Alana Baum
Alana Baum is a Clinical Psychologist and an Associate Professor at Northwestern University Medical School. In addition to providing therapy to adults and teens, she lectures on bullying to psychologists, parents and schools; and is Co-Founder of the Jasper Against Batten Foundation, a non-profit to fight a rare children's disease that began as a teacher-student led initiative at nearly 20 local schools in Chicago. Dr. Baum is also a CPS Local School Council member and is committed to supporting teachers as well as programming in the public school system that help children grow emotionally as well as academically.

As a mother of two Chicago public school children, a psychologist, a Local School Council member and a room parent for two classrooms, I believe there is so much good in our public schools. So many of our teachers are talented and committed. Still, it's hard not to be concerned....
