LONDON — Producer Mark Ronson says he and Amy Winehouse have abandoned recording the theme to the latest James Bond film because the singer is not ready to work.

Ronson says the singer is "not ready to record any music." He produced much of Winehouse's Grammy-winning "Back to Black." He made the comments in an interview with Sky News on Friday.

Ronson says the two started work on the track for the upcoming Bond movie "Quantum of Solace" but it would take "some miracle of science" to finish it.

Winehouse's troubles with drugs, the police and her rocky romance with her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil have kept the singer in the spotlight.

Police gave her a formal warning last week after she scuffled with two men during a raucous night out.

Gee, hounded day and night by assholes with cameras taunting her: "Sing for us Amy, sing!" They follow her into the bathroom for Christ's sake, Every misstep amplified a thousand times, obsessed over by creeps like this frissons freak here, and she still can't seem to get it together wow, whodathunkit.

That's really sad. I was looking forward to it- she could be a modern-day Shirley Bassey.

I am surprised at all the venom in the comments. The woman obviously has more problems than she can handle. Just because someone has earned fame and money doesn't mean that it doesn't create new problems or exacerbate old ones. If you have mental instability before you become famous does it suddenly go away? If you have a drug problem before you get rich does it magically disappear? No and no, and most probably they get worse especially when there are 50 cameras watching your every mistake. Good luck in recovering and working toward a balance a of a successful career with a healthier lifestyle, Amy.

Duffy could do it.

But in the meantime, Amy needs to take a loooooooooooooong vacation - she's basically just a kid, in deep trouble, with enough dough she doesn't need to listen to anyone but really she should. She shows up in court high. I doubt she's ever sober enough to know what she's doing to her life.

Let's not ridicule her for not being able to work. Let's applaud her for taking the time off, or at least the people around her for finally stepping in and making her take a break.

as a recent ex- liberal, I can now see what people talk about when they discuss the left wing...left wingers complain about the Conservative Party, but from evidence on this post shows that the left wingers are the pathetic ones. Can you say "no clue"

How anyone in this country could look around them and see what the Lunatic Right has wrought and think it'd be a good idea to join them is beyond me. Talk about no Clue.

You need help, bad! You need to go to rehab.. and say, YES, YES, YES.

I thought she was dead.

Oh well, any day now.

Bond would never go near a skank like her, unlike, say, Carly Simon.

Has anyone ever tried compassion? It tastes better than hate.

What happened to "compassion", folks?
Perhaps one has to "live and risk" to have an appreciation for the process of life.

After EVERYTHING she has done, why on earth would the Bond makers, thoroughly decent chaps after four decades in the business, wish to give her the honour of singing the title track? We should punish such trash, not reward and honour them!

They could get Britney Spears to finish it.

Goofy bimbo thinks she's Billie Holiday. Instead of doing music for Bond flicks, why not sing in a choir for a while and try to get a little religion? Can't hurt.

She needs long-term inpatient hospitalization. And a miracle to get her into a 12-step program.

Wow, that new Bond movie seems to be cursed. Car wreck, then a stuntman gravely injured, singer unable to pull it together. What next?

Did you ever think that maybe she just doesn't want to sing the song? Perhaps she would rather rest, than go recording with a man who is under the impression he is a musician.

Amy needs to get herself in order to get herself healthy and well. Unfortunately, her well known problems overshadow her talent in the press and this probably isn't great for the Bond Franchise.

They should hire Chris Cornell again. His powerful gritty voice suited the newest James Bond well in Casino Royale and he is such a vertile and creative artist that I would love to hear more.

She's taking her own press too seriously.
