Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is one of the nation's foremost diplomats, but she has also become famous for her signature brooches. The woman who famously said, "If someone wants to know what kind of mood I'm in, read my pins!" sits down with GMA Now to discuss politics, brooches and what to make of Senator Obama's refusal to wear an American flag lapel pin (in a nutshell: "Nothing"). Have a look:
Find out what advice Secretary Albright has for the next President.

"What's My Logo?," a weekly Q&A on ABC's GMA Now and the Huffington Post's Living section, addresses the professional importance of personal style with prominent businesspeople, leaders and personalities.

What a joke Albright is...From the way she 'handled' Yugoslavia to her 'Oh, I never knew, I'm Jewish' and now the flag lapel nonsense?. ..You're done lady
She said that you can't assume anything from the fact that Obama doesn't always wear flag pins.
I would suggest you watch the video. Your assumptions are inane and just who are you to make such statements about a woman who has done so much for peace in this world. What have you accomplished to make the world a better place, do tell.
I am more often then not appalled by the comments on this site. My mistake is to believe that "progressives" use their minds and hearts to respond to blogs. The hatred that is put out here is indeed disheartening.
My thanks to those who leave comments worth reading.
As a matter of fact, I've just read her first two books (Madame Secretary and Mighty and the Almighty) and have to say her way of thinking commands lots of respect. I starting reading the headline of this article and was working myself up to exploding at some implied outrage over something I see as a non-issue, and was relieved to see her thinking keeps being sane. I may not agree with all her opinions, but all in all she's one of the most respectable and sane voices in today's democratic field and all around politics.
Actually, she handled "Yugoslavia" rather well.
I think Albright is one of the best SOS this country ever had.
Having to wear a flag pin to prove your patriotism? This sounds exceedingly close to an authoritarian nationalist political ideology, in less "elite" terms that's called fascism. Didn't we fight a war against this type of stuff in the 1940's?
If you have niothing to be proud of as an American, then I guess you shouldn't wear a flag lapel pin.
Are you kidding? Are you suggesting that's the only way to show patriotism?
Our country is NOT just a flag! Patriots recognize that liberty and freedom are the building blocks of our Republic. Attacks on individual liberties and freedoms (like the Patriot Act and so many other Bush initiatives) are the real enemy of patriotism. Viewing someone as not patriotic for not wearing a flag lapel pin is stupid. It amazes me how shallow some people can be.
If one wears two flag pins does that make one twice as patriotic as the wearer of one pin?
My question is why it is an issue that Obama doesn't always wear a flag pin but the same question is not asked the other candidates? Or only men supposed to wear flag pins? It's such a ludicrous assumption that wearing a flag pin makes someone a better patriot. Reverend Wright served honorably in the armed services - neither Bush, nor Cheney nor either of the CLintons did -- so who's the better patriot?
BINGO .....look at this picture and find a flag pin http://www .huffingto npost.com/ 2008/05/04 /clinton-c amp-consid ering_n_10 0051.html51.html ,You will win a Hillary shirt ,bright yellow of course.
It called 'double standards' and most blacks encounter it daily in American society; it is an off-shoot of white racism which basically judges blacks from a different set of outcomes, specific not to their own values, beliefs and customs, but to its values, beliefs and customs which are implicitly judged to be the standard bearer.
So her next gig-selling jewelry (brooches) on HSN eh.
Refused to watch the video at the beginning of the SECOND ad. I'll get the information from another source. Please join me. REFUSE to watch these ads.
In my experience, people who display symbols of their patriotisim or their religion in everyday life should be regarded with suspicion. It immediately raises the question, "What are you trying to prove and why?"
could'nt agree more
Rarrrin'!
They are most likely trying to prove something to themselves, as the Viet Nam draft-dodgers seem to need flag pins, and the born-agains need to flaunt god (lower case "G" intended) and prayer. I think of it as an identity crisis, like when we had to flaunt our high school mascot on everything we owned. There's a word for all of it: "childish".
Best post I've seen today!
This woman is an idiot!
I smell the putrid scent of "George and Charley", attempting to "perfume" the inane and ..The stench, however, remains.
seemingly insesscent and inane challenges of the patriotism of Obama, by spraying their
own special formula of "LIE-SOL".
Oh great sit down for a talk with "one of the nation's foremost diplomats" and talk about brooches.
Huffington Post goes People Magazine.
Coming soon, a discussion with Condoleeza Rice on hair-do's.
"what to make of Senator Obama's refusal to wear an American flag lapel pin"
Obama "REFUSED" to wear a lapel pin. What shoddy reporting! There's a grand difference between not having one on and refusing to wear one for the occasion.
Right on the money, Bee. Too bad that understanding the difference requires more intelligence to understand than most of the television talking heads seem to possess.
Exactly! Obama never refused to wear a flag pin. They make up this crap to cause controversy and make people think he doesn't like the flag. How petty of ABC. That is why I do not watch them anymore. The debate was the last straw for me.
Before you all get too lovey-dovey with Ms. Albright, remember she's the one who said it was worth it that the sanctions on Iraq had killed half a million Iraqi children. She now regrets it, but that's what she said.
She had been asked a loaded question, and everyone with any sense knows it.
There is not one single public figure anywhere in the world who hasn't been trapped by a similar tactic, and it shows a certain lack of character to reference this kind of "gotcha" gaffe.
A whole little segmet on BROOCHES and PINS? When was last time the Iraq invasion got this much time on any of the morning shows? So pathetic.
Patriotism was measured in the old Soviet Union by flag pins too!
Agreed. I believe there were thousands of flags and flag pins in Nuremberg.

That is soo cool. I really like her.
I REMEMBER madam secretary ripping current sec of state a new a-hole.... saying that her father, which was rice's professor in college would be ashamed to see what she is doing in her political matters... rice and even colin powell should be ashamed of themselves by ultimately being used by pres bush...
