Live from New York...Vote Hillary!
Let's face it, the Republicans love Hillary Clinton. They quietly in their heart of hearts pine for her to win the Democratic nomination. The Republican Governor of Florida is rolling out the red carpet for a second primary which will favor Clinton. Pat Buchanan can't be quiet about how much he respects Hillary. Even Ann Coulter pal and SNL sketch writer Jim Downey has written several sketches portraying Hillary as picked on by the press. Downey is one of the all time great sketch writers but I know he's no Hillary fan. Don't get me wrong, I like Hillary and still think Bill Clinton is one of our great presidents. But it's weird. Weird like....well, Pat Buchanan praising Hillary Clinton.
Now it's possible the corporate right wants her to win in order to keep afloat the huge economy of Hillary hate bumper stickers that if my numbers are correct generates over 55 billion dollars in revenue for the south.* They also could be supporting her because after over seven years of the absolute incompetence that is the Bush administration they finally get that corporate welfare and tax breaks for millionaires are not good for the economy. Or maybe they think she's Hilary Swank.
But more likely, in fact, screw it, for sure, they are backing her the way I root for Nenad Krstic to cover Keven Garnett so the Big Ticket can put up twenty and twenty on him.
And yes, it's sad that someone as capable as Hillary would be considered fodder for McCain, a "don't change horses in mid-stream, even when it takes that horse twelve years to cross that stream" kind of guy. Senator McCain just got the thumbs up from Bush. Isn't an endorsement from W like a job reference from that astronaut chick who lost it and wore diapers? Well, she is an astronaut and Bush is president.
The biggest upside of this whole thing is that SNL has clearly still got clout even in this day of a thousand channels and a billion internet sites. They influenced a primary for F's sake. That's big. Now I wrote for the show in the nineties and it's an incredible place that's actually as exciting as it seems like it would be. I've seen SNL have incredible political influence in a good way (Dennis Miller's line about Reagan: "It scares me when the finger nearest the button has a string tied around it.") and a bad way (Portraying Bush and Gore as equally buffoonish in their debates. Bush was an embarrassment and the sketch made people think they were in the same ballpark.). It's had its left wing writers like Al Franken and it's right-wing writers like Jim Downey, who also wrote those Bush-Gore debates sketches. Franken is now running for the Senate and Downey is spinning primaries.
There's no doubt our nation's comedic TV political coverage between SNL, the Daily Show and the Colbert Report is far better than the straight news. And though that's a pithy and tired observation, it's also stone cold, for better or for worse, true.
So put your bumper stickers on your cars Repubs: "Hillary in '08, Up Until November, and then McCain!" If you drive an Excursion it'll fit.

my customers in dallas texas are generally, very, very wealthy and 100% "for generations" (er, since the voting rights act of 1965) they've voted STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN. before the voting rights act, of course, they were MAD at republicans because they freed the slaves back in about 1860. they have a very long memory, these generations of republicans. back then, before they changed to republicans, we called them DIXIECRATS (remember them???) democrats in name only. anyhow, yesterday, they were all a very happy, smiling, cat-ate-the-canary lot, pleased that they'd "gotten those damned democrats". wonder why?
because they'd all gone out and, as instructed by their talk-radio heros, voted in the democratic primary for Ms. Clinton, which she won here by about 2 points. but they weren't willing to spend the time to vote in the caucuses. after all, they're rich and they usually send their household staff to do things like that.
which is why Obama won the caucuses in a landslide.
i'm so very proud that our wealthier customers shared the views of the bubbas in the country enough to go out and vote in the democratic primary for the sole purpose of having a candidate they think their REAL candidate can beat. ANYTHING to win an election seems to be a republican thing. too bad someone has to make sure the trains run on time, the bridges don't fall down, the currency remains strong and there's someone around to help when a force-5 hurricane renders an entire region (peopled largely by african-americans) unable to get off its knees.

Your Republican friends missed an important point. Hilary is not easier to beat than Obama.
Hilary gets all the black vote PLUS the latino vote and the war lobby loves her and so does the insurance industry and wall street.
In voting for Hilary in Texas primary, Republicans put Hilary in the White House. Your friends had the choice of helping Obama land a knockout punch and go to the White House or give Hilary a comeback victory which probably gives her the nomination because she can now argue for getting Florida and Michigan back into the race and that will give her the nom easily.
Your friends just made a gigantic boo boo.
If you think screwing Barack Obama by changing the rules at the 11th hour will get all the black votes your dreaming. Without african americans there would be no viable democratic party. Democrats wouldnt win my state of PA without a 90-10 support like Gore got in 2000, coming out of Philadelphia, Think about dade county in florida how much that delivers for democrats. Hillary goes scorched earth on Obama and the democratic party is doomed.

Wow. That is such a big upside. I'm so happy about that. I hope SNL does a funny skit about the sub prime crisis next. I mean, come on, with the kind of clout they have a single parody about a bank foreclosing on someone's home would probably end the whole financial imbroglio. These guys are so insightful about our culture because they’re so popular. I can’t wait until they do something funny to end the war on terror.
The other big upside about SNL is success hasn't gone to their heads. They're just plain folks like you and me except they write political propaganda and pawn it off as sketch comedy.
Yeh, SNL finally had the balls to skewer the media for its blatant bias of pitching Obama and Clinton to beat each other to pulps. (To bad for Edwards who was alway just out of camera range and then they purposely never panning low enough to get Dennis.) The media coverage has sucked. I don't know who came off worse -- Hillary or Obama. But they are both letting the media lead their campaigns.
How about they trump the media and get together in secret and play "One Potatoe Two Potatoe" for

It is articles like this one which begin with a false premise, and go on to weave a tall tale to fill the space, that characterize the Obama phenom. If Obama had what it took, then his cult wouldn't need to create false arguments. If Obama were viable, then it wouldn't take propaganda to sell his message.

Hillary would skin a cat and wear it as a hat to win. Her ambition is as transparent as not noticing Bill was getting blown by the fat intern who saved his fluids as a keepsake. One could argue she was a victim if there hadn't been the eighteen public accusations of near rape in the previous eight years to make you wonder when she was actually going to stand up for women. I think eventually, however, she would make a great statement for gay rights and encourage her to come out once she has grabbed as much power as is humanly possible regardless of who gets hurt. Eleanor Roosevelt would be proud to be the second lesbian to help her husband to a third term.

If your going to skewer Hillary, you should include Barrack in the same sentence. The only reason Barrack ran for the Senate was so he could run for President. Hillary is practicing the politics of Party destruction. Most of us Democrats know she will lose in November if she is the candidate, but she would rather be the candidate and lose rather than bow out and maybe give the party a win. We also know that the numerous newly-registered Democrats will not vote for her. Here is a case where the power is more important to the candidate than the country. I am a 72-year old female who has waited for a lifetime for a female to run. Not this candidate. If a female is going to run, she has to act like a candidate, not a whining female blaming the press. Anyway, she has certainly put enough fodder out there for the other party to feed on. That is precisely why more females are not in office, they pull this gender bias and get all the women riled up without even knowing why. Read the article on Howard Dean and you will understand why is did not cast my vote, nor will I ever, for Hillary Clinton.
Amen, republicans need Hillary to solidify the conservative base and Hillary would be just what the doctor ordered. I knew Jim Downey, the political writer for SNL was a conservative from reading Tom Shales book. I saw Hillary got 8% of her vote from republicans, so Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham telling their conservative voters to cross over and vote for Hillary which made a huge difference. To think we could of coalesced around Obama and been ready to fight McCain. Instead were going to go on for months and waste tens of millions of dollars.
Hillary and Bill will do anything to get the top prize,they will tear apart the Democratic party if it means getting this nomination. They don't care about anyone but themselves, poor Hillary acting like she is getting picked on by the press ,if she can't take it now, what would she do if she becomes President? As far as experience goes just because you slept next to a ex- president when he wasn't out sleeping with someone else for eight years means nothing. She can't even name one foriegn crisis she went thru because as first lady she had no say so on what went on in foriegn matters . She claims 35 years of experience , i never even heard of Hillary 35 years ago, if Hillary happen to get this nomination by using the Clinton dirty tricks handbook i sure will not vote for her for President. I wont vote for status quo John McCain either , i will sit this one out due to nothing will change if either ones elected.

I'm sure you knew she was down in TEXAS 35 years ago without her mentioning it every other day. I never heard McGovern mention her one time well he was running for President. If i'm looking for honesty i sure won't look for the Clinton's to supply it. She has done nothing in her life that makes me want to vote for her, i did vote for for her husband twice, but her being married to him means nothing to me.
Obama supporters are not blindly following a man, they are following a vision, and that vision is possible for America, unless the dinosaurs that support the Hillary cult somehow force the Dems to concede to the past.

19 y.o. Hillary supporter right here. Hillary has support that cuts across demographic lines, just like Obama. She wouldn't have won all the big states she has otherwise. I wish the Obamaniacs would just keep an open-mind towards Hillary, she has done so much good for this country and the Democratic Party.
And Hillary supporters are not a cult. We are very open-minded and are just impressed by Sen. Clintons poise and reasoned solutions for America. We are also very down to earth and not blown away by Obama's airy rhetoric and lack of real political experience.

Look, i am what is called a "yellow dog Democrat", which means i vote for the Dem every time. But... and as Pee Wee used to say, "everyone has a big but", i must take issue about Bill Clinton being a "great President". Yikes. I had such faith in him and he disappointed at every turn.
Lest we forget: He and his wife were so thoroughly middlebrow that they turned into star struck suckers for big money and big names. They sold our children down the river for the sake of NAFTA. The welfare reform was cruel and wrong-headed. Certain populations are still not over it. He did not reform drug laws which means we still have the highest population of prisoners in the world.

They're even more sexist than they are racist, and they've had a lot more time to smear Hillary--they've had a regular HATE HILLARY campaign on since her husband was in the White House--so they think they can beat her. Even if there weren't two GOOD Democratic candidates up these time, I'd vote for whoever wins. The biggest danger we face is letting the left-middle of the road be split by this campaign and lose voters over it in the presidential campaign (as it's said that Humphrey's winning the nomination back in '68 led to McGovern & Kennedy supporters not voting--thus throwing the election to Nixon).
