It's easy to make fun of a vice presidential candidate who can't seem to tell you what periodicals she reads, what Supreme Court cases she disagrees with, or who thinks the First Amendment to the Constitution assures her the right to not be criticized. But today, after seeing Sarah Palin address a rally in famously conservative York, Pennsylvania, I'm not laughing.
Palin was completely impressive, even when calling Obama a socialist.
At the end of the event, she spent at least a half hour shaking hands, walking the rope line. I asked her whether she'd be running for president in 2012. She smiled sweetly and said, "I'll be campaigning for John McCain John McCain's re-election in 2012."
NOTE: I corrected Palin's quote upon review of the audio file.

At another site there was a poster who attended this rally, he said the crowd was small (500-600) and there was no energy at all from the crowd. This person must have seen a different rally.
This comes from the same Adele Stan who gushed on September 4th that Palin would be the first woman President. As my father used to say, "Not Bloody Likely!"
Is this a joke?
Newsflash: If you put a 10 year old girl on stage with a script prepared by political professionals she will sound impressive also.
Is it sinking in yet?
Ahhh...to have the luxury of being "impressed".
Let me guess:
You're probably not having your home foreclosed on.
Not trying to decide what to do with your unwanted pregnancy.
Don't have children that are trying to learn science (6000 years old, INDEED) in school.
Don't practice Islam.
Not Arabic.
Don't have a "Muslim"-sounding name.
Don't have relative fighting in the Middle East.
Shall I continue?
My late Grandmother once told me that at 11 she saw a horse do multiplication problems at a fair. She said that she was very impressed, it was something she remembered for the rest of her life.
That being said, I'm sure she wouldn't vote for the horse (or Sarah Palin, for that matter)!!!
Vote Obama/Biden
Her "base" is small, decreasing, and will be shown to be electorally insignificant.
Her appeal, like the appeal of Ronald Reagan, is something I'll never understand.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on that one. She's a bit to folksy for me and I find her voice amazingly grating and borderline shrill at times.
You said it!
