Travis Childers, the Democratic congressional candidate who has the chance to flip Mississippi's first congressional district from Republican to Democrat, is so concerned with Mississippi voters falsely believing that he's been endorsed by Barack Obama that he has decided to cut an ad calling that claim "an attack."

Republican Greg Davis links Rev. Jeremiah Wright through Obama to Childers using a silly but apparently time-tested guilt by association advertisement. Childers's new ad protests. . His family, he says in the spot, "has heard the lies and attacks linking me to politicians I don't know and have never even met." (The Davis ad also refers to Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi, as well as Obama.)

Stupid stories like this are more toxic then anything else.

It shows strongly how much strength the media has to make people stupid, which is waht rethugs and the rich elite want above all else.

Travis Childers is a wimp. Not the kind of change I believe in. That's okay. Let all the wimpy dems go. We'll get the change we need in the end.

To answer your question-- NO, Obama isn't toxic. Racism is toxic. The Politics of distraction are toxic. Spineless sell outs are toxic. War is toxic. Are Americans able to think for themselves? Because if not, I've got a president to sell you and he smells like rotten meat. That's a riddle. Good luck with it.

I've supported Obama for the past year or so - with high hopes. However, with the Wright connection, I am starting to get a feeling of Dukakis redux. The RNC and the right wing 527s will flood the airwaves in November with videos of (a) Wrights rant's and (b) Michelle Obama's bitterness toward the USA. Our nation cannot live through another four years of Bush fiscal and national security policies. It appears that is exactly what we'll get with a McCain presidency. What do we do? Does it really have to be BO or HRC in November? Joe Biden - where are you now that we need you? Oh well!

Red State Democrat Elected Officials would do well by learning this lesson when selling their soul for Obama support or fund raising. Obama himself has spent a Quarter of a Billion Dollars and still cannot get Reagan Democrats or Latinos outside of a 90-mile radius of Chicago or Washington DC to vote for him.

So Obama support may prove fatal regardless of how much money might be available. You will open yourself up to all of Obamas baggage and the belief that you moved too far left to keep Democrats that are more centrist on your side.

Clinton, just like centrist strategy that won back the House and Senate last cycle is the only way to go, unless self-destruction is on your list of things to do.

Any questions?

Yes Mississippi another state that's red that obama carried in the primary count all those red states he carried none of which will turn Blue in November. This race is not about delegates but about electoral votes and Hillary has that path locked up. So if you Obama supporters want to be singing hail to the chief in November to a senile old man then you better back the iron lady

The best has won, the media would like you to believe that it's still a race, but Clinton needed 63% of the vote going forward BEFORE Penn to catch up. When she only got 55% of the vote in Penn, she now needs 68% of the vote going forward. Her "win" in Penn was actually a loss in the sense that she didn't do nearly as well as she needed to.

She hasn't done that in any state yet besides Arkansas ... not even her now-home state of NY.

It just isn't going to happen, she'll be lucky to win by 5 points in IN, she'll lose in NC, OR, and MT. In other words, she has lost. There is simply no other way to spin it without lying.

Obama is so toxic that Hillary is the only hope ..The Clintons hold the record for the biggest economic growth of any presidency and they hold the longest peace keeping time of any presidency....But we also see not a candidate but a complete family totally dedicated in securing the nomination for a family member ..which means everyday The Clintons have been working their heart out ...just to serve the unappreciated task of running this country..Bill has pounded the pavement everyday... We have Chelsea..taking leave from work flying all over the USA ..spending her daily life supporting her mom and taking the crude remarks of cynical people...THIS IS A FAMILY WORKING TOGETHER..LIKE NO OTHER CANDIDATES COMPLETE FAMILY INVOLVEMENT>.THE CLINTONS TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY >>.......It is grueling day in day out...campaigning for what THE CLINTONS BELIEVE..and you don't have to love Hillary but you have to give her credit where it is due and admire her strength ,knowledge, accomplishments and determination.....The same for Bill..and Look at Chelsea..giving up her daily life for her strong beliefs in her mothers cause and electibility...THESE ARE THE MAKINGS OF A STRONG FAMILY OF DETERMINE PEOPLE WHO have over comed adversity and FIGHTING FOR THE EVERDAY AVERAGE AMERICAN>>>I HOPE THAT THESE SAME PEOPLE SHOW THEIR SUPPORT AND LET HILLARY DO US THE FAVOR OF BEING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES>>ignore sour grape people..GOD BLESS AMERICA WITH HILLARY CLINTON!

P.S. Everyone who knows anything about economics knows that no matter who was the president in the 90's we would have had a surplus. See Post-war economys. The difference this time is that this war is funded by borrowed money no surplusses coming my friend. If Hillary touches the presidency the only truely happy people will be Columbia, Dubai, China and all the other countries the Clintons owe little favors to.

How can you make that argument when 60% of voters find her untrustworthy, the Right has already prepared "Hillary -- The Movie" to release in full if she is nominated, and when the Republicans despise her and her husband so much that they will break records at the polls to vote against her. Just because Obama is taking some heat right now (and fairing pretty well despite of it) doesn't mean there isn't a ton of ammunition aiming right at Clinton when and if it appears she will be the opponent.

Let me preface this by saying I will vote for Obama in the GE even though I support Hillary.

I'll not only vote for him, I'll work for him here in FL. Okay? So don't knee jerk and attack me just give me a chance to say ...

I don't know how many of the more passionate Obama supporters on Huffpo are new voters but you guys have made it your mission to destroy Hillary and you took your eye off the real goal:

THE GENERAL ELECTION.

You guys should email Axelrod and ask him why the hell he didn't have a strategy for the Rev. Wright thing. Axelrod knows the repubs would did up this dirt. Heck - Axelrod dug up dirt on Obama's Chicago opponent's divorce when Obama ran for the ILL legislature. Axelrod must have known this was coming. How could he possibly allow Obama to beieve otherwise.

And I don't know how much you understand about how caucus delegates work -- but Gary Hart saw his delegate lead disappear when his caucus delegates switched sides after Hart got caught with his mistress.

Obama's caucus delegates are estimates -- they are not locked in until the caucus states hold their primaries in June. They are not committed until then.

With Fox News banging on Obama -- those cacus delegates can simply choose to not show up at their state conventions and Hillary gets the lead. Caucus math is very iffy.

Please allow me to say that while there is a vocal minority that appears to view one or the other of the Democratic candidates as "toxic", for the overwhelming majority of us, that is just plain not true.

I will gladly vote for any nominee, of any party, who stands a chance of stopping the right-wing train wreck that we are all being forced to ride on. It looks like our choice will be either Barack or Hillary against John, and I will joyously support whichever candidate is the eventual nominee, although I do indeed have a preference for one over the other.

Just because I have a preference for one of the Democratic candidates, that does not mean that I think that that candidate is without fault. I do not expect whoever I vote for to be perfect, only to try to be the best that they can be.

If Obama gets the Democratic nomination, not only will the Republicans keep the White House, but they will take by the Senate, possibly the House. Obama is that toxic.

Too bad Obama with his ego and impatience ran before he possessed any experience to be President, dooming himself and the American people. Now, out of ego, people like Carolyn Kennedy, Michael Moore, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry who realized too late they backed a losing horse are desperately trying to redeem Obama's ruined reputation because when Obama goes down, he's going to drag Oprah, Carolyn Kennedy and many others who don't want to see their image tarnished. So, they are forced out of ego to defend Obama's ego war with Wright's ego. But, then again, the Carolyn Kennedy and Ted Kennedy only endorsed Obama because he flattered their aristocratic egos.

It's over for the Democrats unless the Clintons who gave up ego a long time ago when Starr put his findings on the internet are allowed to get the nomination. Not only will Hillary beat McCain, but her victory will save many Democrats running for Congress.

" the Clintons who gave up ego a long time ago when Starr put his findings on the internet"

Oh my goodness...
Hil has you good.
Hillary, and the REAL candidate Bill, have the ENTIRE market cornered on "ego".
And the release of the Starr report--Monica scandal, then overcoming the subsequent impeachment proceedings only served to REINFORCE their "We Own This" attitude?!

Your argument lacks substance... However, is tall on what seems to be your fantasy political wishlist.

I just hope you can come to terms with it when someone finally does tell you the truth--Obama is the best candidate AND our Democratic nominee--and actually vote for the truth in November.

According to the Department of Education and Hillary Clinton, Mississippi ranks last in education out fo the 50 states.

Education and smarts aren't always the same thing. Regardless of their level of education I doubt if the people of Mississippi are any stupider than any other Americans. I work in an inbound national call center and talk to people from all 50 States and Puerto Rico. I have my theories about where the stupid Americans live. Mississippi doesn't even make the top ten of stupid people.

The South is very backwards, reactionary and irredeemably racist. I highly doubt that will change in my lifetime. That being said, Regardless of race I have done a "Benedict Arnold" and decided that BO is not the way to go. And it's half the toxic, slithering MSM fault and half his fault. He SHOULD HAVE HAD HIS DUCKS IN A ROW. He didn't , and now black folks and all his other supporters have to pay the price. Which is why we need to cut him loose and let him continue being a fine senator (who wasn't ready for prime time). I'm sad about it, but it takes an extremely strong, extremely combative person to survive the current 24 hr news cycle climate, and he is not tough enough. Clinton is corrupt and phony but she is tough as nails and will rip McDumb a new one if she is nominated; let her do her thing and go to work on the GOP, LOL.

Except for the part excoriating the South, which you may or may not actually know anything about, I agree with you. I'm an Independent, formerly Republican. I never wanted to vote Republican in this election for obvious reasons. I have friends who are Republican, Democrat, and don't even know what they are philosphically, and all but a very few would vote for Clinton over McCain in a heartbeat. Not Obama. If the Dems want any chance to redeem themselves they have to nominate Clinton, because regardless of what the polls and urban myths say, she's the one who could defeat the Republicans. Nominate Obama and we'll be saying 'President McCain.'

And just F.Y.I., Alabamians cast 300,319 votes for Obama, and 223,089 for Hillary.

But some here are so ennamored of "winningh" thaat they don't care what they win. Hillaary is as Republican as McCain. A win for her is no win for vthe Democrats. Nor a win for America.
