Allison Herwitt is the Legislative Director for the Human Rights Campaign, where she spearheads the organization’s federal legislative work and lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining HRC, she spent eleven years at NARAL Pro-Choice America, first as a lobbyist and later as the Director of Government Relations. In those roles, she coordinated and enhanced legislative strategy, helping to position the organization as the political arm of the pro-choice movement. Herwitt spent six years working on Capitol Hill with two women members of Congress, Representatives Marge Roukema and Susan Molinari. During her time on Capitol Hill, she served as Legislative Co-Chair of the Capitol Hill Women’s Political Caucus. Herwitt holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and women’s studies from Goucher College in Baltimore.
