Right Wing Group Paying Kids To Deny Global Warming (VIDEO)

The right-wing organization WorldNetDaily (WND) is rewarding children for "debunking" global warming in a new video/essay contest. "The contest was launched early in 2008 and was designed to highlight the absurdities, untruths and downright lies that children are being taught daily about 'climate change' in public school," the site states. "Contest winners will receive a cash prize, a copy of 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' DVD courtesy of junkscience.com, and copies of 'The Sky's Not Falling' for their local school library and their kids' science classroom."

Easy essay. It has been cooling for last 10 years. NASA restated error temp data, now 4 of 5 hottest years are in the 1930's. Hottest year is 1934. The temperature has dropped drastically in last 16 months. The oceans have also cooled.

Global warming again. In the 60's Oceans were rising and the cities on the coast would be beneath the ocean by the year 2000.

Just a few years ago we were all going to be cooked because of huge holes in the ozone layer.

I have not seen any sign of widespread death and destruction from the lack of ozone.

Come on folks get real.

If it is too hot somewhere it is because of global warming.

If it is too cold somewhere it is because of global warming.

I really don't think you can have it both ways.

Saying that folks in the far north didn't have a name for robins was so funny. There was a name for robins in that far north community that was documented back in the EARLY 1900's.

Don't get upset but the world temp is supposed to DROP this year because of EL NINA. With this drop the world temp would not have risen since 1998.

NO RISE IN GLOBAL TEMP since 1998.

If we are about to be cooked - why has there been NO rise in 10 years.

I just have doubts about folks who told me the cities of the coast would be under water by 2000 telling me that global warming is going to cook me even though there has been NO rise in 10 years.

Give folks the facts ... don't give folks the problem and choose only facts that fit into you problem.

Sea levels rising and flooding islands.

Water sources drying up.

The disconnect is that it hasn't affected you yet. It has started affecting the poor which is something you don't care about.

Because the earth is big... really really big. Average global temperature is going to take a long time to change. But look at the difference between now and the '60s. It was a full degree higher in 2004 than it was in 1964. And average global temperature is not the most reliable indicator of climate change. If the average temperature in the northern hemisphere goes up 10 degree and it goes down 9.9 degree in the southern hemisphere, then the overall average only goes up a tenth of a degree. Although we're not at this type of extreme yet, that's the type of thing that's going on. We have more extremes of temperatures, not just warmer temperatures.

The right wing is absolutely shameless in the dumbing down of our nation. What is considered to be the second greatest threat to the world by NATO, which the United States leads, Global Warming/Climate Change is an issue that we cannot refuse to acknowledge. The rest of the world recognizes the issue and looks to America for leadership and answers. The right wing have none, other than fuck the planet as hard as they can and extract as much money as they can. They are the pimps, the earth is the whore, and we ignorant Americans are their primary john, lining up and consuming almost as much as the rest of the world combined.

We need a change in leadership of this country. We need someone with a plan to get us off of fossil fuels and make America energy self-sufficient. This is not a pipe dream. It can be accomplished, and very easily. All it requires is a plan, some leadership, and the will of the nation. We can take the steps to change our economy, find prosperity for all, clean up our environment and become world leaders again. The first step is to pick the correct leader. The next step is to admit we have a problem. The final step is a commitment to a plan to change for the better. Will Americans fight the dumbing down the right wing continues to force upon us and make the right decisions? We will find out soon.
