Sorry, I'm not really convinced the story was fake, though I concede it is entirely possible. To me, the photos don't appear to be of the same person and I've been told that the cutting of ears and noses is a not too uncommon form of domestic abuse in Afghanistan.
I need to see more evidence before I'm won over on this argument.

Sooner or later people will figure out that Time Magazine is nothing but a propaganda rag. I wonder if this revelation will get any play. Probably not. The Empire still needs an excuse to keep the war going.

The difference is that Dan Rather is a person and Time is a publication. While someone could take the fall if this really is a fake story, the whole magazine wouldn't fold. Just as the CBS Evening News just got a new anchor.
