A.L. Kennedy is author of two award-winning collections of short stories, four award-winning novels (Most recently, Paradise) and the award-winning Original Bliss: short stories and a novella. She has also written two non-fiction books and a variety of journalism.

She has been a Booker Prize judge, has written for the stage, film and TV and has edited various anthologies and publications. She was listed among Granta's best of Young British novelists. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has sold brushes door-to-door.
