Sylvester (Sly) Stallone's lawsuit against his former business manager Kenneth Starr (not the Clinton special prosecutor) was front and center in the Pellicano trial today.
In this exclusive audio recording, Hollywood attorney Marty Singer, who had represented Stallone in the past, and who was in court today accompanying a different client, tries to talk Anthony Pellicano, who has been hired by Starr, out of targeting Stallone. Singer tells Pellicano that he's making a mistake by doing so. Pellicano, by turns taciturn and bombastic, talks about his long standing feud with Stallone and how Stallone has disrespected him. It's actually rather funny because it's obvious here that Pellicano has gone too far--threatening both Singer and fellow power attorney Jake Bloom and their golden goose, Sly Stallone. It appears Pellicano is flying too high and that his wings are about to melt. The call is 40 minutes, but highlights are easy to find. The call is in two audio blurbs.
Here are highlights from the first part:
4:05
AP: If I wanted to get Stallone personally, I could've done that. You and I had a discussion about this. I told you I'm not gonna do anything to hurt his family. And I'm not. Now, what I told Jake Bloom is that it's in his client's best interest, and in Jake's best interest, not to go forward with this lawsuit. That wasn't a threat; that's a statement of fact.
8:18:
AP: I mean if these guys want to play patty-cake, I'll play patty-cake with them.
MS: I - what I don't understand is: Did you think that this phone call was an intimidating phone call to you?
AP: No. I think that they're trying to intimidate me.
12:40
AP: Brad Grey is a close personal friend of mine. Ronnie Meyers is one of my best friends

Highlights from the second part:
8:10:
I'm going to find out every fucking thing you've done in your life, cause that's the way I do things... I'm going to find every piece of dirt about you, Ken Starr, that exists. Because if I can't do it, nobody else can do it.
11:55
I've been through so much with that man [Jake], from the Simpson/Bruckheimer days to the present. You know, I just took care of that big Chris Rock matter for his firm.
15:00
MS: You allegedly told Elie [Samaha] that you were going to get Stallone.
AP: No. Did. Never, On my son Luca's life, may he die if I'm telling you a lie.
