the frontrunner. He'll end up with the most pledged delegates. He'll be the nominee. Deal with it.

If Hillary wins by superdelegate coup, Dems can say good-bye to the youngest voters forever and African Americans for a generation. And then they can say hello to President McCain in November.

If you're a superdelegate and you read this, grow a spine. You may be afraid of the Clintons, but there is nothing they can do to you once Obama is the nominee. They will fade ungracefully into the sunset. High time, too.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:16 PM on 04/29/2008

Wall Street Journal has an article today that indicates Super Delegates lean heavily towards Obama. Most of the uncomitted Super Delegates are now DNC insiders and not the Elected Super Delegates. Most of them are from Obama States.

If Obama can keep it close in Indiana and deal a double digit blow in North Carolina, its hard for me to fathom that nomination would be taken away from him, but the Super Delegates from his OWN States,, that he has handily won.

It bears repeating - most of the uncommited Super Delegates are DNC insiders from Obama States.

It is sad that two latest polls, that I have trouble believing (PPP and Survey USA) have Hillary up in Indiana by 8-9 points. If those results show up on Election day, it would be a devastating blow to Obama. However, Survey USA can not be trusted. Their last poll had Hillary up by +16. So if anything it shows the momentum, even in their joke of a poll is behind Obama.

Didn't PPP have Obama above Clinton going into the PA primaries? Have their polls been right yet?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:46 PM on 04/29/2008

Exactley what I was sayings. Elections and polls are different. One: Polls change and are limited in number of people asked six months before the election. Two: Elections take place on elction day nad are generally more accurate. Three: Obama leads now in votes.

Clinton's negative messages resound only with those who are willing participants in a process of being duped, lied to, manipulated.

It's the price they pay to have any reason not to face their inner prejudices.

Obama needs only to keep looking, and moving forward, past the side street jeers and taunts of those stuck in the gutter muck, who are doing their best to get him to stop his progression, look their way and engage with them as they regurgitate their Linda Blair like slime.

As he passes, their only tactic, is a school yard ploy to attack his bravery, his manhood, his pride.

How childish and how shortsighted they are, as their slime will follow him to the ring where he will need to fight for us all on slippery shoes.

Well, bless his heart. Obama didn't know a presidential campaign would be rough? What's he think the presidency is going to be like? A cakewalk?

Clinton has been treated much worse and she seems to be able to handle it.

Some feel Rev. Wright's "anguish at this moment in history is tiny compared with the importance of electing Barack Obama."

An argument can be made on the flip side. Is Barack's run more important than addressing the raw race issue that we all knew would emerge sometime during this election cycle or the next or the next. The burden of proof rests with America after Wright's indictment. The ball is in our collective court. Will America answer Wright or kick the ball down the road?

I also see this as a challenge to Barack's theme of change. If he is truly represents new thought, then he will not disown Wright as he is being called to do. That would be the conventional act. I feel he has done enough and those who REFUSE too distinguish Barack from Wright, never will. It's their choice. Those who WILL not, will not out of bigotry and no degree of separation is effective.

Barack's campaign will deal with this situation without Barack playing the game, but rather changing it. The temptation is great for a public beheading of Rev. Wright. Free thinkers know that such a transparent act will be viewed as purely political and make Barack just another politician. In the end, it's his call and he has to live with the consequences.

Will Barack, blood-stained saber in one hand, Wright's severed blood dripping head in the other, really help him? I for one hope we never find out.
