Just what we need. Unpaid, unprofessional journalists. If you really can write, demand to get paid for it.
WANTED: Citizen reporters to help HuffPost's OffTheBus cover the Obama campaign. Over the next two weeks the campaign will be holding hundreds of small platform meetings where the public is invited to help shape the nominee's platform. We need you to be a reporter in your local meeting, and to measure the effectiveness of the campaign. Already planned to attend one? You can report in directly to us. Either way, it's another great way for you to get involved in the presidential race.
SIGN UP for OffTheBus Special Ops, and we'll send you this week's assignment. For more info on Special Ops, read our announcement and check out one of our latest projects (Google has turned our map into a widget that anyone can embed on their website).

Is it really too late? The Democratic Convention is not until August. Only a tiny percentage of super delegates would have to change their declared preferences, to pick the real, feminist, pro-choice candidate, and to curtail this sea-change shift to the center by yesterday's liberal who is today's new religionist. We of NOW-NYS oppose Obama's "faith-based" politicking. And we want a true supporter of women's rights in the White House.
Hint hint, she's really pro choice.
During the campaign I never heard his position on this program that for the first time in out history so blatantly does away with something I was so proud of about our country, the separation of church and state..yes there had been inroads, in about 1956 the addition of "under G-d" in our pledge, but never to the extent this program, by giving such large sums of money to one religion, shattered the church/state separation concept...and now Obama does not only want to maintain the program, he wants to EXPAND AND ADD MONEY TO IT.
Is anyone out there listening or are they so intent on supporting him now they can't even THINK.
Obama hasn't changed his positions. What he is changing is his spiel in the hopes that he will get enough people in the center to vote for him.
A lot of people who support choice do not suuport late term abortions of viable fetuses, considering that murder. Me, for instance.
None of this matters. Most of the people are going to vote on gas prices ($52.00 for 13 gallons is a lot of money.) They don't have hope for alternative technologies that ahven't been invented yet.
In the meantime, you can figure out how to run your public transportation on dung or sails like used on the Nina, Pinta and Sant Maria.
I hear you. But just a couple of questions about your rant. Where does Obama not support women's right to choose. What he opposes is using mental disease as the sole reason for aborting a 3rd trimester fetus. Which, by the way, supports Roe as it is written. So you claim he does not support women's rights is false.
What one religion is he giving money to? I don't think any particular religioin was named as the sole beneficiary of the faith based initiatives. I would imagine that all religions would be able to draw water from the well. So what you are claiming is false again.
Maybe he will give all the money to the Muslims after he puts all the white people in slavery and before he blows up the White House and after he does the terrorist fist bump with Michelle.
why???? He was given the nomination. Isn't he already the President too??
Yes, he was given the nomination by the majority of voters, 20 millions plus, in the primaries and caucuses. He will be the President too if that is the will of voters in the general election.
I will do it if I can get to it. I don't drive but here in the DC area there is good transportation.
Virginia would be the most suitable in my situation.
We need to get the entire rainbow out to vote for him--- if we fail- and the repubs get in-- we'll be singing "somewhere over the rainbow" for 100 years of war and poverty....
I'd love to help except I live in Illinois. Being in Obama's homestate, he probably is not going to get around here much except for some quick appearances in Chicago.
As much as I love having him for our senator and it is so exciting to have him as the democratic nominee, the bad part is that Illinois is not at the top of his list for appearances.
Oh, how I wish....
Lafrance,
That doesnt matter. Obama isnt attending the platform meetings, but anyone can attend. Just check his website for a date and location convenient for you. There are many in IL, I am attending one next week in IL.
Also, Obama is appearing in NW IN, and that is close to IL. You may be able to catch him in IN, which, while normally Republican, may be in play this year.
This is AWESOME!
Now we can add support for warrentless wiretapping,
amnesty for lawbreaking telco's,
an anti- campaign finance reform policy,
support for NAFTA,
tax payer funding for "faith-based," private schools, charities and hiring to the democratic party platform.
Hooray!
I'm sure Obama and the DNC will be working hard to get the results of these meetings in to the platform because they sure didn't during the process we just went through with county and state conventions right?
OR this is a ruse to get you to campaign and donate more money to OBAMA>>>Nah! :)
