Can Newsweek's Dan Lyons Cover Apple, Now? (Video)

We wonder why Dan Lyons, author of the Secret Diary of Steve Jobs, the clever, stinging, first-person send-up of Apple CEO Steve Jobs, has restarted his blog. Particularly now that his identity is known and he is a staffer at Newsweek?

When I spoke with Dan last fall up in Boston, shortly after he ended the blog and started his new gig at Newsweek, I asked him if it might be tough covering Apple after all those high profile posts and publicity, and a book. He said it would be tough.

I would assume it would be tougher now. But then, it seems it's tough for any journalists to cover the company.

Ryan Tate at Gawker ponders the reemergence of the Lyons blog.

Here's some of Dan's "real" Apple coverage in Newsweek.

I interviewed Dan at a technology conference at MIT in September. At the end of the video, Dan meets one of his often skewered subjects, Robert Scoble.
