Since middle school, I knew I always wanted to do something with my life that was significant, that somehow would impact others lives for the better.

I think most people who have that thought normally end up as doctors, nurses, or teachers.

But, I was a business major. (With a nonprofit concentration).

And for now, that's part of how I'm trying to do my part to help the world.
I have a nonprofit called Walk4Water, and its our goal to raise funds and awareness for the cause of clean water by doing crazy and impossible things.

Our big project is going to be a 7000 mile walk across Africa from Cape Town to Cairo, starting in January 2012.

To warm up I am doing walking in CT, CA and maybe other states as well.

We concentrate on clean water because we see it as a fundamental building block to ending poverty as a whole.

I'll be updating this blog with updates on how training is going, funny stories about things that happen along the way, and inspirational stories about other people that I might meet. So, expect a whole spectrum of laughter, tears, and challenge, as I try to figure this whole thing out.

People travel for all sorts of different reasons. Some people are running away from their current reality and some people are running towards their dreams. Some people are looking for a place to belong. Some people travel for work. Some people travel to "find themselves."

Have you ever watched the...

Endurance: Take a Victory Lap

When I walked across CT, I made a rule for myself. It was simple enough, "You cannot stop for a break right before, right after, or in the middle of a hill". It became an important rule, because Connecticut ended up having more hills than I thought it would. And...

Walk Across CT: What Do You Think About for 10 Hours a Day?

I've always been one to say that if you locked me in solitary confinement, I would survive just fine.

Don't get me wrong, I love to be around people, especially those who are most important to me. But -- at the end of the day I am an introvert, and...

From Belief to Reality

"It is not what you know when you start that matters. It is what you can learn as you go along. When you are starting something new and challenging, always think, 'Can do.' Your capacity to do anything is simply a state of mind." - Donald Trump
