It's the time of the year again where University students finally take that walk across the stage to grab their diplomas. After four years of reading, studying, not sleeping, and most likely partying, you have made it.
It's been a long road to that Bachelors of Arts. But now, life after the B.A. begins. I wrote this anthem last year when I graduated. Now I pass it on.
The following is an original parody written by Adam Wright, to the tune of "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem and Rihanna.
Just gonna stand here, look for a job
Don't wanna stay home feeling like a slob
Just gonna stand here and search all day
I guess this is life after the B.A
I couldn't tell you what it felt like
Grad Day, it was the biggest days of my life
After Four Years, all the essays I had to write
Readings pages, studying my ass off every night.
All the shit that I took, it's gonna be worth it, right?
In my gown, I get on the stage
All my family and friends looking up at me, heart beat in rib-cage
As I make me way across the stage, they congratulate me
They're so proud of me, I made it
Oh shit, things just got really scary now
This is insane I'll have no problem, I'm a graduate
I got a B.A. with a major on my résumé
But my major isn't on my diploma, that just not right
Bachelor of Arts? Was that really the right way?
From the moment on, life will never be the same
I guess this is life after the B.A.
Just gonna stand here, look for a job
Don't wanna stay home feeling like a slob
Just gonna stand here and search all day
I guess this is life after the B.A
