Irrational Exuberance in Anti-Obama Hatred

Dissent may be patriotic; hate and racism aren't.

The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) has been keeping track of the vile Holocaust/Nazi/fascist/treasonous/anti-Semitic/racist rhetorical comparisons leveled against President Barack Obama and other Democratic leaders; I feel dirty just overseeing the collection of this...

(221) Comments | Posted September 21, 2009 | 3:59 PM

Last April, a blogger asked if Glenn Beck is Jewish. If there were any doubt, Beck's tweet from Rosh Hashanah morning (last Saturday and the start of the Jewish New Year) puts that to rest. At 10:37 a.m. on September 19th @GlennBeck tweeted:

Sept 28. Lets make...

Why is Pat Buchanan Defending Hitler?

(1177) Comments | Posted September 2, 2009 | 5:47 PM

MSNBC conservative commentator and former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan has a history of insensitivity to issues surrounding the Holocaust. Yet again, with the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II, Buchanan posted a telling column on his own website and on Townhall...

The Flawed GOP Playbook

(3) Comments | Posted August 6, 2009 | 3:28 PM

The level of hypocrisy in the GOP playbook is astonishing. Last week, Republicans in the House of Representatives pushed a letter wrongly questioning President Barack Obama's support of foreign aid to Israel, despite the fact that they voted against the administration's foreign aid bill a few weeks earlier...

Jonathan Tobin, Executive Editor of Commentary magazine, penned a piece in The Jerusalem Post, "The Death of Jewish Republicanism?" Tobin uses a hyperbolic title to sell an attack on the Republican Party's latest defector, but in exploring the role of Jews in the Republican Party, what's most shocking is...

Franken Ruled Winner, Again

When I wrote, "What is Best for Coleman?," urging Coleman to drop his court challenge some thought I was being facetious. Maybe Coleman should have listened.

We are now in the next stage of Republican attempts to delay Minnesotans' full representation in the U.S. Senate. Yesterday's strongly worded ruling...

What is Best for Coleman?

This morning when I read JTA's "World War III over a Senate seat?" I couldn't help but worry that this battle may be far from over.

In JTA's post on the Minnesota Senate race, Eric Fingerhut asked, "Will Minnesota ever get its second senator?" Fingerhut immediately answered his...

Nazi Example Used in Critique of Stimulus by Washington Times Editorial

(6) Comments | Posted February 17, 2009 | 12:00 PM

Last week, The Washington Times ridiculously wrote of the "Nazi version of efficiency" when criticizing health care provisions in the stimulus plan. The use of this example is not only inaccurate, but it is insensitive and clearly beyond the pale of even the most partisan critiques of the stimulus...

According to the latest NBC/WSJ poll, "President-elect Barack Obama is enjoying a larger post-election honeymoon with the American public than his recent predecessors did." There are plenty of numbers to illustrate this point and some interesting numbers about how Republicans see Governor Sarah Palin.

67% say...

Palin Campaigns with Senator Who Obstructed Iran Sanctions Bill

(9) Comments | Posted October 23, 2008 | 10:24 PM

What would happen if Senator Barack Obama, Joe Biden or any Democrat campaigned with a Senator who obstructed legislation that would tighten sanctions against Iran? What would the Republican National Committee, the Republican Jewish Coalition, or the McCain campaign say? What would Governor Sarah Palin say?

McCain's False Promise to Move U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem

(2) Comments | Posted July 30, 2008 | 10:29 AM

In his interview with CNN's Wolf Blizter last Friday, Senator John McCain pledged to move the U.S. embassy in Israel "right away" from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Like President George W. Bush and Senator Robert Dole before him, McCain's empty promise to move this embassy is a shameless...

Sometimes it is hard to believe the level of hypocrisy practiced by Senator John McCain and his Republican allies when it comes to their lack of commitment to strengthening and enforcing sanctions against Iran.
