With the U.S. presidential election only days away, I thought it would be
fun for my first blog to share some of my predictions about the big day. I practice Vedic
astrology, which originated in India over 5,000 years ago and is the
world's oldest form of astrology. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal
zodiac and is very different from the astronomically incorrect Western astrology, which most people are familiar with. Like many of
you, I had no idea that there even was another type of astrology until I had my
first reading Vedic reading 12 years ago. Now it's impossible for me to
imagine my life without it. After that reading I was so intrigued that
I immediately
went out and bought every book I could find about this ancient mystical
science. The idea that one could potentially change the course of their life by
knowing their destiny in advance completely fascinated me. I quickly discovered
that there was so much more to astrology than the watered-down Western
horoscopes found in newspapers and magazines, designed simply to cater
to the masses.
Vedic astrology was the real deal! A few months later I signed up for
some classes, and
as they say, the rest is history. I never planned on becoming an
astrologer. I believe
that astrology chose me.

Now, back to the election. Let me begin by saying that predicting a clear
winner is extremely difficult due to the number of strengths found in both
Mitt Romney's and Barack Obama's charts. In fact, at the time of the election,
both candidates are passing through some very favorable planetary
cycles (dashas)
and transits, which makes it even more challenging to predict a winner. This
is reflected in the latest media polls, which show that the race is practically tied. Of course astrology is going to reflect this.
The charts of these two individuals happen to be so strong that I could
easily make a case for either person to win. But there is one chart
that does look
more favorable to me.

Before I give my prediction I want to talk a little about Election Day
itself. On Election Day, Nov. 6, Mercury just happens to be turning
retrograde. Mercury is the planet associated with communications,
electronics, computers, writing, thinking and -- you guessed it -- voting! When
Mercury goes retrograde, all kinds of problems and surprises can arise. Because
Mercury affects the mind, people may find it difficult to make a decision,
or decide at the last minute to vote for a completely different candidate.
In addition, voting machines could malfunction and ballots could be counted
incorrectly, and it's even possible that the election results themselves may
be delayed or even reversed. These are just a few of the possible scenarios
that the "little trickster" Mercury could create while retrograde.

This particular Mercury retrograde is also afflicted by Mars and Rahu in the
secretive sign of Scorpio, which adds a great deal of deceptive, fraudulent,
controversial and scandalous energy to the entire voting process, along
with an enormous amount of confusion. We could very well see a situation
similar to
the 2000 presidential election between Al Gore and George Bush, which was followed
by the Florida recount. And guess what? Mercury was retrograde then as well!

So with all that said, maybe you can see how impossible it is to predict
with absolute certainty who will win this year's race. Also, keep in mind
that my prediction is completely based on the accuracy of each candidate's
birth details (date, time and location) and not according to my own political
views.

So here is my prediction. I predict that Barack Obama will be reelected
president of the Unites States. Actually, I predicted this on my Facebook
page back in December 2010, and it was published in an article on
OUT.com in March 2011.

One of the reasons I think Obama will win is because at the time of this
year's election, he is passing through a major Saturn-Saturn dasha. Saturn is
the ruler of his rising sign, Capricorn, and is placed in his rising
sign (first house).
This creates a powerful Mahapurusha Shasha Yoga. In addition, Jupiter is located in the rising sign conjunct Saturn, creating a Neecha Bhanga
Raja Yoga, a
yoga of accomplishment and success. During the election Saturn will be passing
through the sign of Libra, in Obama's tenth house. Saturn is exalted
here in Libra,
its most favorable position, and the tenth house is the house of
career and presidency.

At the time of the election, Mitt Romney is running a major Sun-Mercury
dasha. His Sun
is extremely well placed in his tenth house in his natal chart, along
with Mercury, which
also forms a Raja Yoga. Again, the tenth house is the house of career
and presidency.
On Election Day the Sun is debilitated in the sign of Libra, but
because this Sun joins
an exalted Saturn, the debilitation is canceled, creating Neecha Bhanga
Yoga. Although it's
the ruler of Libra, Venus is currently debilitated in the sign of
Virgo, which may weaken
the outcome. Venus also happens to be the ruler of his rising sign,
Taurus. Mitt's minor
dasha lord, Mercury, will also be forming a Raja Yoga on Election Day.
However, this Mercury
is conjunct Mars and a debilitated Rahu in the sign of Scorpio, which
indicates that if
Mitt Romney does win, there could be some serious allegations of
deception and fraud.
