The Silly Season of Politics v. National Security (and other insignificant issues)

This video shows what is more important in this political primary, thanks to the media. I can say however, this video has its point: Clinton attacks Obama stating he's an elitist, yet she cannot even pour her own coffee.

Since we are all Americans and live in the same country, it would seem we were all searching for the same things: the security of our nation, both now and in the future. So it makes me question why the media is playing itself in loops about things that do not matter and ignoring those that do, namely, the security of the nation. We can tit for tat Wright and Obama associations, Clinton"s associations with the Fellowship along with its Nazi originations, Rendall praising Farrakhan, McCain accepting the endorsement from Rev. John Hagee Pat Roberton and Jerry Falwell blamed the 9-11 attacks not on foreign policy like Wright did, but on America"s abortionists, feminists, gays and A.C.L.U. lawyers.

The media has created and perpetuated the frenzy and its partiality to certain candidates while ignoring the danger of others makes me ask why. Why is the media more interesting in holding back instead of telling the truth? Does not America mean anything to anyone anymore or is the mighty dollar- which is not so mighty anymore- God?

Hilary looks the other way, former President Clinton looks the other way. The media is all we have left.

C'mon guys, we've all been baffled and confused by standard day to day vending machines! It's part of Skynet's (Google's) evil plan to enslave the human race! Hillary is a fighter! She's fighting Skynet (Google) even when we aren't aware of it's massive threat to us all. Besides, you ever try getting a cup of coffee while dodging sniper fire?

CLINTON 08!!

So? What are we to get from that? She would be a bad president? Silliness. I *do* think she's unfit to be president, but for very real reasons, not some manufactured embarrassing moment. MSNBC (and other networks) should be paying more attention to her Iran statements, her gas tax holiday plan, and other real issues. The MSM should be ashamed at the piss-poor job they're doing in providing the public with significant and relevant information with regards to this pivotal and historic choice that we all have to make.

The irony is rich!
she attempts to hold a photo op to prove she's connected to the average class folks
and she can't make coffee

she attempts to hold an photo op wherein she "gasses up" and rolls in an entourage of 8 or 9 SUVs
and can't work the pump.

She just be true to who she is and stop trying to pretend.

I'm an Obama supporter and I don't get this video. Some people seem to think this shows she somehow doesn't understand "real" life. I don't think she does, but that machine looks like an odd one, not like the coffee machine at any of the gas stations around here(they all have pots of coffee on a warmer type thing), and we really don't know if it's malfunctioning or not, or if she's never used one like that..what next? a video of her walking out of a bathroom with tp stuck to her heel? or a video of her typing errors while searching the web?

Politics of distraction for the loss...

We have the same "odd machine" in most of the gas stations here in the wilderness of Oregon. In this configuration, it sits right next to the one with the coffee pots that most of the customers use. So what comes out of the machine? Cappuccino, Latte, maybe hot chocolate. The whole point seems to be: if you're going to remake a person of privilege into some something she is manifestly NOT, you have to do your homework and not let the candidate just press on with something that does not exist in her world.

I'm old enough to remember shots of Nixon walking his dog down the beach wearing a Brooks Brothers suit and Florscheim wing-tip shoes. Have we learned nothing?

Yeah, this is probably the first time in many years that she's even attempted to get herself a cup of coffee. It shows how inept she'd really be during a "3 AM" phone call, LOL

So now all you ObamaMorons think call her an elitist. because I'm sure you have never done anything silly like that right, you're all in Obama's perfect little world. I don't drink gas station coffee either, Pretty sure I'm not an elitist.

Some people will still fall for her blue collar act, even after the gas pumping and coffee machine incidents. I laughed out loud when I saw this clip on the news, its pure comedy.

i too, laughed out loud when i saw this on the news. they didn't say anything about it then, in fact the story was about clinton's connecting to small towners... i'm so glad that, although it's not really news, Huffington put it up for us to mock. because i got the same contradicting message as all of my brilliant friends here on HP; that this was ironic, funny, pathetic, clearly clinton is "in-touch".

Every politician has had coffee served in the finest china, with silver spoons, organic creme and yuppie sugar. They have also gulped down powdered sludge with powdered creme in foam cups. So what?

Imagine if Hillary would have spilled a cup, heaven forbid.
Huffpost and CNN would have featured that for a week with top billing.
The pettiness and vindictiveness on display here is pathetic.

I don't like HRC or any neocon for lots of good reasons. But the coverage of this by Huffpost says much more about this site than it does about HRC.

Good for the Obama supporters who did not jump on this bandwagon. And to those idiots who did, what the hell is wrong with you people?

you say that! But you laughed when Obama rolled a 38 in bowling! His problem is that he tried to look like bowlers on TV and not just throw it straight down the lane.

This is a classic political moment. Obama isn't running as a man of the people. That is what I like about him. I want an elitist, smart, well-read, articulate, calm, and sensible, family man to lead our nation.

This video shows that she is about as in touch with working people issues as George H.W. Bush was familiar with bar code scanning technology in 1991. I think Hillary is an elitist, smart, well-read, articulate, calm, and sensible, family woman. Her problem will be all of Bill's yet to be exposed philandering (or at least accusations thereof) and the fact that 59% of the electorate starts off distrusting her or with a negative opinion of her.

Obama is an elitist who is uncomfortable publically embracing his elitism despite being one of the 5% most educated poeple on the planet (Doctors, Lawyers, and Professors). Hillary's problem is that she is now trying to run on this woman of the people thing. Videos like this cut directly against that "image". She's adopted this tack b/c she could no longer run on the "i'm experienced, I've been shot at tack".

If you think Obama-backers are starting to get upset, then your right. We have lost our patience. Do the right thing and get out now.

You _are_ aware that what everyone knows about Bush vs Scanning machine thing is all wrong, yes?

It wasn't at a market, but a trade convention. The machine in question was not standard issue in the stores, but a demo of an advanced model. President Bush made a big deal out of to the guys running the demo - probably out of politeness.

The story was written by a guy who wasn't there - Andrew Rosenthal - from two paragraphs of the larger story by the pool reporter, Gregg McDonald.

Its being covered by thousands of blogs, websites, local news stations, and cable channels worldwide. Did you really think any political site would NOT cover it?

So if FOXNews, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, People magazine and TMZ cover a story then that is good enough for you dct1999?
Fine, set your standards so very low that you accept anything that is covered by the disgraced discredited corporate mass media, as valid.

Some people capable of critical independent thinking have decided that this story is pure bunk. You choose to eat what ever mass media feeds you. OK it's a free country, sort of.

Hey look over there dct, Miley Cyrus is half naked.
It must be important because blogs, websites, local news stations, and cable channels worldwide say so.
