Alyssa Best is the Local Programs and Policy Associate at Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW), where she works on direct service, organizing, and policy projects that increase economic opportunities for low-income women and girls in the DC Metro Area. She has an extensive background in reproductive justice, feminist activism, and young women's leadership. She has promoted and coordinated leadership programs for the Center for Progressive Leadership, the Institute for Women's Leadership, and the Pro-Choice Public Education Project (PEP). Her experience as a trainer and educator includes teaching young women in the university classroom and in the non-profit sector. She has a Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University and a Bachelor's Degree in English from Mary Washington College.
