OffTheBus is collaborating with Brian Lehrer and WNYC Radio on their "30 Issues In 30 Days." Here's a brief project intro from none other than the host, Brian Lehrer:

"The Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC Radio is using the wisdom of crowds to help produce some great election coverage. In our series "30 Issues In 30 Days," we'll go beyond the horse race to dig deep into an issue that really matters every day for 30 straight days, beginning in September. The goal is to clarify the positions of Obama and McCain and debate who's got it right. In conjunction with Huffington Post's OffTheBus and Instapundit.com, we're inviting you to help determine which issues to discuss, with what guests, and the questions to be explored. Currently, people are nominating issues during the "30 Issues Brainstorm." Soon, you'll vote for and rank your favorites from the list, which will help craft the series. ~~ Brian Lehrer"

Nominate an issue here. Listen to today's inaugural project program here.

Later we'll announce the role you -- OffTheBus members -- will play. But first things first, ... stake out your issues.

Lieberman is another Zell Miller [former democratic governor of Georgia, who spoke harshly and loudly against Kerry in the last Presidential election]; a nasty attitude, refusal to be discrete and respectful in your disagreements. As a Georgia Democrat, I was embarrassed and a bit ashamed of how former governor MIller treated many of us, who, in the past, actually voted for him for Governor of Georgia. Lieberman = Miller, a lying, dirty-dealing, back-stabbing, badmouthing republican in democratic clothes. IGNORE HIM and he will eventually go away!

Someone needs to ask Lieberman
1) Why does he accuse Democrats of sidelining him because of one issue(Middle East , Iraq War) when he has been bashing Democrats on that very same issue over the years? Does he feel entitled to understanding that he is unwilling to give others in his former party?
2) Lieberman said after his losing primary that he is now free to speak his mind. Yet to be on Bush's good side(since they share the same ideas on the Iraq war), he has shut his mouth in critiicizing the Bushies on so many issues. Example: Katrina fiasco. He is the chairman of the Homeland Security committee.
3) Even when Lieberman expresses token disagreemens with the Bushies, the tone is much milder compared to his disagreements with anyone on the Iraq war.

Most independent republicans I know of have no problem with conservatives on fiscal policy and some social policies but are skeptical of the benefits of the Iraq war. Yet, the war is the only real significant area where Lieberman seems to have some common ground with the neocons.
